Cold Rush [Jasha]

Inia groaned. Her words hadn't exactly come out as she'd meant them to, even after she'd corrected herself. To her surprise, Jasha wasn't as bothered by this as Inia would have been, were she in his position. Puzzled, Inia sat in the snow, looking up at Jasha, her eyes blending into a gentle shade of periwinkle as her mouth shifted awkwardly.

“We- But-” She began, raising her eyebrows emphatically. Jasha may well have smiled. She swatted a stray droplet of water from her nose, giggling at herself. Jasha certainly smiled at that. Inia's curiosity got the better of her. Nonchalantly, she stood. “Jasha, are you attracted to me?” She clapped her hand over her mouth, failing to prevent her blunt inquiry.

Oh, why, why would I say that?? Because, Inia, you can't keep your mouth shut at the best of times. Sensitive situation? Bad idea. Very bad idea. She sighed, standing up, glaring at the snow in contempt.

“Sorry, forget I asked that. It's your business, Jasha, and not mine. It wasn't my place to ask. If you are, you'll do what's proper and talk to my parents. Traditions exist for a reason, after all.” She turned, casually beckoning him to follow her. Walking slowly, she heard him fall into step behind her. Inia hung her head, growling at herself while silently trudging through the snow.
If I'm speaking something besides Vani, I'll say I am. I probably won't speak anything else, though. Or maybe I will, and I'll do something fun with it. Something really fun.

Cold Rush [Jasha]

Postby Jasha on January 8th, 2013, 9:03 am

Following after her Jasha tilted his head, suddenly very interested in the turn of conversation. His sisters had been telling him to find himself a wife for nearly three seasons now and Jasha was starting to agree with them. Okay, tread carefully and don't seem too... weird? Over eager? Whatever, just try to be normal.

Clearing his throat Jasha scratched the back of his head, his eyes dimming to a nervous deep grey. Okay, use your words, like a civilized person, don't blunder around like a half dead Frostworm!
"So, uh, how would you feel if i did talk to your parents? We've only just met but then again, some couples never meet before they marry."

Cold Rush [Jasha]

Postby Inia Skyglow on January 8th, 2013, 10:53 am

Inia didn't know whether to explode in fury or turn and hug Jasha. Both alternatives were tempting, but despite the polarized choices at her feet, or perhaps because of her internal opposition, she chose to continue walking. She did, however, raise her head. It couldn't be helped. Inia looked forward, at the horizon, rather than at her feet, as a reaction; a response to shock. It was instinctual, reflexive, akin to taking breaths.

Yet it was entirely unwelcome to Inia, as it was noticeable, and Jasha may interpret it to mean something it didn't. Covering for herself, sputtering for a word, anything as such would seem intentional. She shrugged, trying to be casual, still feeling nervous.

“My parents wouldn't wed me off to a man I didn't know,” Inia said heatedly. “Nevertheless, I imagine my parents would take any interest you may have as a good omen, likely imploring me to meet and consider you.” Inia smiled knowingly, turning her head to look over her shoulder, flashing her smile at Jasha. Nonchalance, she thought, I should endeavour to come across as aware, but rather uncaring. Maybe even a little coy.

Jasha smiled as she spoke. She's bold, honest. Confusing though, but i suppose that's just women in general. For a moment he wondered if she was angry at him for what he had said, but then he turned and smiled, and his shoulders, which had tensed without him even realizing, relaxed.

"Then," Jasha started, hastening his steps until he walked beside her, smiling down at her as he spoke. "I hope you'll allow me the honor of getting to know you Miss Inia."

Sighing he rubbed his face and watched his foggy breath in front of his face, "What hold are you from?" He asked curiously, determined to get to know the odd young woman, and digging the butt of his spear into the ground with every step. His pace was slower than usual so that he wouldn't leave Inia, and her considerably shorter legs, behind.

Grinning, Inia looked at Jasha as he walked beside her. “I'm a Skyglow. Fishing for a location, then? I mean, once you know my birth hold, you won't have any difficulty finding my parents. Face it, you're attracted to me, Jasha.” Inia walked briskly, her tone almost deadpan, as if reciting textbook facts.

Her eyes glinting like emeralds, she stared at Jasha for another moment before looking down again. “It's not as if that causes an issue. It's for you to discuss with my parents, as is proper.” She smiled again, relaxing despite herself.

“If you want to get to know me, I can certainly bombard your mind with facts, stories, little bits of myself. I've been rather attached to leatherworking since a young age. Not sure why, it just felt right. Feels right, I mean, because it still does. I still love leather. The way it feels, the way it bends.” She blushed.

“I don't intend to sound obsessed. I'm also rather taken with poetry. You can interpret that however you wish, it wasn't a very subtle comment. I'm not a people person, I'm very awkward, I tend to ramble and disregard social boundaries without noticing it. When I'm talking, I don't really care if you're listening. I mean, I do, but I don't care if you want to, because I won't notice your disinterest. If someone tells me off, I tend to get angry far too quickly. I don't like feeling as if someone has authority over me, so I tend to get very defensive if I'm ordered about. Oh, and I'm very possessive of things I've made.” She trailed off, not quite finished talking. Rather, Inia awaited another relevent thought, leaving an awkward silence in the air.

Cold Rush [Jasha]

Postby Jasha on January 21st, 2013, 8:00 am

Skyglow... Jasha thought to himself, trying to recall the holds layout. His thoughts came to an abrupt stop however at what she said next. Jashas head jerked up abruptly, tearing his gaze away from where he had been watching where he put his feet and up to rest on the side of Inias face. He flamed and struggled for words, feeling for all the world like a fish out of water.

He decided to not answer and avoid making a fool out of himself. Instead he stuffed his free hand into his pocket, suddenly grateful that he didn't shave that morning, as the dark bristles hid most of his blush.

He put his embarrassment aside as he once again concentrated on what Inia was saying, being sure to file the information away in his memory for later. A smile crept onto his face as he listened to her speak about he work, though from the sound of her voice it was hardly work to her.

"I have to say," He started when she trailed off. "I'm impressed. You know alot about yourself, i'd certainly have a hard time thinking of things about myself. Apart from the easy things of course."

Inia grinned. “Well, I've had quite a bit of time to think about myself, to figure out my traits and such. Figuring out why I didn't seem to get along with people was a huge part of it, I'll admit.” She shuffled her feet.

“Anyway, Jasha,” she began, smirking confidently, “you're welcome to show up at Laria's later, but I just remembered I have a couple of things to do before I head to “work”.” She turned, walking backwards as she bade him farewell. “Perhaps I'll see you at Laria's, or perhaps you'll hit me a little closer to home sooner than that. It was nice talking to you, though. And to your friend, who you still haven't properly introduced. Introduced with a name, that is. Not to be offensive.” She knelt, patting the dog on the head affectionately, waiting for a name and a kind word before she left. She'd fudged the truth a bit about her errands, she could have done them tomorrow or even the next day, but she needed a moment to breathe after this encounter.

Cold Rush [Jasha]

Jasha smiled softly, thinking how cute she looked with such a confident smirk.
"Maybe i will." Jasha agreed, smiling back at her. He knew however there was no 'maybe' in the decision at all, he was nearly certain that he'd be able to find a way to see her again, the sooner the better too. "Oh of course!" He exclaimed, looking down to Vassi as Inia knelt to give him a pat. "That little guys Vassi, my hunting partner." His smile widened at the blissful look on the dogs face. "He's half the reason i get any game at all!" he laughed.

"Have fun with your errands, hopefully their at least a little enjoyable and not to much of a bother." He stepped back, giving a quick, low whistle to Vassi who, after a reluctant glance, turned and followed after his master. "I have to get on my way, but i look forward to the next time i'll be seeing you!"

Cold Rush [Jasha]

“I look forward to it,” called Inia as she turned and stepped away. When her face was safely out of his vision, she sighed.

“Sweet winter, that was hard. An interesting start to a day...” She kept muttering to herself as she walked, her face flushed with excitement. Jasha... She kept blushing as she thought of him. I'm surprised at you, Inia. You're a natural flirt, you are. I think he likes you. She chuckled to herself. I really think he likes you. I hope he turns up, then... I mean, it was an open invitation. I should have been more direct. But, Inia... You did good. I mean, a good looking guy likes you. Or at least thinks you're nice to look at. Which is where it all starts.

Notes:
This is a nice meet and greet thread! Seeing Inia struggling to leave a good impression on Jasha made me laugh out loud a couple of times. Inia is a very interesting character and the way her mind works really amuses me. I gave the points in seduction for Inia's attempt at flirting.

Winter season had just turned into Spring, so please update your character's age in your CS. There is also another thing I want you to take note of: I have observed here and from some of your posts from another thread that you occasionally do what we call as 'godmodding.' This happens when you force reactions upon another player's PC, deciding on your own what they are doing. I personally think you are a good writer, just not experienced enough in this kind of collaborative writing. So please steer clear of this in future threads because not only will it be rude and unfair to the other players, it will also remove from the PC the chance to react the way their players had intended them to.

Jasha Frostfawn :

  • Interrogation +2

Lores:
  • Women are Confusing
  • Contact: Inia Skyglow
  • Appraising a Potential Bride
  • Inia's Love for Leatherworking
  • Inia: A Mercurial Personality

Notes:
This is a nice meet and greet thread! It makes me happy to know Jasha is such a gentleman. I find it funny how both of them felt so nervous and awkward talking about the topic of marriage without realizing that the other felt the same way too. It's sad that I don't have any more experience to give than this. I'd certainly love to see more of their interactions in threads to come. I advise you to watch out for some spelling errors though, but aside from that, your posts are good.

On a side note, please update the Thread list in your Character Sheet. It's there to keep track of what your PC has been up to and avoid inconsistencies with your PC's storyline.
