The sun was finally out. And enchanting. Whales and dolphins were jumping out the sea, as if trying to greet the sun. And in return the sun shined brighter. Troian was in her casinor. Sleep like always in the morning. But this time she bolted up. Panting and crying. She didn't like the dream- no nightmare- she was having. She didn't like re-living the day. The day she lost her pod. The day she was sold...
The day was like any other day on the the ship... The lia if the pod, her name was Missy, was keeping things in check. Encouraging the men to fish, the girls to watch the children and elderly. Troian was old enough to participate, and she did. She loved being around the elderly. Hear their tales of when they were young like her and free. She's smile... That was the last day she gave a real smile. After taking care of the younger kids and elderly, she went on deck and started learning how to fish. But that's all she remembered... Before the Rassasydar came. It was a blur then. She invaded the ship and killed everyone on deck except Missy and Troian. They went underneath the small ship and the cries of children and elders happen. It went silent... Very silent. They came back and huddled around Missy. And for a good while just talked. Troian wonder what they talked about... Was it her? That's what she assumed after they all looked at her. Even Missy and even though she didn't speak her eyes said everything to Troian.'I have failed you, I am sorry.' But there was also something else she couldn't detect. Was it hope for her? Did she know Troian was capable of surviving. Someone pick her up and threw her on the ship. Their ship.
For two days and seven hours Troian sat on the bow of the ship, hands tied behind her back. All she could do is looked at the beautiful sea. She prayed to Laviku and knew that everything was going to be okay. It didn't look like it but she had to get through this. For Missy... For the pod. A brown bag was put over her head and she was being shoved around. She heard the jingle of Mizas. She was carefully pushed in a direction and someone had a strong grip on her. She was being sold... As a slave. The worse thing to ever happen to her.
Once she made it to the house of the slave owner, she met another slave. A Konti that seemed fine about being a slave. But that Konti knew very well that Troian didn't belong and was trying to figure out a way to set her free. But she didn't think of anything right away. So instead she made Troian feel comfortable, taught her a little in cleaning. She wasn't the best but to the slave owner it looked better than it did before. The house that she 'cleaned.' Was very dirty. It was dirty and it was just the slave owner and pig looking woman that he called his wife. The wife was cruel... But in a odd way, treated the Konti and Troian like her own daughters. Troian would never respond but The Konti responded to them both in a positive way, which puzzled Troian. But she never questioned her. The Konti is who helped her skill in seduction. A novice. This Konti helped Troian get through her days as a Slave. And when she finally escaped with the help the Konti, she promised she'd never forget her. And she didn't...
Troian dragged herself out of her bed and headed toward the deck. She viewed the ocean and tried to forget the dream. There wasn't a ship in sight. Just the way she liked it. The Suvan Sea looked so much better like that. At least to her. It looked wonderful to her. If only the cold temperature of the water didn't phase her, she would be swimming in it right now. She couldn't wait for the spring. She was going to get rid of her dreads and swim in the water. Her unusual brown hair would be soaked and have the scent of saltwater like the rest of her body. Thinking of swimming in the water made her shiver with excitement. She couldn't wait.
Her Tavan, Dasani was making his way out her bag which was by her side. He looked hungry and Troian felt hungry. She took out some bread and split it in half. She didn't have any fish yet. The harpoon she used to get fish with eventually broke. She knew it wouldn't last long and didn't fish everyday like she was suppose too. She hated herself for that...
She finished her bread and hoisted sails up. On its own the ship took off in a direction. Troian didn't budge. She wanted the ship to take her where it wanted to go. She wouldn't control it. But watch and observe. Observe the surroundings and the boat move. Listen to the waves calling for land and the boat doing the same. She relaxed and watched. She wasn't going to do a single thing...
