Solo The Sky Is My Only Hope

19th Winter 512 AV The winters had taken Syliras. Dark clouds formed overhead and rumbled threateningly. Wind howled slightly and a the trees were stripped bare of there leaves leaving the naked twigs and branches free of leaves and fruit. It was a perfect day for Daniel, however. A reminder that he was back home, it felt good. A warm spot in the pit of his stomach was growing slowly and filling him with jovial happiness. No amount of rain could stop it. A flash of lightening struck a few meters behind. The sight frightening the young man for only a few seconds before he returned to his usual calm state. The thunder followed only a few seconds later. Back inside Stormhold Castle. The grey walls towered high over his head covering him from the rest of the world. It only proved to remind him that his journey was over. The long years he had taken abroad had ceased. It was over. Now he was back inside the castle, and it oddly felt to him like his journey hadn't ended. But that it had just begun. The way of life he led so many years before seemed foreign now and he was afraid to go back to it. Sucking in a deep breath, Daniel raised his clenched hand which had been balled into a fist and rapped at the door. The sound of the flesh coming into contact with the wood emanated a loud sound sure to roar up the household inside. That is, unless they weren't home. But they had to be, Daniel had sent a letter previous weeks before telling them of his arrival and he was sure they received it. He had a strong instinct about the matter. Suddenly, the door flung open to reveal his rosy cheeked mother. Her blue eyes bright in surprise.
