Roselai Nyx Basic Information Race: Human, Vantha Birthday & Age : Born on the 19th day of Autumn in 493 AV (17) Gender: Female Physical Description Roselai has black hair that falls to the center of her back. Due to her Vantha heritage, her eyes change color according to her mood, but they are primarily deep blue. Her skin is paler than most Vantha's. She is short in stature, standing at 5'3" and quite thin weighing about 145 lbs.,with small hands and feet. She dresses relatively simply in all black, formfitting clothes. She dons a black hooded cloak while traveling. Her feet sheathed in simple black boots. She wears a snowflake, a symbol of Morwen, as a necklace, which she refuses to take off. Character Concept Roselai is quiet and shy, which contrasts greatly against her Vantha heritage. She enjoys solitude and doesn't like being in one place for too long. She wanders the world alone, quietly observing the goings-on and later composing elaborate songs and poems about what she saw. She prays dutifully to Morwen each day, being a woman of strong religious faith. She is reluctant to trust others too openly, but will not deny another traveler food and shelter, provided that she has enough to spare. Character History Roselai was born to a Vantha mother and a human father, growing up in Snowsong Hold. She had one sibling, an older brother named Zahavi. Roselai's relationship with Zahavi was cordial at best. He would occasionally allow her to accompany him on hunting forays, but not often enough for Roselai's liking. Her mother loved both her children equally, but her father favored Zahavi over Roselai, saying that she was weak and useless. Roselai made it her childhood mission to win her father's approval, but ultimately failed, because he died in a hunting accident when she was nine years old. All he had ever done for her was teach her to make her longbow; he left her nothing and left all that he owned to Zahavi. On her sixteenth birthday, Roselai's mother gave her a small harp that had been given to her on her sixteenth birthday by her mother. Roselai carries it everywhere, often playing it when distressed or sad. Not a day after receiving the harp, Roselai left her childhood home to escape the oppressive memories of her upbringing. However, she vowed to return before her mother's death to see her one last time.
