OOCI'm not sure if you were expecting a nervous response, or a Confident one. I choose confident cause well, it's Kayle. He's very optimistic... :/

The woman gave Kayle a somewhat patronizing tone. She stated the she wasn’t kind, but had skill. Kayle thought to himself that she was indeed kind on the inside. If she wasn’t she would have let him pick you the Devil’s Club without concern. He faintly smiles as he listens to the woman.

The woman asks Kayle, if he wanted to become a healer, if he had the skills needed. Kayle’s nervousness shifted and he gazed into the woman’s eyes with an expression that dramatically contrasted his state before, and his personality. Eye’s full of desire and determination, he felt passionate about give hope of life to others. He thought about the woman’s words and thought deeply about them. He smirks and gave her his answer.

“I want to be a healer!” He said with utmost confidence
“but I have no skills in this at. But I can learn!” He adds

He stared into the woman’s eyes, awaiting her response.

"Kindness is the weapon I wield. It's sharper, stronger and more powerful than any blade, and it penetrates someone's heart better than any arrow. it's power doesn't only come from the wielder, but from the hearts of many as well. Kindness isn't a weapon that should be taken lightly."

[The great Bazaar] Herbs & Remedies (Min)

The young man’s diffidence had quickly shifted to an attitude of positivism and confidence, and Min could credit him for believing in himself, and his ability and desire to learn. But it was also true that fools were the most prone to blow their own trumpet the loudest. Still, this man did not seem overly arrogant or obnoxious about his simple claims. Min frowned and considered him a moment longer. She had much to learn herself, about healing in general and about the plants and possible remedies of this foreign, northern clime. She would be reliant on others to share their knowledge with her, and it seemed perhaps this young man would serve as a reminder that such was the way of life – like a circle – cylcling and recycling, and one individual touching another who them touched another. Besides, she had yet to make many friends in Syliras, and her own work was interesting but kept her quite busy. If the owners of the Soothing Waters had no objection, she could perhaps teach this willing pupil there, as well as after hours, and thus kill two birds with one stone (possibly not the best choice of metaphors).

She nodded, finally, and said, “I am Min, of the Patient Shadows. I will agree – to try only. I must see where your heart is, and if you are smart. You must be smart to be a healer.” And many other thing besides, but she would not list those now.

“And what can you teach me, Mr. Ferret on his head?” She asked, with a wry smile finally gracing her full lips.

OOCif there's a particular skill you want my character to teach. reject the offer and ask about the skill.

The woman introduced herself as Min. She agreed to attept teaching Kayle, but only if she learnet something from him.

“A trade of skills?” Kayle thought to himself.

He ponders about his own talents, and wonders if any of them will be of any use to her. Kayle looked at the woman, examining her. She was quite slender. Kayle wonders if she is able to protect herself if an unavoidable situation that needed physical combat arises. He raised his hand right hand and clenches it into a fist. He then thrust his fist towards Min’s shoulder, keeping a safe distance so the attack won’t connect and cause harm to her.

“How about self-defence? I’m not sure if you know how to fight, but I’m sure you will come across a situation that you’ll need to defend yourself, right?” Kayle said, still holding his fist in mid-air.

Kayle wouldn’t normally teach a person violence. However, he was somewhat concerned about her in the future. He warmly smiles at the woman, wondering about his offer.

[The great Bazaar] Herbs & Remedies (Min)

Self-defense, huh? It was apparent that there was nothing about Min that would signify that she had spent three years of compulsory service in Taloba’s paramilitary outfit. Truth be told, she had gladly evaded most of the combat and such like training her fellow trainees had to undergo in exchange for being allowed to put her medical skills to use, and to enhance them. There was never any shortage of injured, wounded or sick young “soldiers” around, and her family had a reputation for the healing arts. So she had kind of slid by without really acquiring useful fighting skills.

But was it really so noticeable?

Oh well, it seemed a fair offer and though she could hardly be expected to take down her quarry with hand to hand combat maneuvers, once she finally ran him to earth, such skills might come in useful in the interim, during the trailing after him bit. She had no idea, really, where that trail would leave once she determined how and when he had left Syliras. Just like riding a horse, fighting might be something she had better learn…

Min gave a nod. “Alright. I accept. And – you must teach me more Common. When I make a mistake, you tell me, alright?”

She gave the ferret a narrow look, and jabbed her forefinger at it. “And – the Fer-ret stays with you. Not on me – you understand? I do not think I like wee-zels.”

Her gaze turned to the young man, and she asked dryly, “Do you have a name? Or do I call you Ferret-boy?”

Kayle smiled when he heard the woman accepting the ‘skill trade’, she also asked Kayle to improve her speaking skills in common tongue. She poked at Ren told Kayle that Ren stayed with him, this posed as no problem however. Kayle completely forgot about introducing himself to the woman, the woman’s somewhat emotionless statement reminded him.

“Oh, sorry. You can call me ‘Ferret-boy’ if you please. However, my name is Kayle, Kayle Monworth.” He said.

He was unsure about who he would learn this skill, and was also unsure about teaching. The only thing he could teach was small animals, and he couldn’t treat a nothing human being as an animal. He gazes into her eyes as if he’s searching for clue or hint about what he is going to learn, but he had no such power.

“So… how is this going to work? Are you going to show me herbs? Are you going to demonstrate how to dress a wound? Are you going to tell me the do’s and do not’s?” Kayle ask, firing questions one after the other.

Kayle was speaking quite fast, but he didn’t know he was doing so. His excitement was jittering within him and it wanted to escape, but Kayle tried his best to keep his composter.

[The great Bazaar] Herbs & Remedies (Min)

“Kayle Monworth.” Min pronounced the name carefully, just as she had done ‘ferret’ and ‘weasel’ – committing it to memory. She knew now that many non-Myrians had multiple names, and that it wasn’t necessary for her to utilize all of them. Each Myrian belonged to a clan which had a specific name, but typically one did not address any of her race by both given and clan name – not unless it was some formal communication. So, she nodded and said only, “Kayle. That is much better than ferret-boy. And you ask too many questions for one time. First, yes, we will begin with learning herbs – what they do, how to prepare them, what dangers they have. So, if you are ready, now, we can begin. You can come with me to the Soothing Waters. I work there.”

It was up to him – if he was ready at this very moment, they could make a start. If not, perhaps tomorrow.

Kayle looked at Min with a smile as she pronounced his name - her articulations made gave Kayle a small sense of joy. Min commented of Kayle’s speaking quirk before explaining her teaching and asked if Kayle was ready, he simply gave her a nod.

I’m ready, but I’m not sure where Soothing Waters is… So you’ll need to lead me, or give me directions.” Kayle said.

Kayle wonders about this location Min speak of, was his as the name suggested? – Soothing water? Kayle shook his head and focus back on Min in front of him.

[The great Bazaar] Herbs & Remedies (Min)

Min nodded, and checked to make sure her things were stowed safely, before beginning to walk away from the herb stall. She made a polite good bye to the old woman, before asking Kayle, “You don’t know where it is? Are you not from this city?”

She led the way, Kayle and his furry companion accompanying her, and within no more than ten chimes, they had reached their destination. They had to ascend from the basement level of the old fortress part of the city, in the Dyers District and head southeasterly. Located in the Nettle District, close to the main gates to the east, the Soothing Waters spa, bath and place of healing lay on two levels. The entrance lay at ground level, but a large portion could be found underground on the fourth tier. Min brought Kayle inside and thence down a level to some rooms behind those used for massage. Here, she had been apportioned a part of one room where she could store her supplies – and there was equipment she could use for making her remedies. Putting her flat basket on one counter in the room, she asked Kayle, “So, do you know anything about healing – about the body, or medicines, or treating injuries?”
