Herein lies the realm of dreams, where dreamers who are scattered all over the world in the physical can come together in the mysterious world of dreams. Remember, unless one is a Dreamwalker, there is no control over dreams. Ever. Anything can happen, and by threading a dream, you are subject to whomever can walk dreams and the whims of Storytellers.

When Monkeys Attack (Halet)

Though it was just a kiss, it stole the breath from the fiery little woman; something she hadn’t expected by the way her eyes widened when his lips found hers, every muscle in her body rigid for the barest of ticks before she was melting into his arms, responding to the gentle cues of his hands that pressed her flush against him. Soft little pleased noises escaped between their languid explorations, Addy raising to her knees so that he wouldn’t have to bend so nearly in half to reach her mouth, her tiny hands working along his massive muscles until she found his hair and buried her fingers into it.

A spark had burst between them, more tangible and poignant than the mere attractions that the little woman felt towards… well, anything that moved and breathed, really. But thought was suspended when Xuphim held her so, gentle and firm, insecurity wrapped in a thin sheath of self-confidence that she had managed to somehow puncture.

With no breath left in her lungs, Addy’s sound of protest sounded like a gasping sigh when the big Akalak pulled away, her hands reluctant to leave their spot on the back of his head and bringing her up almost standing so that she didn’t have to let go.

Looking down now rather than up, Xuphim could watch the shock as it rolled across her face, the lock of his hair that she has been twisting between her fingers stumbling to a stop as the moment caught up with her. It had been a long time since a kiss had sent her back into a desperate young girl, aching after a man. But her blood pounded in her veins and she felt even a bit light headed.

The feeling was all too real, all too familiar- especially for the usually vague dreams that plagued the young woman, unless they manifested as nightmares. This wasn’t normal. This wasn’t right. Catching on a bit slower than he had, Addy found herself about to ask who the hell he was, when Xuphim beat her to the punch.

Seriously doubting that the big purple man had ever met another Inarta, let alone enough of them to crown her the hottest of them all, Addy wasn’t going to pass up such a glorious compliment, ignoring the question of where she could be found; it wasn’t always the safest bet to tell manifestations of… whatever he was… where to find you. The tales they told the Inarta as Yasi had taught her that much, at least. “Of course I am. The woman of your dreams, that is. Hot and totally into you… what more could anyone want?” The both of them were obviously thrown, Addy plying her dimples to try and hide this fact.

Not to be deterred, the Akalak turned to the introspective, the landscape blurring around them as he obviously tried to fit a surrounding to his new mystery woman, fitting the surrounding to her looks as best he could when she gave no information to support his cause.

It was as if he were flipping through the pages of a picture book, image after image flickering around them only to disappear ticks later; it was a flash of stone and open sky that made Addy call out. “Stop. There… you were close.”

Taking the reins, so to speak, Addy flipped back through until they were sitting on that ledge, suspended above certain death with only a few meters of rock between them an nothing. “Not quite. Lets try…” It only took a moment of focus to take them from the precarious ledge to the top of a mountain, the rocks forming a natural, uneven calf-high wall on all sides that gave the illusion of protection. No wall would help at these heights, but it did give them someplace to sit.

Finally slipping from the big Akalaks lap, Addy took up his hand and drew him towards the edge. If he hesitated there was a bright smile to urge him forward so that he could glimpse the vast forest that spread out beneath them like a dark green carpet. Life was bubbling forth from between the seams, animals capering about on the forest floor that they would have had no way of seeing in reality.

Snowcapped peaks flanked either side of them, contrasting greatly with the green life below, impossibly large eagles swooping out from behind the nearest mountain top to soar slowly and majestically over them. “This is home.” Addy said simply, her voice edged with awe that anyone with eyes would feel upon encountering this view. “Wind Reach.”

Why she was showing him, despite her previous reservations, was beyond her. Something in that moment had clicked and it had felt right. But that didn’t mean she understood anything about what was going on. “But… why do you want to know? How do I know you?” Echoing his earlier question, Addy turned to look up at Xuphim, a frown curling her lips. “If we’re dreaming… does this mean you’re going to come find me when this is all over?”
