Jaai takes a rest after long, lonely days of travel though the wildlands

While Sylira is by far the most civilized region of Mizahar, countless surprises and encounters await the traveler in its rural wilderness. Called the Wildlands, Syliran's wilderness is comprised of gradual rolling hills in the south that become deep wilderness in the north. Ruins abound throughout the wildlands, and only the well-marked roads are safe.

“So you’re wandering. I’m sure that a calling will find you, or perhaps you will find it.” Kayle said, joining Jaai’s cloud gazing.

Kayle tended back to the fire containing his food. He removed the stick from the hot flame and examines the mysterious morsel. The once slimy, moist bit of food has now become dry and flaky. Kayle places his nose near the bit of food, smelling the aroma. It faintly had its previous smell from before it was cook, but the smell of smoke overpowered it. Kayle took a bit out of the food. It was chewy, and didn’t taste half-bad. Kayle munched away on the morsel, and gave some to Ren.

“You’re free to try some. Although, this was the first time I tried this… so it might taste weird.” Kayle said, offering the mysterious morsel.

Music on the Wind

Postby Nemanjak on February 23rd, 2013, 10:55 pm

Nemanjak enjoyed the sight, but he has returned in a flash to the place where the 2 travelers were with some drinks and 3 apples. He asked both of them if they would like some drinks with that food:"I can see you already have food. Would you like some drinks with that? I got from common water, to a cocktail made out of herbs, and don't worry it didn't kill me, it wont kill you. I think.... Yeah, you'll probably want the water.. By the way, I also got a few apples as I ate all the meat I had.

OCC: hahha, and when you are on its 1-2am for me :P Where do you live? I'm in Australia

It was alien to Jaai, sitting around a fire with people, and sharing a meal. It was so diverse from everything the boy knew about gaining peoples attention. The feeling of jubilance that came with it was refreshing. They were still strangers and they didn't really know each other, but Kayle's words gave him hope. A hope that he hadn't felt in a long time. For once he wasn't acting, and he could say, at this moment, he was happy. For real.

He gave Kayle a friendly punch on the shoulder and said "You're one of those optimistic types, aren't you?" He laughed and then continued "But thank-you. You seem like a really great person" Jaai said earnestly. He meant it. Kayle was the nicest person he'd ever met. Well, that wasn't really a feet, Jaai had no friends, yet this guy... he just met him and he already called him 'friend'. Maybe Kayle would view him differently if he shared how he made money for himself.

Kayle offered him the food he'd just cooked. Jaai grinned and said "I'm alright, I've got rations here already"

He looked up as the ape came back "Ah, there you are, monkey-man" He grinned "The apples look tasty, and I'm game to try the cocktail if it didn't kill you, haha" His high spirited greeting would probably be weird for the Jamoura. he'd been so untrusting before, which was understandable (I mean, what kind of guy goes and tells them what type of people he likes to kill when he first meets someone), But Jaai was in a great mood.

OOC NOTEREALLY?! I'm in Australia as well. Are you in NSW?

“heheh, I guess you can say that.” Kayle laughed with Jaai, rubbing his shoulder.
“and you’re a great person as well” Kayle said returning the punch.

It seems Kayle's words have lifted Jaai’s feelings. When Kayle first saw Jaai, he was annoyed, stressed and probably sad in some form. He looked as if he played the flute to ease these feeling, but Kayle knew that burden of emotion required another person. A person who would removes these burdens, setting the other person free. This is one of Kayle’s callings, easing people’s burdens and giving them a hope for freedom. Kayle smiled at jaai and he was about to speak then Neman returned, bearing a drink and three apples.

“Welcome back, Neman” Kayle said, giving Neman a small wave.
“I’ll take the water if you’re offering. Leave me out of the cocktails… I… don’t mix well then them…” Kayle said as he nervously looks at the beverage.

Kayle’s personality is kind, calm and collected. However, this all changes when he drinks. He turns into a foul-mouthed, idiotic, violent and rowdy individual. When he’s drunk, he’ll often indult whatever he can see - and even inanimate objects. Being extremely intolerant to alcohol doesn’t help either. Just a sip can make him beyond tipsy. Because of these flaws, Kayle avoid alcohol.

“Just be careful to two. I don’t want anybody to be hurt, okay?” Kayle said before munching of the morsel he offered Jaai.

Nemanjak gave them what they ordered and has felt like a waiter for a bit, he took a bite out of one apple, and drank a cocktail. "I haven't been drinking one of these things for a while, sure hope I didn't grab the poisoned one. Hahaha.. just kidding, don't worry Jaai. There's a 100% chance it wont kill you, then again, Jamoura are smart, and they protect nature, so they know their plants.

He sits next to the fire, and starts to boil some water over the fire. He asked Kayle for some of his meat and asks if Jaai has some meat in his rations. "I think I learned a bit of cooking in my days of wilderness survival. Mind if I give it a shot?

OCC: I think I must have overestimated the time difference then! That time when we were all continuously posting was around 1-2am for me. I'm in QLD, to answer your question, are you in NSW?

"Hey don't worry, I don't plan to drink a lot" Jaai told Kayle, taking a bite into an apple. and making a contented sound. It was juicy, and fresh. The atmosphere was calm, and joyful. He was already taking a sip when Neman made his little joke about the cocktail being poisoned and ended up spluttering and coughing "Petch" He said to Neman, but his tone was light "Say that before I start drinking it won't you! Hahah"

The cocktail had a weird taste. Jaai didn't drink very much, but he did have a pretty good tolerance to alcohol so he though he was safe. When neman asked for meat, Jaai rummaged inside his pack. He did have some, not an extensive amount. He decided he could spare some, he would be at Sylirus soon anyway "Here" Jaai said handing it to him "Maybe you could show me? I'm not very good at cooking stuff over a fire"

OOC NOTEYes, yes I am from NSW. :)

Kayle gave a hearty chuckle as Jaai spluttered and coughed after he heard what Neman said. The whole scene was quite hilarious - it even brought a tear to Kayle’s eye. Kayle calmed himself down, wiping away the tear.

“It’s nice having friends who have a sense of humor” Kayle said at the end of the scene, patting Jaai’s back.

Neman handed out some of his food and asked for Kayle’s and Jaai’s portion of ration. Jaai spared some of his, but Kayle was already munching down on his. He looks at Neman and his portion of food. Kayle tore off the bitten area, and offered it to Neman.

“I hope you don’t mine it being gnawed on by me, but don’t worry, I tore of the bitten area” he said with his hand stretched over the warm fire.

Nemanjak had a nice laugh when Jaai spluttered and coughed his cocktail. He accepted the food rations and placed some water over the fire to boil. He grabbed a few sticks and stabbed the meat onto one, and balanced it on the others over the already boiled water. He let it cook enjoying the aroma of a nice meal. He said with a typical Jamouran (slow and calm) voice: "It's been years since I had some real company. Heh, sometimes, I wonder why I even left Sunberth.. It was a nice place, other than, you know, the murdering and the stealing. That's probably why I left.

Nemanjak looked at the sky and the Sun, it was a nice day. "It's a nice day. The Sun is out. Just a few clouds. I doubt there's going to be any rain today. So, Kayle, tell me about that city you live in.

All three of them had a good laugh when he spluttered and coughed on his drink. "Its nice having friends with a sense of humour" He said patting jaai on the back Once that scene was over he looked at Neman as he began talking. "Been a long time since I have company like this as well" Jaai realised "I but I wouldn't want to live in a place like that." He said,

"Then again, I'd hate living out here in the wilderness... Hey, Neman, maybe you should come to Sylirus with us?" Jaai said smiling "Long as you don't try to poison me on the way"

Neman looked at the sky and the commented on it being a nice day, to which Jaai nodded at, and then he asked more about Sylirus. Maybe he'd consider visiting? whao knows

“I agree, the day is quite pleasant” Kayle said, joining Neman’s gaze.

The sky had clouds that were scattered around in small clumps, and the sun shone down on the trio - It was still quite cold from the winter season though. The view of the sky was quite pleasant and calming. Neman asked Kayle’s home city, Syliras.

“It’s a nice place, I guess. I usually live in a tent at Sunset falls, but I visit the city every now and then though. So I don’t know the city from the inside out.” Kayle said, scratching under his cheek.

The trio sat by the warm fire, chatting, eating and drinking. Kayle was elated about the fact that everyone is has now became friendly with one another. He remembered at the beginning, when everyone first met, each person was cautious and didn’t have much trust with one another. However, now they joked about poisoning with no issues what so ever. A large smile found its way on to Kayle’s face.

“Friendship, the kindness that bonds people together and allows the individuals to grow strong and a group” Kayle thought to himself as he looked down at Ren, petting her fur in one direction.

Kayle looked back up to see the others with his thought echoing within his mind. His smile softens and took a short breath in before speaking.

“This is nice” Kayle simply stated before, placing his ferret on his shoulder. She eventually jumps on his head.
