After finding the motherless ferret, Aliva took care of the ferret for about two days. She gave the baby ferret the name Reverie, but at the Time Kayle couldn’t pronounce her name, so he called her Ren for short. Alivia enjoyed looking after the ferret, but she already had too many animals to take care of. So she had to hand Ren over to Kayle.

“Wait! I don’t know how to look after a ferret!” Kayle exclaimed.
“I’ll show you, it’s easy.” Alivia said as she handed the ferret over to Kayle.
“W-What do I Feed it?” Kayle asked franticly as he received the ferret.
“Here, these should be what the infants eat” responded Alivia as she passed a bag to Kayle.

Kayle cradled the baby ferret in one arm, and held the bag in the other. Kayle skilful opened the bag with his left hand and peered inside the bag. He saw brownish morsels that look extremely dry, and he also saw a small bag filled with some sort of food.

“I made some dried out food for her. You’ll need to place them in warm water before you feed them to her. Also there is a small bag filled with raisins, you use them to train her.” Alivia explained.
“Wait... train?! How long are you expecting me to take care of her for?” Kayle asked with a shocked look on his face.
“Umm… Forever” Alivia bluntly responded.
“Forever!? Why can’t you look after her?” Kayle asked with an even more shocked look on his face.
“Because I already have so many animals to care for. Livestock and pets are already a handful, and I can’t just leave a motherless ferret to fend for herself…” Aliva Explained.
“So I’m keeping her…?” Kayle said, looking at the ferret in his arms.

Alivia gave Kayle a simple nod, before speaking as she headed off.

“I’ll see you in three or so day! My family is going out the city for a while!” Alivia shouted as she ran.
“Okay! See ya!” Kayle shouted as a response.

Kayle looked at the baby ferret as it stared back at him, its eye’s felt like they were piercing his soul. Kayle heaved a sigh and dragged himself to his make shift home, a tent near close to Sunset Falls. As Kayle walked to his tent, the ferret starts to fidget in his arm. It was squirming and tried to escape the grip of his left arm.

The little furry being escaped and began to crawl up his arm, stopping on top of Kayle’s head. Kayle’s face expressed disapproval to where the ferret rested. Kayle gentle grabbed Ren small and fragile body, and placed her back in his arm. However, she escapes and once again rested on his head. This event repeated until he reached his tent.

"Kindness is the weapon I wield. It's sharper, stronger and more powerful than any blade, and it penetrates someone's heart better than any arrow. it's power doesn't only come from the wielder, but from the hearts of many as well. Kindness isn't a weapon that should be taken lightly."

Kayle gave up on trying to remove the ferret on his head and instead gathered some wood and kindling from the area. He collected some dry leaves that crunched when you grasp it and a few sticks that sat on a dry rock in the sun. Kayle placed the leaves in a small pile near his tent, and began to strike the flint and steel together. Every strike created a bright spark that fell on the leaves. He continues striking the flint and steel, in hope that the sparks create ember. After a while he succeeded to make embers, and he started to gentle blow. However, the embers died and he was forced to try again. He repeated his action and this time he succeeded to create a small fire. He waited for the fire to swallow up the leaves to strengthen itself, before feeding it the dry sticks. One by one, he feed the fire until it grew to a controllable size. Kayle poured some water in to a metal cup and placed it on the fire to warm up, so he could feed the furry creature.

The sky darkened as Kayle waited, he stared at the baby ferret, which finally got off his head. The ferret sat opposite him on the ground, looking up at Kayle. Kayle grunted as he sat down in front of the ferret, He stared into its beady black eyes and it did the same. They continued staring at each other until Kayle blinked, the baby ferret barked as it was displaying its triumph.

“Yeah, yeah… you win.” Kayle said with the bitter taste of defeat in his mouth.

Kayle turns his head to the fire and check the cup of water, using two wet sticks he lifts the cup and places it in front of the fire. He could see the steam rising from the cup. He placed his hand over the steaming cup to make sure it was warm enough to soften the dried out food for the ferret. With his hand over the cup he felt the steam brush against his skin, it was warm. Kayle stood up and walked to the bag near the tent, he opens it at pulls out a dried out morsel. When he walks back to the fire he notices the baby ferret is missing.

“oh… god…” he said, holding the morsel in one hand.

The light of the sky has almost disappeared, and the ferret has gone missing. He knew that there were some predators around the area that would eat the defenceless infant. He needed to find her and fast. Kayle places the morsel in the water and grabbed a stick nearby, hastily wrapped it with leaves and tying it down with dry grass and lit it with the campfire. He ran cautiously throughout the area, looking down so he wouldn’t step on the small creature.

“Ren! Ren!” he yelled out as he searched with torch in hand.

Kayle searched franticly for the little weasel. His make shift torch was falling apart, dropping pieces of burned leaves and grass along his path. The sky is now dark, and the clouds seem to have formed. The moon only gave a minute amount of light, enough to faintly make out the surrounding. Kayle wanders around the area, trying to avoid trees. He walked with his arms stretched out, waving them like a fool in the dark. He does his best to keep an eye on the barely visible ground, making sure he doesn’t step on the ferret.

Suddenly a rustling noise was heard. It sounded like some sort of animal in a tree above. Kayle looked up, widening his eyes in how he could see better view of the creature.

“Ren? Is that you?” He said to the rustling noise above.

Kayle continued to stare at the tree’s top. He waited until the noise stop, and then a snarling noise was heard. The noise queued Kayle to run away, and he did without a second thought. He scrabbled through the unseen forest, hitting trees along the way. His heart raced as he could still hears the snarling noise following him. He looks back, but it was no good… he couldn’t see anything.

Kayle ran towards a light, it was the fire he lit. He continues sprinting, avoiding the trees that are now visible because of the campfire in the distance. The snarling noise soon became a barking noise. Kayle now thought it was a wolf that was chasing him. He felt his heart ponding harder and faster each time he heard the bark. He reached the camp fire, coughing and out of breath. He couldn’t the barking noise anymore. Did it give up? He thought. Suddenly Kayle remembered.

“Ren… Ren? Ren?!” He shouted, remembering why he entered the forest area.

He looks around the lit area franticly, and then collapses on the floor near a shrub by his tent. He was exhausted and hungry. He looked at the fire, it need more wood to stay alit. The flame danced and Kayle spoke to himself.

“Alivia is going to kill me…” he murmured, beared a long faced expression.

Suddenly the barking noise returns. However, the noise didn’t come from the forest from where he came out of, but the bush near his head. Kayle was frozen in fear. He was on the ground exhausted and facing the bush. The bush rustled and the barking got louder and louder. Kayle's heart thumped. His mind goes blank. His muscles won’t move. He watched at the creature emerges from the bush slowly, barking it way out. Kayle closed his eyes, preparing for the jaws of death to clamp down on him. The barking noise continued getting louder each bark. However, it soon became high pitched and squeaky. With Kayle eyes closed he furrows his brow in confusion. All of a sudden, he felt something clamp down on his nose. It was wet and warm, and it had the smell of meat. Kayle opens his eyes to see that Ren was attached to his nose.

“Ren?” he said in confusion.

Suddenly he looked back at all of the events in the forest. He remembered that in certain spots in the area, noise is amplified and echoed. So it turned Ren’s bark into a loud vicious one. Kayle felt very stupid. With an annoyed expression on his face, he grabs Ren by the scruff and lifts her up, placing her by the camp fire opposite to him. Kayle add more wood the fire and stares at Ren.

“You cause a lot of trouble for me you know” Kayle said in a stern voice as he scolds Ren.
“That was very naughty” he added, picking up the cup with Ren's food.

He looks into the cup and saw that the morsel absorbed all of the water from the cup, leaving behind a warm brownish blob. Kayle empties the contents in it his hand. It was firm abut squishy at the same time. He moved his head towards the morsel and smelt it. The smell was very unique, smelt like meat and vegetables all mixed together. Kayle wasn’t brave enough to eat the blob, so he crouched down to Ren who seemed upset from his scolding.

“Ren, please don’t scare me like that okay?” He said with kindness in his voice as he offers the brown morsel.
“Just don’t do it again and it will be okay” he said smiling at the ferret.

Ren stared at Kayle for a moment then began eating the morsel, and Kayle prepared his own food and at that for his dinner.

Kayle and Ren both lay in the tent. Kayle was in his bedroll, and Ren was wrapped in a winter blanket. Kayle stared at the roof of the tent, listening to the sleeping sound of Ren.

“Ren?” he said, not sure if he was expecting an answer.
“I want to ask you something… What was it like being found and held? You know, by Alivia? I know what it feels like when you lose your parents, it quite sad and you feel alone, lost. I didn’t have the pleasure of being found Alivia… I sort of envy you.” Kayle said to the sleeping ferret.
“I wish I was you, I wish I was held by her. Then again, I’m just a friend she met here, at the water fall.” He said as he tossed himself onto his side.
“I guess some things are meant to be that way.” He muttered

Sleep soon grabs hold of Kayle and he slumbers through the night. Only two more days alone with the ferret remain.
