While Sylira is by far the most civilized region of Mizahar, countless surprises and encounters await the traveler in its rural wilderness. Called the Wildlands, Syliran's wilderness is comprised of gradual rolling hills in the south that become deep wilderness in the north. Ruins abound throughout the wildlands, and only the well-marked roads are safe.

"Well if you insist on talking," Aello hissed under her breath as she turned to offer the knight a glare, "it will be," she finished, as she turned herself back around and continued walking. Following the trail as her fist tightened around the bow, no longer caring if Markus was following or not.
For awhile she simply glided until everything came to an end, the rabbit resting by a tree, nibbling on leaves.
An arrow, she plucked and laced onto her bow. Deftly pulling back the string and taking aim, releasing too soon. Or perhaps too late, for she missed her mark and soon the meat was gone.
"Damn," she muttered under her breath as she went to retrieve. Ending the hunt.
Ending the session with the falling sun. |

Markus frowned when the forest lady snapped back at him for raising his voice. A year earlier he would have retorted with some lame insult that she was just upset she wasn't half the huntress she thought she were. But he had matured beyond that... It didn't hurt either that she could probably have him gutted with one of those daggers before he had the bastard out. So he remained silent. Did not snap back. Instead, he turned back and let her hunt alone.
Division of labour, she was a much better hunter than he, even with the failure to spot any prey thus far, he was in the way and to be honest, he had probably been looking at her rear more than he had been paying attention to the trail she had followed. He would set up a camp for the night and prepare for her return. At least it would give him some time away from the upset woman. He had barely made it out of her sight before he felt like a free man again. Not having to guard every action to not be ridiculed by the woman. Backtracking was much easier than expected, it helped a great deal that Markus weighed over two hundred pounds. He left his mark in the wilds, whether he liked it or not. |
The end!
