[Kiyeri's Scrapbook] Under The Ivy

It wouldn't take me long
To tell you how to find it
To tell you where we'll meet
This little girl inside me
Is retreating to her favourite place
Go into the garden, go under the ivy
Under the leaves, away from the party
Go right to the rose
Go right to the white rose
I sit here in the thunder
The green on the gray
I feel it all around me
And it's not easy for me
To give away a secret
It's not safe
To go into the garden, go under the ivy
Under the leaves, away from the party
Go right to the rose
Go right to the white rose
Go into the garden, go under the ivy
Go under the leaves with me
Go right to the rose
Go right to the white rose
I'll be waiting for you
It wouldn't take me long
To tell you how to find it
And in the spring I shed my skin
And it blows away with the changing wind
The waters turn from blue to red
As towards the sky I offer it

[Kiyeri's Scrapbook] Under The Ivy

O mother dear
Look what you've done
To your forlorn and once beloved son
Why was I born at all?
O mother dear
I'm such a freak
A mutant man, a woman underneath
Why was I born at all?

It's you I blame for all the shame
This anguish and this aching
The mirror turned against the wall
Myself despised, forsaken
You say, "Beauty is within us, your mother knows"
"There's a beauty that's within us, just like a rose"
You say, "Beauty is within us, so let it grow"
But it's grown so dark and ugly

O mother dear
I curse you so
For breathing life into your wretched son
Why were you born at all?

O mother dear
I love you so
O please forgive this anger in my soul
Without you I'm alone

It's me who's been eternally damned
Trapped inside this cage, a ruined man
All damaged and depraved

O mother dear
This misery
Has settled like a stain upon my skin
-a vast unspoken sin

And my mistake is much too late
But your mistake was trusting
That out of grief, a goodness comes
And love comes out of lusting

You say, "Beauty is within us, your mother knows"
"There's a beauty that's within us, just like a rose"
You say, "Beauty is within us, so let it grow"
But it's grown so dark and ugly

You say, "Beauty is within us, your mother knows"
"There's a beauty that's within us, just like a rose"
You say, "Beauty is within us, so let it grow"
But it's grown so dark I can not see you anymore

"O beauty is within us, mother knows"
"O beauty is within us, like a rose"
"O beauty is within us, let it grow"
O mother dear, let me out of here!
And in the spring I shed my skin
And it blows away with the changing wind
The waters turn from blue to red
As towards the sky I offer it

Talking, what's it good for?
Absolutely nothing.
Wrestle, let's wrestle.
You can pin me to anything.

Thought I saw you in the seaweed.
Thought I saw you in a forest flame.
I'll fill up the silence with the sound of your holy name.

Knowledge of the sea-ways, knowledge of how the water flows.
Whoever coined the phrase has never had to brave the snow.
I climbed the shroud to the top-sail and I peeked through the glass.
The curvature bisected by the wintry mizzen mast.

The scar upon my stomach, I call it my Flying V.
And every time I show it, I can feel your eyes on me.
How many islands will surrender to the blunderbuss?
And, how long must we sail before you show your face to us?

Followed him out to the end of the pier.
"Don't come any closer," he cried, "I am afraid
Of the man I'll become if I lay my
Life down for a people that I don't even care for."
Face to his face, I put my
Hand into his and I tried to tell him, "No,
I've seen his work upon the panes of cathedrals,
In the sweat of the workers and the flight of the seagulls."

My words were drowned out by the sound
Of the motors and rowers, the ship as it ran aground
And from the trees came a thousand soldiers.
I went down on my knees with a spear in my shoulder.
About face, about face, I swam back
To the Victoria. I shiver with the
Memory, memory of the island dwellers
And the indifferences of the Storyteller.
And in the spring I shed my skin
And it blows away with the changing wind
The waters turn from blue to red
As towards the sky I offer it

So, this is Kiyeri's scrapbook. I'm going to use it as a dumping ground for music and images and maybe some snippets of her growing up.

Obligatory slideshow, starting....now.

i live between concrete walls
when i took her up she was so warm
i live between concrete walls
in my arms she was so warm

eyes are open the mouth cries
haven't slept since summer
eyes are open the mouth cries
haven't slept since summer

i live between concrete walls
when i took her up she was so warm
i live between concrete walls
in my arms she was so warm

oh how i try
i leave the tv on and the radio
oh how i try
i leave the tv on and the radio

[Kiyeri's Scrapbook] Under The Ivy

The looking glass, so shiny and new
How quickly the glamour fades
I start spinning, slipping out of time
Was that the wrong pill to take? (Raise it up)

You made a deal, and now it seems you have to offer up
But will it ever be enough? (Raise it up, raise it up)
It's not enough (Raise it up, raise it up)

Here I am, a rabbit hearted girl
Frozen in the headlights
It seems I've made the final sacrifice

We raise it up, this offering
We raise it up

This is a gift, it comes with a price
Who is the lamb and who is the knife?
Midas is king and he holds me so tight
And turns me to gold in the sunlight

I look around, but I can't find you (raise it up)
If only I could see your face (raise it up)
Instead of rushing towards the skyline (raise it up)
I wish that I could just be brave

I must become a lion hearted girl
Ready for a fight
Before I make the final sacrifice

We raise it up, this offering
We raise it up

This is a gift, it comes with a price
Who is the lamb and who is the knife?
Midas is king and he holds me so tight
And turns me to gold in the sunlight

Raise it up, raise it up
Raise it up, raise it up

And in the spring I shed my skin
And it blows away with the changing wind
The waters turn from blue to red
As towards the sky I offer it

This is a gift, it comes with a price
Who is the lamb and who is the knife?
Midas is king and he holds me so tight

This is a gift, it comes with a price

And now, it's time for...

WHY DID YOU PETCHING MAKE THIS CHARACTER?

Ah yes...why did I decide to make a wimpy, cowardly excuse of a Myrian like her in the first place?

Simple. It's more fun that way.

Sure, she could be just as bloodthirsty as the next Myrian, but hey, it can get old. Plus, there had to be that one Jane or John Doe that just...didn't quite fit in, but wanted to, but they were still too much of a pussy at times. Hence, I made Kiyeri. She's scrappy, she's boastful, she's extremely nervous (yet excited) at the idea of being a warrior...but she has no clue at doing it. Her mother despised her. She was the youngest kid and the only people that cared about her were her dad and grandma...and maybe her sisters and her fair-weathered friends.

I wanted to make, by all intents and purposes, 'a loser'. I wanted to create someone who was so used to being at the back of the line that they couldn't tell the back from the front.

I guess what I'm trying to say is...I make complicated PCs.
And in the spring I shed my skin
And it blows away with the changing wind
The waters turn from blue to red
As towards the sky I offer it

Miri

Image

Image

Name: Miri of the Scarskin Clan

Age: Nineteen

Occupation: Priestess of Myri

As children, she and Kiyeri formed a bond, and along with Sela and her brothers, Ma'ka and Tsu'lek, became a circle of friends. During their adolescence, they grew less close, and their friendship was that of the fair weathered variety. Eventually, Kiyeri's personality and over excitement caused them all to be alienated from her in certain degrees.

Miri has recently become engaged to Ma'ka, Kiyeri's childhood rival and 'crush'.

Sela
Secret :
Image

Image

Name: Sela of the Tiger Claw clan

Age: Twenty-One

Occupation: Warrior

Although slightly older than Kiyeri, Sela was a surrogate sibling to her and formed a friendship that included her two younger brothers and a girl named Miri. She was a bit rougher and more dedicated to the life of a warrior than Kiyeri was and took her training far more seriously. As teens, she grew tired of Kiyeri laziness, and tried to chide her out of it, but eventually the friendship grew cold and officially broke at the announcement of her exile status. Sela is now a parent and married to another woman.
