Edge of the World

The little Singer had found herself wondering around Wind Reach, contemplating her singing, song writing, and of course her magic. She was in need of much meditation, and needed a spot to do so. It did not have to be really quiet, though that would be nice, but somewhere open and full of air. Aradia left the cities busy interior and headed to its more calm exterior. Traversing the rocks and cliffs carefully she made her way to a prominent massive cliff. It jutted out from a flat plateau, some of the mountain jutting upwards into the sky.

Aradia made her way to the plateau, frowning at the strong bushes and dried patches of grass that were sporadically scattered around. She was worried about the wind blowing her away, but it seemed that the sides of the plateau buffered much of the wind, so the risk of being blown off was not as great. She glanced around and did not see anyone around, which if there was someone they would probably be attempting to climb the frightful looking edge, that laid against the gorgeous and colorful wall.

Not feeling up for a climb today, she sat down on the plateau enjoying the breath of fresh air, and the peaceful surroundings. She crossed her left leg over her right, sitting in a focusing style. The Singer straightened her back, and placed her palms on her knees. She closed her eyes, breathing in large calming breaths through her nose, and exhaling in large breaths out of her mouth, ridding her lungs completely of air. She did this maneuver repeatedly, focusing on her breathing, as she let her mind drift away from her body.

The mixed blood sat there for a bell, sitting lost in her meditation. Breathing in, breathing out. No longer was she focused on her breathing, no longer was she concentrating on anything. She was free from all that, lost in the peace of her meditation.

[End of the World] You Again!?

Postby Darren on April 8th, 2013, 2:17 am

Running around constantly one is constantly sees places they would not normally go near. Whether to break the monogamy or just to because he was a perfectionist Darren was pushing himself higher and farther every time his exercises needed a change. Understanding that there were some areas he could not visit that did not stop Darren Whitevine from exploring everything else Wind Reach had to offer. One day he would start venturing not up but deeper into the mountain for his runs. The Vantha smiled as he simply guessed what awaited for him inside the mountain. That was definitely going to be fun.

This particular run Darren found himself running through some every changing degree of slopes until he was nearing a plateau. Slowly getting acclimated to the mountain air and the warm Kalea had to offer in the springtime Darren had already taken precautions to fight overworking and in turn overheating himself. Pumping his legs with vigor Darren passed made a pass through both workplaces he had been busying himself with so far. Quickly checking in at the Dreaming Lady making sure he wasn't actually needed that day Darren sprinted up to the infirmaries in turn feeling already his legs grow hot and his breathing into a controlled rhythm.

Breathing in with his nose and exhaling hot air forward Darren merely poked his head inside trying to otherwise avoid being seen by the staff on hand. His massages was an experience similar to bear mauling if he was left alone with his mismatched concept on healing the body. Today Darren was little more then a tramp pushing himself to whatever limit he had. The real Vantha inside him stirred viciously with each day left to idle. So to cope with this raging desire Darren had to find more everyday exercises where he could practice his flux. So far it was only mere jittering and flexes when he directed his body's pathways to explode with energy.

Right then and there Darren was looking for any excuse feeling he was trembling with power. Already Darren could feel individual pathways throughout his bodies compared to the mere lumps of area he would direct his body's natural energies to. Left ring, pant* right calf, right shoulder, pant* left forearm, right tight, pant* left buttocks, pant* abdominals, right hand. Making a habit of picking out random strings from his mind The Vantha would try to remember the entirety of how each felt when he released it's limitations.

Though Wind Reach did much to inhibit any real feats of magic and the like Darren had quite an abundance of time to polish his understanding, reassure what did what in terms of flux and to test each assumption he has made so far. In a way he was practicing flux but in a more subtle tone. Never thought that a punch involved more on my shoulder muscles then my actual arm. The Vantha's inner music was interupted as a clearing in sight gave Darren exactly what he wanted. The perfect change for him to sprint to his heart's desire, a chance to perhaps practice flux again.

Bringing his arms ready before leaning forward and exploding the pathways in his body. Each impulse an order to explode each side of his body quickly and efficiently. Leaning in forward, a sudden friction from the wind and the feeling of his body alight Darren advanced quickly reaching his top speed in such a small time one could count how many seconds it took on one hand. There came the feeling of exhilaration that his body was doing something few did there came that absolute feeling his confidence thrived in.

His breathing barely gasps the Vantha could only fit in short miniscule breaths of air as the rest of his body slowly but surely started to sag from the lack of air running through his system. Sprinting past half a chime nearing in on almost for a full rotation Darren finally relented as his body relaxed. Keeping up a small gait Darren slowed down well past his initial pace. Letting out an exasperation of pure passion Darren urged himself onward feeling as if he stretched himself with that little show of flux. “More. I need more.”

Having a self imposed session of closing off part of his body the vantha's infatuation with his need to unleash his true self well sated after one shorter sprinting session Darren found himself barely jogging as he saw a hanging cliff on one side of the mountain. They say you couldn't ideally maintain your top speed for too long. So instead people focused on stalling near that high point before completely going for it and declining later. A trial all flux practitioners in time will try to observe and master.

“I can't wait.” The Vantha overcome with his feelings of release in a long time Darren felt a influx of energy he did not have since his earlier adventures in the mountain. It felt like a part of him returned after all and was excited to explore Wind Reach once more. It was happy, powerful and wanting to do something exhilarating. Peering up Darren slowly observed the structure with each step closer to the strange cliff. There was something else there too, was that? It was.

Breathing heavily Darren of course could not help but regard the curious arrangements the pegs and ropes the wall had. Inarta actually climbed this? Shaking his head Darren briskly turned her attention to the meditating half-inarta smiling fearlessly despite what early divisions the two of them might have had. Walking over to Adaria Darren leaned on the stone wall for a moment to catch his breathe before joining sitting besides her.

Mediations were good, they were a reflection of one's past, present situation and possible futures. However the Vantha almost feverish from the amount of adrenaline coursing through him waited until she regarded his presence like the roguish vantha he was. In any case Darren moved without consideration. Brushing his face upon Adaria's cheek Darren brought her chin up as he leaned in over her. “Morning Sunshine.” Barreling in Darren took what he believed was his for the taking. Feeling her lips upon hers Darren yearningly pushed in farther forcing Adaria back into the canyon.

OOCDon't feel like you have to take that kiss from Darren if you don't want it. Just him and his manly impulses.

The sense and feeling of peace overwhelmed her body, gone was the worries, the stresses, the sadness, the anger. None of that really seemed to matter anymore. All she could feel was the muscles in her body becoming fluid, relaxed, and the rhythmic expansion and compression of her lungs, as she breathed in and then exhaled out. The Reimancer began to focus, focusing on her inner Djed. Stroking, playing with the power that lay inside. It was pure energy, making the little singer feel stronger somehow.

Aradia began to concentrate, keeping the peace with in herself, she focused on the tips of her fingers, she held her focused on her Djed, and concentrated that power to the tips of her index and middle finger. Letting the Djed expel into a glowing purple Res. The Djed was beautiful in that form, and she held it there for a couple of chimes, admiring the vibrant glowing color. Then she dug in deeper, into her own will power. Breahting in and out slowly, she focused a little harder on her Djed, creating two pea sized balls that hovered above her two finger tips. It was not easy work to manipulate the Res into a shape, it took her extreme focus on the task, but within five chimes she had formed two small balls, and smiled as they were just hovering over her sharpened nail tips.

With the small shape formed, it was time to focus once again on her Djed, and begin igniting the outer layer of the small balls. The Reimancer inhaled a deep breath, letting it out slowly, as the outer layers of the balls ignited, setting on fire. She let the balls of fire hover of her finger tips, for a couple of chimes, moving them this way and that, letting them roll across her other finger tips.

With another inhale and exhale, she kept her focus on the small balls of fire, as she began to touch her Djed once more. Once again she became calm, confident, and ready. She kept a touch on her Djed, as she began to concentrate on placing a shield around one of the pea sized balls of fire. This she knew would take a long time, and she was prepared for that. With in ten chimes she felt confident enough to begin to extrude her Djed. Aradia inhaled a deep breath, exhaling on the first pea sized ball of fire. She worked fiercly at forming the shield into a small ball, trying to task it around the fire. She of course did not manage to make the right shape, instead it come out as a triangle, not even covering the whole ball of fire. She let the shield drop, shrugging her shoulders; she would try shielding again later.

With her index and middle finger of the opposite hand, she thumped the two little balls of fire off of her hand, watching them soar through the sky a little ways, before completely falling apart, since her Djed could not reach long distances to hold them together. The Reimancer sighed, and closed her eyes, going back into meditative trance, focusing on the swelling and compressing of her lungs, as she breathed in and out slowly.

Aradia was so lost in her meditative trance, she did not hear another person come up. The familiar sound of a Vantha Male’s voice made her frown, her eyes still closed. She opened her eyes to see if it was Darren, and saw him coming straight for her. She made a little gasping noise, as his lips pressed against hers. My first kiss was not supposed to be like this! Aradia said excitedly. She liked the feel of a male’s lips on her own, but it was not romantic, so maybe it didn’t count. Either way, the little Singer slapped the side of Darren’s head and frowned at him.

Silly Storm Cloud… Now you are my first… the first to kiss me that is. Aradia said sternly, although she said this sternly there was a small smile on her lips, and mirth in her voice, Now I am going to be infatuated with you…. Follow you everywhere. Aradia laughed softly, shaking her head from side to side.

Although the Vantha had a bad attitude, and his words stung her quite often, she still was fond of him. She enjoyed his company; she had not been around a Vantha since her father. Aradia brought her finger tips to her lips, and then let her hand fall as her tongue sweeped over her lower lip. She could not help but wonder if kissing felt that good, why everyone was not kissing all the time. It made her stomach do a flip to feel the male close to her, and his lips on her own. She knew Darren was used to such things, he was such a womanizing prick. Aradia let her thoughts drop, and looked back over to Darren, What brings you to… the middle of nowhere? Aradia asked, shoving Darren softly on the shoulder. She was in a playful mood today, the meditation made her feel so light and mellow, and she enjoyed the way all her worries, fears, and negativities just fell away from her.

[End of the World] You Again!?

Postby Darren on April 9th, 2013, 3:45 am

"Few are so lucky." Lightly nursing the side of his head giving Adaria a cynical look the Vantha wondered for a moment how exactly she was taking his surge of sudden spirit. A light smile touched his lips giving Adaria one of his sidelong stares. "You know what they way. A man want to be a woman's first love. A woman wants to be a man's final love."

Swiftly propping himself up Darren did a light stretch as he readied himself to possibly continue on with his magical exercises in mind. Shrugging slightly Darren just inhered that the mixed blood would not know what me meant if he was just honest. "The Flux. It calls me even though I am without an opponent or training facility at the ready. Just more one of many things pent up inside me." His mind already wandering well off Darren was brought back to attention having Adaria's shove push him farther then she intended.

"You said you were going to follow me around now?" A look of challenge was in his eyes trying to put on a menacing front. "You will learn to regret those words Adaria." Though a light tease it was still saturated with every bit of the Vantha's harshness. Averting his gaze slightly and breathing freely Darren looked up at the wall wondering slightly if his body would react scaling up along a wall. It was after all a form of unconventional travel.

"What about you? I hope you are not looking for trouble." Gesturing to himself proudly Darren made a feint at Adaria before relaxing once more. "Cause you know what happens? You find it. Though in time I think you'll like my brand of trouble." Reaching over Darren grasped Adaria's shoulder trying to start something, though completely unsure what it was he was provoking.

Aradia smiled at his remark. He was right she supposed. Men did seem to be sexual beasts, always hunting for a woman, then moving on to the next, while women fell into a heart broken heap at the man whore leaving them. That was why she was not in a relationship, and planned on staying single for a while. Heart break was something she never wanted to experience, it looked dreadful.

Aradia sighed and shrugged her shoulders, uncrossing her legs, and stretching them out in front of her. Darren mentioned something, something vaguely familiar in her readings. Flux. She had read something about that when she was reading up on her Reimancy and Shielding magic. It was a type of magic, but she could not remember what it did exactly. ”Flux? That is a type of magic, right? I remember reading that when I was practicing my own magic. But I do not remember what it did exactly.” Aradia said calmly in common, with a shrug of her shoulders.

The subject changed to the words she had said earlier about following him around now. She was only teasing the man, but it seemed he took it seriously. The harshness of his words would have shocked her, had she not already experienced his attitude before. Oh Darren. I was only kidding; I would not bestow such an honor as me following you around. Though I may surprise you… Aradia said with a small laugh, switching back to Vani for the man. Devious plans started to churn in her head. Maybe she would surprise him, maybe find out where he works, show up there, and annoy him with her happy atmosphere that he seemed to dislike so. Aradia chuckled to herself at her plans.

Aradia jumped a little at Darren’s faint, but just smiled and shook her head. Silly Vantha… Aradia thought happily to herself. The man’s bad attitude and bold ways were really starting to rub off on her. Trouble huh?... I might like the trouble I get in with you though.” Aradia winked at the man, about to say something else about just kidding, but before she could speak he had grabbed her shoulders. Aradia frowned down at his hands, then looked back up at his face. “I know I am irresistible… But if you do not loosen your grip… I will have to hurt you. Aradia did not back down, or shy away, like she normally would in normal social situations. She simply stared into those ever changing eyes of his she adored, her voice soft but laced with a harsh sternness.

"I knew that." Obviously. Though the Whitevine would not considered dragging around another person to be an honor he had to admit the process was rewarding with the right people. "I don't like surprises." Offering a smile this time Darren's mood quickly soured to make a point. "Seriously though. Hate them." It wasn't because that he disliked the occasional joke the feeling stemmed from acting incorrectly at certain intervals and doing something he might regret later on.

Winking back Darren did not deter as Adaria called up a challenge. "Hurt me? You? I don't think you could even if you tried." Moving closer Darren gave Adaria a mocking look before clamping down with his hand. "Same offer as before. First hit's free. I warn you though. I won't hesitate." Backtracking a few paces Darren threw his hand's up before looking away from Adaria. "Feel free." Without moving his head Darren's eyes centered on Adaria giving off a sadistic red hue before looking away from the mixed blood.

She was disappointed to hear he hated surprises, but even the more reason for her to do it. She had to plot up a scheme, a joke, though to make it interesting. Maybe she could even have those he worked with get involved. It would be epic either way, and maybe it would piss him off, or maybe he could have grown a sense of humor by then and laugh it off.

Aradia laughed at the man’s words. She had lived in Ravok, a place where people found ways of hurting others, which was not physical. He had no idea how sadistic this sweet singer actually could be, if provoked. But she stayed silent, her face an emotionless mask as he took a few paces backwards and threw his hands up.

Aradia gave the man a small smile, shaking her head from side to side, ”Oh sweet Darren. I would never be able to give you physical harm.” Aradia chuckled, ”You possess flux, which has something to do with fighting. You would beat me in a matter of ticks. No… I was not meaning this kind of pain.” Aradia smiled and walked up to Darren, wrapping her arms around his neck, she leaned in and whispered in the Vantha’s ear, ”There are other ways to cause another harm… more painful than punching them.” The Singer leaned back from his ear, winking at him, and then dropping her arms at her sides, taking a step back.

"And anyways... There are better things to do besides... that." Aradia said looking over at the climbing wall, then back at Darren, "Wanna attempt it?" Aradia said with a daring voice.

[End of the World] You Again!?

Postby Darren on April 11th, 2013, 8:21 am

Adaria was right. Though she didn't know Darren was harmless as a mouse. "We can always try and see." Giving a sarcastic grin the Vantha wouldn't have minded a little target practice at his expense. The changes of him getting shot at was scary enough but one didn't get any experiences by picking easy situations.

Scoffing slightly at the rise from Adaria Darren could not help but feel how he felt. Of course Darren mostly felt he was through dealing of female fetales but they could never seem to leave him alone. Either that or he just invoked such varied responses from other people. "I know. That's why I punch them and get it over with."

Pressing his knuckle across the mixed blood's chin he applied some pressure in an attempt to ward off the possible invitation. Darren wasn't a sadist. Not after that leeching session with that beautiful Frostfawn back home. "Why not give what I want a try?"

Rolling his eyes slightly Darren shrugged at the wall before him. The temptation to just cheat and almost hop up from peg to peg seemed too easy. "You said you knew what flux did right? I suggest you don't challenge me in something physical then."

Granted it would be just fine for him to watch. After all he needed to figure out how to finally seduce Adaria once and for all. "You go on ahead. I'll just watch and enjoy the view. Maybe I'll go follow you if you reach the top. No promises though and that IF you reach the top."

Aradia just shrugged off Darren’s reply with a shrug of her left shoulder. Resorting to punching people in the face was ignorant in her opinion, but she was not going to tell him that. So instead she just ignored his comments, and focused on the rock climbing wall. It looked to be the beginners climbing wall, so maybe it would be easy. Too easy for Mr. Flux knowitall for sure. He even told her not to challenge him in anything physical, so it was obvious he saw no challenge in it either. But she wanted to pick at him either way, ”Afraid a weak little girl like me is going to beat you?” Aradia said taunting, moving her head from side to side, laughing lightly, ”You take things too seriously. I was not challenging you, but…. I may need help…. I may slip.” Aradia explained with a sigh.

She was not meaning to challenge the Vantha man, she just thought it would have been a good bonding experience. She was not going to give up on being his friend yet, at least not so soon. Aradia believed the man to have a soft interior to that hard exterior he portrayed so often, and she was determined to dig through until she found the softness that she knew, hoped, lied inside.

Darren told her to go ahead, and if she made it to the top he would follow behind her. Aradia shrugged her shoulders, nodded her head, and walked slowly up towards the intimidating wall. Aradia looked over her shoulder, giving the man a weak smile, she wasn’t going to back down now, she had came too far. Plus she needed to prove to the man that she wasn’t as weak as he thought she was. She saw a rope dangling a little further over, and so she began with placing her foot in one of the foot holes that peppered the side. Her whole body was shaking already, her nervousness and fright making it tremble. Aradia gulped loudly, then placed a hand in one of the holes and heaved herself unto the wall. Placing her other foot and hand in a hole. Aradia clung to the wall for dear life, just staying in one place for a couple of chimes as her body trembled with the effort and fright of tumbling to her death.

Aradia inhaled a deep breath, and slowly moved sideways, towards the rope, her salvation. It was not an easy task, as Aradia refused to look down to where her feet should go, to look down at how high she was up. So finding the foot holes was a challenge for the little singer, as she kept her body pressed against the stone wall, moving slowly towards the rope. After five chimes she made it to the rope. She glanced over at it, and froze. She would have to remove her hand from one of the metal rods, remove herself from the safety of clinging on. Oh, but her muscles were so tired already from holding her body up and pressed so closely against the wall. Aradia squeezed her eyes shut, taking in a deep breath, then letting it out, slowly like she was meditating. It helped her ease up a little, and she glanced back over at the dangling salvation. Aradia reached out with her arm, stretching her finger tips towards the rope. They brushed the rope a few times, making the inexperienced rock climber give a frustrated yell. Finally she grabbed the rope.

She smiled happily as she held the rope in one hand, then placed it in the other. Her body was more relaxed in this slightly leaning position, and she began to use the role to pull herself upwards, placing her feet into the peppered foot holes. After about 10 chimes she had almost made her way to the top. Before she could make it and yell in triumph though, her foot slipped on one of the foot holes and she grabbed and clung to the rope. This of course made both feet loose their footing. So she was wrapped around the dangling rope, holding on for dear life.

”Oh my stars… Help!” Aradia yelled frantically as her breathing started to speed up, her chest moving up and down rapidly. An anxiety attack was imminent as the little singer, the inexperienced rock climber, clung to the rope, tears falling as she started to heave breaths. Her throat began to close up as the anxiety attack started to take over her body. ”Darren please help!” Aradia yelled in Vani, hoping to get the man’s attention with his language, as the anxiety attack enveloped her, her breathing becoming harsher, more rapid; she was close to fainting now for the lack of oxygen her anxiety attack was letting in. But she held on, tried to hold on, as she dangled, holding on for dear life, looking down at the death that was sure to follow if she were to fall.

OOCPoor clumsy Aradia :(! Hahaha.

[End of the World] You Again!?

Postby Darren on April 13th, 2013, 8:31 am

"Don't joke around about that. Little girls are absolutely vicious monsters sometimes." Shifting uncomfortable at the thought Darren didn't make any attempt to hide that was his honest opinion on the matter. "Which is another reason you shouldn't be doing this." Obvious concern in his eyes was quickly washed away with a mild "hmph" of annoyance as he moved back away from the wall Adaria was planning to climb.

"By all means go on. It's not like it matters to me if you put yourself in that position." Scoffing and rolling his eyes Darren made the off colored joke by accident realizing now what he said. "Just don't blame me if anything goes wrong. I'm not the one putting myself in danger" Not quite buying her nervous smile Darren shooed Adaria away as he stood stoic, possibly worrying or maybe bored.

Quietly taking note of Adaria's prowess Darren was more or less neutral about the way she presented herself to the Vantha. Good in some ways but could be improved, it's good she challenged herself like this. Normally Darren himself would have tried to challenge himself but found the possiblity of acrophobia was part of his hodophobia. However this small situation presented Darren to observe exactly how Inarta and Adaria in particular dealt with such obstacles.

Nearing the halfway mark in decent time Darren found himself silently rooting for that young Inarta mixed blood. After all it was that extra Vantha inside her that made her special. Her breathing has been good so far, possibly alluding to something that just slipped the Vantha mind at this time. "Good so far. I'm liking what I'm seeing."

Disaster struck and Darren found himself slightly annoyed by Adaria's situation. Did she not see she was nearly there? Keeping quiet Darren merely played with the idea of taunting her having come so close to the end just to... "You can do it. Trust yourself." Darren's eyes receding to it's usual relaxed blue tone Darren shrugged slightly as if this problem was inconsequential. Still he would have to give more then just that to spur her on. "I'm here if you need me but you don't. Dig deep. You'll reach the top."
