A half-collapsed city of alabaster and gold fiercely governed by Eypharians. Even partially ruined, it is the crown of the desert and a worthy testament to old glories and rising powers.

Time. For two men its inevitable passage held different meaning, each a tipping stone upon opposite sides of the same scale held by the graceless hand of Enmity.

For Gideon, three days was more than enough time to detach his mind from the burden of work and lose himself in small and meaningless comforts. When not ensuring that the man he’d been sent to collect on was attempting to flee the city, the sellsword could be found playing cards and emptying cups of vinegar slaked beer with the dregs of Ahnatep at The Scorched Skull in the Pillars of Dust; a perfect place to remain hidden from the public eye, so long as one avoided the most violent of brawls the tavern was renowned for.

For Na’il re Kahin on the other hand, three days was just enough time for his fear of unpaid debts to evolve into paranoia. Discomfiture filled his veins like poison, darkening his mind until the idea of revenge consumed his every thought. There was danger to be found in such entitled men. Bruised egos demanded retribution all too frequently, and when such men had resources and unscrupulous contacts like Kahin’s, finding muscle to handle a human demon sent from Rhysol’s darkest dungeon proved quite simple. Just as long as the money was good.

But perhaps the only obstacle in the Eypharian’s meddling path rested with time. Three days had been given as a gift to scrounge for the money he owed to an entity whose only representative was a man more vile than a pile of rotting excrement. It was hardly enough time to plan given his other obligations that fed his pockets, much less discern any meaningful information about who his assailant was and whom he worked for. If all went according to plan tonight however, the end of the third day, answers would be given…one way or another.
