27th Day of Spring, 513
Early morning

Kysus' tits her head hurt. Every muscle strained to perform the simplest task, her vision plagued by a throbbing head. In truth Hadyn couldn't tell whether it was the hangover or the fight from the night previous that caused this intensity of pain - probably both. She'd somehow managed to drag herself across the city to seek Mistress Sahfri's good counsel. The blacksmith was not particularly skilled when it came to healing (others or herself). In fact, she was quite remedial in anything more than simple dressing and immediate wound care.

Her hand pushed against the door, stepping out of the rain that fell from the heavens. The temperature was quite warm despite the clouds, but Hadyn was in no mood to appreciate it. In fact, she hadn't even changed clothes, her attire bearing some evidence of the brawl. Her expression was grim, hair mostly undone and untamed. Her side pained her severely, encouraging a bent posture, one arm wrapped around the offending side. She hadn't bothered to look but she imagined there was a nasty bruise from the bitch's fist left on her flesh. Her legs burned from being kicked and her lip was cut from falling. There were abrasions on her hand from breaking the mug over the other woman's head and claw marks on her arms.

As far as she was concerned it was a pointless fight. The bitch had everything she got coming to her for inciting the fight. But gods did the aftermath hurt. With a heavy sigh, Hadyn took a long moment to sweep her gaze around the apothecary, annoyed to see no one in attendance. Finding a bare space of wall, the woman leaned heavily against it, closing her eyes until someone addressed her.

[Stormhold Salves] Make it Through the Morning {Leda, Az}

Azcadelia Rosan

Stormhold Salves, never had Azcadelia been here before in her adult life but she remembered it being much the same when she was a teen. The mage had come here to check out the latest poisons that'd be useful in her many exploits and there she stood in an aisle farthest to the left of the store.

Her finger poked and prodded at the labels and her mind was thoroughly intrigued by some of the titles of the strong liquids. "This shop is just an interesting as I remember," she said to herself as she moved, as if floating, through the aisles. The store's atmosphere was dull and there wasn't anything else to do on this cloudy and lightly rainy day but browse a store to refresh one's memory.

Just then, the door to the establishment had opened and closed but the sight of someone hadn't come to Azcadelia. She peeked from behind a shelf and it revealed a woman. A tired and distraught looking woman. The brunette's hair was unkempt and windswept, her posture was that of injury and her hand was raised, grasping, at her side. It was surely a sight contrasting greatly from Azcadelia's rather clean feature.

Azcadelia's fiery red hair was pinned in a small bun atop her head with two strands falling to either side of her cheek. Her light jade eyes peered at the woman while staying in the shadow of the shelves. "She's seen some hell I bet," Azcadelia said, again, to herself before ducking behind another shelf, the furls of her elongated tunic whipping behind her as she slippers hushed her steps.

Azcadelia stood and observed the woman, quiet as to avoid detection. The woman was sight.

[Stormhold Salves] Make it Through the Morning {Leda, Az}

Postby Leda on April 17th, 2013, 11:47 pm

Leda was not sure why, but she had had trouble sleeping over the last week. Not to mention that when she finally fell asleep, she kept having nightmares. Therefore, she had finally made the decision, in spite of all the warnings suggesting it was a bad idea, to buy something that might help her nights more substantive.
It was early morning when she reached the apothecary, deciding not to open her stall at the great bazaar until a little later than usual. Oh well, it would not matter - mornings were always slow anyway, with everyone always rushing off somewhere or too sleepy to consider investing time in something considered frivolous by many.

When she got to the apothecary, it was open, but she saw nobody and attendance and after ringing the bell for a couple of minutes, she gave up and decided to wait for a bit, leaning against one of the walls. She was about to give up hope when a woman walked into the apothecary and leant against the opposite wall, though she did not look to have seen Leda. She was pretty, but looked a little rough, definitely the worse for wear. Leda could only suppose that the woman had had quite an eventful night. There were marks all over her body, probably either the result of a drunken fall or a tavern brawl. Leda observed her a little longer, with a light smile, before bored at the lack of service, she ventured to speak.

"If you are in a rush to get somewhere, I suggest you come back later. I've been waiting for at least fifteen minutes." She smiled good-naturedly, "Are you alright? You look like you have seen better days."

Even her clothes looked like she had had a rough night's sleep in them. Leda could only hope sympathetically that it had been a good night in spite of all.

"I'm Leda by the way." She tucked a dark lock behind her ear and smiled, still leaning against the opposite wall, her arms crossed, which might look to some like a lack of interest but, in her, was almost always a symptom of her tiredness... and less often a result of her being angry or irritable.

At that moment, she felt someone move back behind a shelf near her. Leda saw a flash of red hair and the tail end of a tunic, but didn't think anything of it, besides wondering who else might be in the shop.

Opening her eyes slowly, Hadyn's vision took a tick to focus before she looked at the woman. Clearly she'd completely over looked her, which wasn't a surprise given her condition. On any normal occasion the blacksmith might smile and reply in kind. But this morning she could barely croak out a sigh. Readjusting her arm against her side, the brunette regarded the other woman before attempting a response. Realigning so she could view the woman politely the brunette shifted so part of her back was resting against the wall, her head tilted back to keep herself from toppling forward.

"No rush," she answered in a measured tone. "As y'can see I'm goin' nowhere fast." The blacksmith paused to refocus her gaze on Leda, ignoring the strands of hair that fell into her face. "Hadyn," she replied by way of introduction. "I'd shake yer hand but..."

Hadyn glanced down with a pathetic expression to indicate she was very much unable to extend a hand. It was nice of the lady to inquire. But all the blacksmith wanted was a stiff drought of some exotic tea and Mistress Sahfri to tell her she wasn't going to die. Her focus was narrow this morning, the rest of the shoppe fading away along with its patrons. There could've been thirty customers in the confines but Hadyn could only pay mind to the one in front of her.

Squinting to get a better view, Hadyn decided on an awkward smile to offer Leda for her politeness. She inhaled but it was cut off by a sharp ache to her side. Wincing Hadyn looked away from the woman, clenching her teeth and exhaling slowly.

"Sorry," the blacksmith mumbled under her breath as the pain subsided. "Y'wouldn't know anythin' about healin'?"

Azcadelia Rosan

Azcadelia tiptoed to the edge of a rather old, but solid, wooden shelf and leaned in to listen to the conversation unravelling in front of her. Her ears tuned in to the exchanging of names then a sharp exhale - one of pain or annoyance? It was hard to tell seeing as Azcadelia's vision was blocked by the shelf but then again so were the other women.

She had overlooked the woman that had taken post at the counter minutes before the injured one wobbled in. Glady, that didn't factor into her eavesdropping. In fact this made it easier seeing as there was an actual conversation going on instead of the eerie quiet that had once stained the shelves and aisles. Not much going on now, Azcadelia thought in her head as the injured woman apologized.

Still she refused to give up her position. She shuffled her feet quietly and leaned her back against the shelf to comfort herself. Hoping for the conversation to continue and reveal more about the fight and the healing that the injured woman needed. Was her name Aiden? The other's was Leda for sure but the injured woman is talking rather softly. Speak up, damn you. Another thought ushered its way into Azcadelia's redheaded head. The only question now was what was this 'Aiden' doing that left her so disfigured and hurt?

Leda could see full well that Hadyn was not going anywhere fast and the idea that she might get up and shake her hand seemed optimistic at best. After a smile and a nod of understanding of this evidence.

"You look like you need a warm cup of tea. Or coffee." And bandages and some sort of foul-smelling oil to rub all over the bruises all over her body, and a strong tonic and pills and numerous other things. A good night's sleep too.

Actually, on second thoughts, her state looked rather worrying. Leda knew very little about medicine but Haydn looked dizzy and confused and that might signal a concussion, which could be dangerous. With no medical skill, Leda could not say more and she returned to her observation of the woman. She had lovely hair.

"No. I am afraid not. I have no medical skills. I practise a trade a great deal less noble, though I like it. I am a fortune teller."

Having said this, Leda decided to quickly change the subject. It wasn't that she was ashamed of her art, but she really had no time and was in no mood to receive cynicism - even if the woman looked rather kind. Anyway, though decorum would usually dictate that she not broach what could be a sensitive issue, decorum always came second to her curiosity.

"So, what did you do to end up in that state? Feel free not to answer. I know venting can help some people and infuriate others."

She must have had a fight - and with someone tough. That was the only explanation for it since, after all, it seemed quite a difficult state to get oneself into otherwise.

"Ah well,"
Hadyn conceded as Leda admitted to no skill in healing. Her face registered only mild interest when she gave her profession. Had she not been roiling in pain she might've inquired - fortunate telling wasn't exactly a well understoood or regarded line of work. But all the blacksmith could manage was a weak smile. ""Haps you could tell m'future and confirm that I won't die on this floor 'ere."

Her eyes took in the other woman, trying to discern any identifying features. She was a lovely thing, young and innocent faced. Hadyn couldn't recall seeing her before, which meant she either didn't frequent the Stallion or she was new in the city. Potentially both. After a moment Leda decided to address the Olidosapux in the room. The blacksmith took a chime to consider an answer, her voice throaty as she replied.

"Minor altercation at t'old tavern," she stated with a slight grin. "Got m'self entangled with a particularly cranky bitch o'er at the Stallion. Had t'day knocked out for m'trouble." She offered a small snort at the memory, closing her eyes to keep the room from spinning. "The wench had me by the end. But she's feelin' it somethin' awful today too." Hadyn opened her eyes with a curving smile. Sure, she hadn't won the fight, but it hadn't really been fair. What could a drunk human do against an irate and equally inebriated Kelvic in all her feline glory?

"Fought dirty, t'bitch did,"
the blacksmith added. "I'd would've had her if she hadn't gained fifteen stone in a chime. Damn Kelvics can't be bothered t'fight with any honor."

Azcadelia Rosan

Azcadelia chuckled at the thought of the injured woman fighting a Kelvic and losing by the sounds of it. She had never fought a Kelvic in her life but surely she'd have a better hand it. But then again, she was a reimancy user so the unfair advantages would be fair - in a way. The thought confused Azcadelia as she tried to decode the riddle in her own head - would she win against a Kelvic or not. There was far too many variables to directly come to a conclusion about the fight. If she won the first time the second time around would bring a different set of variables that could lead to her losing. She dismissed the thought and shifted her weight to the other foot and began to read the label of a bottle called 'Pleasant Mornings'.

The bottle promised to cure hangovers after a prolonged and enjoyable night of drinking that would more often than not leave one feeling rather crappy in the morning. The injured woman could no doubt use this to aid in a headache or nausea that accompanied a hangover headache. With her mind made up she side stepped from behind the shelf of potions and revealed herself to the two women. The red strands of her hair jingling in her movements - the bun atop her head staying put. The maiden was dressed in a rather overly impressive robe for the occasion; it was made of a cloth stained sky blue with a darker blue embroidering the edges.

"Good morrow," she stated to the women, walking towards them with bottle raised in hand. "I've been eavesdropping a bit on the conversation and I have to say your tale is quite a tale indeed. Fighting with a Kelvic never goes good, but at least you beat her up as much as she did you. You look as if you have quite the fighting spirit in you," she stopped mid-sentence hoping for the injured woman to clarify her name. This entrance might've not been the best but Azcadelia was an awkward one when it came to revealing her own snooping on another without trying to seem like it was as taboo as it truly was. Hopefully, in her somber state, the woman wouldn't be to offended by it. It was friendly gesture nonetheless but still most people after being beat up and having a hangover aren't too welcoming to friendly gestures after such an awkward introduction.

[Stormhold Salves] Make it Through the Morning {Leda, Az}

Postby Leda on April 27th, 2013, 6:23 am

Leda raised her eyebrows lightly but smiled. She was guessing that Haydn did not know, when she started out, that her opponent was going to turn into an animal... and a rather vicious one by the looks of it. She supposed it might be the sort of situation that anyone might stumble and knew equally well that if it had been she in that position, she would probably come out of it looking even more damaged.

When the woman who's flick of red hair she had seen disappear earlier, appeared again, as if out of nowhere and Leda could not help be but slightly mistrustful, but she shook this off rapidly with a light smile.

"Good morning."

She listened to the clumsy introduction without saying much, or rather observing. It was quite clear to her that the woman had been eavesdropping - especially as Leda thought that she remembered full well the way that she had disappeared, hiding and waiting, as far as she could. On the other hand, what did it matter? Some people enjoyed creeping. It really didn't matter at all, so Leda decided to be friendly. Especially as the woman was relatively well-dressed and that sort of thing tended to warm her to others.

"I go by Leda, and yourself? I don't think you mentioned your name."

Well, she hadn't. Of course, it was not the right moment to do so, but the whole introduction had seemed a little rushed and in a rushed introduction, one usually remembered to include a name.

A vision of azure and ruby bled purposefully into the blacksmith's pathetic vision, her eyes narrowing to better identify the figure. It materialized into an absolutely stunning woman of poise and splendor, floating on quiet feet into their conversation. Her manner was elegant to say the least leaving the brunette feeling significantly banal and homely. The voice issuing forth an explanation was pleasant if not broadcasting a sense of propriety.

For her part Hadyn starred dumbly at the woman in attempt to comprehend her speech. Her mind was blurred by the dual affects of a hangover and pain. The lady had trailed off as if expecting the other women to respond with affirmation. When the blacksmith finally understood the words directed to her she could only draw out an "ehm" before pronouncing her name slowly.

"Hadyn,"
she answered stupidly. Thankfully Leda saved her from further embarrassment by addressing the red haired vision. Shifting her position once more and realigning her arm around her side, the brunette attempted to look a little more dignified in her sorry state. A crooked smile pulled the corner of her lips as she resisted the urge to grab at the bottle presented to her. Whatever it was it looked legitimate. At this point Hadyn was lucky to even be vertical given her predicament.
