An Escape Attempt (Deadfang)

The Twenty Second of Spring, 513 AV
Sure, Lucanius had had some bad ideas in the past. Making an angry mob even angrier was a big one. Following a trading caravan to an unknown location in the jungle was another. But he was pretty sure that this one would take the cake. After sitting around the Spire for over ten days, he decided to try and find his way out of the jungle, hopefully southward. After walking in circles for a couple of hours, he decided that it would be best to head back to the Spires. That plan didn't turn out too well either, and Lucanius couldn't find the entrance to the Spire again. So he had been aimlessly roaming the jungle for a couple of hours too long for his liking.
The worst part of being lost was being alone. While Lucanius wasn't the most sociable person, he still enjoyed being around other people. In this wilderness, it wouldn't take much to convince him the he was the last sentient being left. He was surrounded by the dense jungle, dark and foreboding. Ahead of him, he could see the outline of what looked to be a towering cliff, rising a bit above the tree line. Lucanius decided that he may be able to find the Spire again from atop the cliff, and headed in it's direction.
