Hadyn was in no hurry to reply when the man pulled close to her, his breath warm against her skin. Instead she tossed the barkeep his coins and picked her new glass up. Maduro clinked his against hers issuing a toast to which the woman raised her eyebrows and nodded once. She sipped the drink as he threw it back. When he finished she smiled, holding her whiskey in one hand as she chanced a sideways glance his direction.

"If y'drink as well as you flirt I might have real reason to be impressed," she stated calmly. Another sip. "Though your intentions may be better suited with one o' these fine lasses."

Hadyn indicated with a tilt of her glass toward a buxom blonde downing a drink in a similar fashion as Maduro. The blonde had been staring at the man since Hadyn began speaking to him and was clearly attracted to him. With a knowing grin, the brunette took another swig. She wasn't suffering this stale pit of debauchery just to pick up men. She was here with a purpose and would not be swayed so easily. Indicating to the empty glass, the blacksmith moistened her lips before speaking again.

"Another?" before he could respond she tilted her head, seemingly interested in his response to her next question. "What is it y'do that affords you spare time in a hole such as this, drinkin' your Miza away?"

Yes your right I deserve that, but it's hard to concentrate on drinking when I'm lavished in your attention. Your wit, your intellect your strong personality it's more intoxicating and refreshing then an ale. And I must confess I do enjoy drinking

Yes ple.....

He had been cut off by a more pressing question, what did Maduro do for work. Hadyn was very direct she knew exactly how to steer the conversation.

Right now not much, I left Sunberth sometime ago. Ever since then I've been traveling the world. I'd like to settle into a city a place with values and goals, this is a nice place. Well not this place but I'm sure you get what I'm saying.

So how about you what do you do for work?

She tilted her glass to a buxom blonde that hadnt afforded a passing fancy or even second thought. It was hard to concentrate on anything when she moistened her lips. This woman was definitely worth the effort.

"You're a full time traveler then," the woman leveled her gaze with his, holding the glass loosely between her fingers elbow resting on the rough surface the amber liquid eye level as she leaned against the bar. A single eyebrow rose over an appraising eye as she spoke again. "Sounds lucrative."

Her words dripped with sarcasm but her expression was not one of malice. Turning so she stood with one hip against the bar, her body facing his Hadyn took a measured drink, her eyes watching him over the rim of the glass. She took her time in replying, drawing the glass away and biting her bottom lip slowly before speaking.

"I'm a weaponsmith," she answered at length, her voice quiet and velvety. She tilted her head in the general direction of the shop, a lock of hair falling across her eye. "Hardly glamorous but then, look where I end up."

Hadyn nodded to present company with a smirk, glance flicked away from him. Pulling another sip of whiskey, the brunette surveyed Maduro - assessing him before breathing out a sigh and indicating to his empty glass with an upward tilt of her chin.

"If you want another, it'll have to come from your pocket. I don't make a habit of payin' for more than a drink or two."

Hadyn threw him a wink before finishing off her alcohol. She felt the warmth flood her, indicating she was finally feeling the slow effects of the booze. A heavy drinker by choice it took quite a few to get her to the state of drunkenness. Setting her glass down with a thud, she stared at Maduro.

"Be honest," she began huskily, leaning toward him so she would not have to shout, her expression sultry. "You turn up in the most d'generate place in Syliras yet y'claim to be in search of values an' goals." Another slight upward jerk of her chin in his direction, dark eyes watching him carefully. "What're you really here for?"

What was Maduro to do? Both Auristics and Hypnotism as professions paid top dollar, but how would this woman react to a Mage? A Mage with powers too peer into your soul and hold sway over the mind, discretion in this matter was his single best friend. That little secret was a death knell, he envisioned his confession to her followed by a hardy open palmed slap to the face. The phantom blow pulsed in his mind and he proceeded with the conversation.

You'd be surprised,

He said sarcastically back in a playful manner

You could tell that Maduro was enthused with her charms and sharply pointed directness as his hand dove into his pants pocket so that his fingers jangling out a couple mizas.

If Hadyn tried to sneak a peek the fabric of his pants would reveal his weapon of choice, a two hander. It was snug and comfortable, the monster had not yet attempted to break free. In the art of Seduction sometimes even the clothing you wore was key to a successful venture.

How rude of me, I lost my manners when your warm brown eyes cast gaze upon me.

He waited for the barkeep, and when he got his attention he raised his hand and brought up two fingers. And placed his money on the counter.

Two more whiskeys

The barkeep nodded scowled and scurried off to his business at almost the same time. Professional scowerer he mused wonder what kind of money that would make.

When she revealed that she was a blacksmith Maduro dropped his forehead into a balled hand and tapped it a few times laughing a bit. He got it now the bemused smirk, and how it applied to multiple levels.

Grinning from ear to ear he stated

Thanks for the candle I was starting to get lost in the dark.

His demeanor did not changed as she scrutinized his every move when she wanted an answer as to why he was here. In this gsme every word and mannerism was deliberate its what set him apart, he wasn't stumbling looking for courage to talk to her it flowed naturally from him.

He had something to work with knowing that she was a weapon smith

To be honest it's hard to explain the very worst of Sylria is nothing in comparison to the very best of Sunberth. This place while not home has the trimmings of, wouldn't you not turn to anvil and hammer no matter where you went? Don't you feel most at home with fire and steel? This place is a pit but it's the one spot in this whole city that gives me a level of comfort.

I stumbled upon you, I'm most grateful for that

An eyebrow rose when Maduro countered her comment by assuring her she'd be surprised. She probably would. What did she know of traveling? Besides, he hadn't divulged much of his skills and she had no doubt he was good for more than flirting. She grinned as he returned her statement regarding another drink, canting her head graciously at the compliment. Hadyn rested her chin in one hand, watching him from the corner of her eye as he laughed.

"You're probably right there," she conceded of the topic of Sunberth. As far she'd heard Syliras was child's play compared to the raucous bedlam of the lawless city. She picked her new drink up almost immediately after it was set before her, tilting it ever so slightly in appreciation.

"Comfort? This place" the woman snorted at the thought before taking a drink. Setting the glass down, Hadyn smiled at him. She was warming to him somewhat but she remained guarded, brushing a strand behind her ear. Turning again so her back was against the bar, one arm wrapped around her body, the other bent at the elbow to hold her drink near her neck. Her brown eyes maintained a careful view of the crowd, bowing her head slightly to speak to Maduro.

"Thank you for t'whiskey," she commented earnestly. "I'm glad for t'company and - petch!"

Hadyn swiftly stood up straight, eyes narrowed as the crowd became restless, shouts and yells coming from middle. Placing her drink on the bar, the brunette made her way quickly to epicenter of throng, pushing people aside with barely a word, eyes trained on her destination. A thick shock of red hair was moving against the crowd, folk forming a ring around a turned over table. The mob was yelling, encouraging the altercation with shouts and laughs.

By the time Hadyn made it to the middle, the large blacksmith was already red in the face his fist slamming into the unfortunate nose of the man he was hovering above. The woman immediately lunged forward, grabbing Yorick's shoulders from behind and yanking him forcefully from the other man. He growled and resisted but she jerked him with enough energy to offset his balance, obliging him to step backwards. Releasing him immediately the woman came to face him, her hands on chest to prevent him from attacking the injured fellow again.

"You're done," she stated plainly, a frown etched on her face. Yorick stared at her, blinking dumbly as if the realization was difficult to comprehend. The other fellow was scrambling to his feet behind her, fists raised, nose bleeding, yelling at Hadyn to move. She tossed a glare over her shoulder at the man, extending an arm behind her to keep his distance.

"Shut the petch up," she snarled. "Unless y'want the rest of your face broken."

[Spinning Coin] Pious Need Not Apply {Maduro}

Postby Maduro Salvitary on May 9th, 2013, 9:08 pm

Everything was going perfect, the mood was right and Hadyn was warming up to him and although she was still we'll guarded he was confident he was just a few moments to being able to get himself through her barrier and into his arms.

Of course he should have known better things going right was just a recipe for disaster, and of course it came a precisely the right moment to halt the progression, she had more to say before jumping up.

There was a heated confrontation he didn't need to look, but he kept his wit about him as she jumped up and ran head first into the thick of it.

Maduro snapped his fingers at the barkeep

Ill take a bottle of whiskey and these glasses, hurry please

The barkeep did the scowel shuffle thing he did so well, and while he did this the proper coin plus tip was placed on the counter.

The glasses were snatched with his left index and pointer finger between his thumb, and the bottle of whiskey was firmly held in his right hand.

He nodded to the barkeep with respect slid out of his seat and what could only be described as a floaty waltz to where the ruckus was. There she was Hadyn pulling someone off another person and holding them back. It was that red headed man she commented on earlier.

And then there was the person that had been hit, reeling himself up.

Hadyn through her arm out as the other guy ran full bore at the duo, his fists raised in a drunken tunnel vision induced rage.

Maduros arm popped out from the crowd that circled them to blind side this guy. It was a real dirty trick he'd seen done before. Bottle of whiskey whipped firmly in hand to clonk him full force face first from out of nowhere. It really couldn't be described as a form of combat it was the equivalent to walking up behind someone and kicking them in the family jewels mid conversation. That guy could probably beat him down one end of the bar to the other and not even break a sweat. The only thing Maduro had on his side was playing dirty and being a cheap shot.

He wasn't sure if it would work but if it did man oh man he'd have to pat himself on the back later.

But if it didn't he was ready to come to blows even though it would most likely end unfavorably for him.

Hadyn's attention returned to Yorick, pushing him firmly with her finger tips as he back peddled. His expression shifted from dubiousness to hysterics as a deep rumbling laughter erupted from him, eyes glassy with half-conscious glee. Momentarily transfixed by this change in demeanor the blacksmith turned halfway to see what was so hilarious.

Yorick's opponent lay sprawled on the ground, blood from his cracked nose sprayed across his cheek. Not entirely sure how this event transpired, Hadyn took advantage of it by continuing to push the redhead away. It seemed they had a sympathetic crowd tonight, which would work to their benefit, provided she could get Yorick out before he caused any more damage.

"Haddie," he half warned half croaked, the expression once again melting to concern.

"What now?" she muttered, turning again to see the mates of the downed man come to his defense, moving into the circle and pointing accusatory fingers at the redheaded oaf. One bent down to check on the status of their friend while the other approached the smiths. Hadyn gave Yorick another insistent shove toward the exit before spinning on her heel to address them.

"Gentlemen," she began, voice rising above the din. "Apologies for t'trouble. But this is nothin' to cry over. Best just sleep on it an' wake up with a hangover, eh?"

One of the two men moved toward her, his eyes on Yorick.

"We want no trouble with ye, miss,"
he answered, tossing a hand at the male blacksmith. "But he near beat Damien 'ere to death. Can't let him waltz out of here - "

"He's drunk," Hadyn explained flatly, a frown on her face, her gaze fierce. She didn't have time to check over her shoulder to locate her misguided friend. For all she knew he could be joining Maduro at the bar. Her mind fleeting went to her new companion, wondering where he'd gotten off to but she was snapped back to the present as Damien's friend stepped into her personal space, his breath heavy with booze.

"Look lady, get out of m'way. I don't make a habit of hittin' women."

"How gracious," she deadpanned. "But we're leavin'. Settle it with the Knights if you're so inclined."

[Spinning Coin] Pious Need Not Apply {Maduro}

Postby Maduro Salvitary on May 10th, 2013, 4:46 pm

Maduro didn't want to delve into hypnotism tonight but he seemed he had really no choice in the matter. The crowd seemed sympathetic with Hadyns pleas to get her friend home, that he was drunk and needed to sober up.

While on the other hand his friends felt differently, ever so inclined to repay the red headed man for the damage he had done to Damien.

If there was one thing Maduro knew it was Sunberth, and how the mob did the talking.

They were drunk, buzzed, half aware of there surroundings.

Maduro took a moment to draw into himself.

Magic was a dangerous game of cards, but as he drew from himself rather then focus and carry his whim to a single person he would disperse it like a resonating Djed wave length.

The Djed he drew seemed to pulse pushing outward while invisible to the naked eye you could feel the gentle rolling wave wash over your form in the presence of an Emotional Response it was a feeling of pity on the guy that had a drink to many and lost his senses.

While his friends so inclined to dispatch vigilante justice could brush it off, those around them with no attachment would really feel inclined to help Hadyn and Yorick. Maduro was simply giving that one man fire to burn the forest.

Aye leave the drunk man alone one man
Stated.

It's all it would take, one match

Your going to hit a woman ? Came from the crowd

Look at him he can't even stand up

That guy looks in worse shape then the one on the floor

Maduro had cast his spell and stopped the damage was done this place was just waiting to erupt.

He had been hanging in the side lines and now it was time for him
To step out of the crowd and get to Hadyn and her trouble making friend.

Aye he hit my buddy, so stay out of this less you want to be put down!snarled Damien's friend

The petch you think your talking to?!?! came from an intoxicated patron

The drunk patron stepped out from the crowd and threw a punch at Damien's cocky friend

By now Maduro had made it to Hadyn and Yorick, he raised the whiskey bottle to her to show he had some part in helping her by dealing well cheap shoting Damien.

Things are getting crazy, we need to get out of here

Oh and I snagged a bottle

He had a look that seemed to scream he was so proud of himself.

Aye you look like you got us into a spot of trouble

He smiled at Hadyn, still trying to flirt amidst a catastrophe

Your friend here has a real way with people.

A regular charmer

It was always beneficial to have a crowd like the one they had tonight to help settle problems like this. Though she was thoroughly invested in keeping Yorick out of trouble, she could hear the din behind her clamoring for drunken justice. It suited her well enough as she tried to keep the man's shock of hair in view amidst the chaos. She was immediately distracted as Maduro popped up, booze in hand. It took her a moment's pause to realize it was he who felled Damien. Flashing him an appreciative grin, the woman nodded in agreement, her attention on the dark haired man.

"Yes well," she shouted over the din. "He's as smooth as they come."

Hadyn craned her head around, the telltale sound of heavy boots hitting the worn floor and the authoritative barks of order giving her cause to frown. Pitching forward, she grabbed Maduro's wrist with the intention of dragging him further into the fray.

"Petchin' guard," she muttered to herself, casting a glance over her shoulder at her companion. "That'd be our cue to depart."

Pushing through the array of drunk, sweaty bodies Hadyn latched firmly onto Yorick's collar, pushing him ahead of her. Guiding him around the inebriated, yelling patrons was almost as difficult as keeping him from making an ass of himself. The woman halted suddenly, eyes narrowing as she located two Guards making their way toward the three, still a fair ways off but clearly with the intention of getting their hands on the suspicious trio.

Wheeling to the right, she shoved the redhead forward and pulled him toward her, hoping to suddenly disappear in the horde. He faced her dumbly, a big grin on his completely wasted face. The corner of Hadyn's lip twitched to one side with momentary indecision but she issued a swift apology before delivering a heavy blow to the left side of his face. It wasn't the hardest stroke to befall the man but the look of utter confusion and surprise registered plainly on his face, a cut and bruise forming neatly below his eye.

"That'll do," Hadyn decided, glancing behind her to see if Maduro was instep. Without waiting, the blacksmith threw Yorick's arm over her shoulders, an arm wrapping around his waist. She didn't expect her new companion to assist, but it took her a moment to readjust the redhead's feet beneath him.

"The... petch... Haddie?" the blacksmith groaned, hanging his head and nearly toppling the both of them over.

"Y'didn't have a scratch on you," she yelled in response, steadying him against the pushing bodies. "Practically screamed to be arrested," her breath was nearly gone from her lungs between shouting and holding his torso up as she realigned his heavy arm over her. "Now shut up an' look injured, for Wysar's sake."

[Spinning Coin] Pious Need Not Apply {Maduro}

Postby Maduro Salvitary on May 13th, 2013, 6:14 pm

It was good to see that Hadyn was still in the game as she sent a comeback almost as fast as he had sent it.

She did not have to drag Maduro he would gladly follow, the chaos that brewing and her charms and rugged attitude made him feel like he was home. She had a fine grip, one might say Hadyn had a way of holding a man and keeping him where she wanted him. It was an inside joke but it amused him

Almost ... But not quite

As much as watching her deck the towering red head, yep he'd wanted to do it when he created this mess.

He had nothing to say just a devilish grin, as a black and blue welt formed under his eye.

Sure he could have done it sooner but it gave him a level of satisfaction that was hard to describe in words. That man tower had almost ruined his night, but there was justice sweet sweet justice.

A simple Suggestion the easiest form of hypnotism in Maduros pocket not as difficult as influencing multiple people in one go and not as powerful as a piercing thought. But it wasn't needed the less he used the better off he was.

His suggestion was to the lead knight clanking his way towards them trying to cut through the people, what the thought was went with the knights ethos so while it was weak it was driven by a powerful motivation to keep the peace

We need to stop the fight

The armored warrior pounded on the shoulder on his cohort, and pointed to the direction of Damien's unlucky friend and the severely drunken and pissed patron. The three of them were small fries in comparison to there disruption of the peace thus there direction would change as they pursued the aggressive party. One knight wasn't going to break it up alone, and one knight wasn't going to pursue three people alone so they stayed together and he followed the man in charge.

We got lucky Hadyn, damnnnn you clocked him pretty good his lump has a lump.

We should keep moving we are almost home free, and as much as I like spending time with you I'd much rather do that in the comfort of home rather then in a dungeon cell.

He gave her a smile and raised the bottle of whiskey and his other hand raised the two cups.

Maybe we can finish were we left off?
