16th of Spring, 513AV, Midday

Klaus began with the first circle. He drew it slowly, so as not to make any mistakes, in the middle of his living area. After a brief, yet detailed inspection, Klaus started on the next circle. This one was a tad bit trickier than the first. He started on the wall, drawing up the side. Then he turned carefully around the corner of his front door. He opened the door wide so he could finish drawing on the top of the doorway and around, outside of the apartment.

Klaus was quite aware of the odd looks he was recieving, but he paid no mind. He was doing what he loved, and that was all that mattered. He fished the part of the circle on the outside wall when a Knight aproached him. The man was only slightly taller than himself, but he grabbed him by the collar in a vice that told Klaus this man was far stronger than he looked.

"What are you doing, Wizard!" the Knight bellowed above the hustle and bustle of the city.

"A simple renovation of my home, Ser Knight," he began, "A security measure is all, I swear it." His voice was somewhat shaken, but that was to be expected. Klaus was not a confrontational man by far.

"Explain. Now." The Knights voice was no longer aggressive, so obviously Klaus had said something right. So he continued to explain in boring detail of his intenions. He explained the Animation Circle he was drawing and how it worked. Then he told the Knight that his only objective was to animate the door on his home. To make it so the door would only open for him.

"So you see, Ser Knight. A simple, nonviolent, nondangerous animation of a simple wooden door. Nothin' wrong with that I hope?"

Oleander sat in his apartment, sipping a nice drink of water, enjoying his downtime. Despite being a child, Oleander enjoys the quiet sounds of the passive environment. The sound of the people walking and talking outside, the wind blowing through the window, it all was nice. Oleander gulped down the rest of his water and placed it on the table in front of him, wiping away the droplets that linger on his lips. He was enjoying this moment of peace, when suddenly the voice of a man yelling filled the air. Oleander couldn’t clearly make out what the man was yelling, but one word did make it into Oleander's ears. The word was ‘Wizard’.

A wizard… next door…? I hope that this ‘Wizard’ isn’t one of those pyromaniacs that loves to summon things from another world… Anyways, I best investigate who this person is… maybe I can find some use for them… Oleander walked to his door, opening it slightly to poke is head out to gaze at the room on his right. The apartment door was open with half of a Syliran knight’s body poking out. Oleander listened to their conversation, making mental notes about what they were talking about.

"If it would make you feel any better, I wouldn't mind if you wanted to supervise my actions here." Klaus's words were not mocking or sarcastic. He was sincere. If it would put the Knights at ease watching him Animate a door then he didn't mind it at all.

The night stood back, watching him with a scowl. It took the Knight some time before responding with a wave of his hand, indicating Klaus to proceed. He nodded his thanks to the Knight and went about finishing the circle around the door hinges. After he completed the circle, he examined it thoroughly. Especially around the edges of the doorway and on the outside where people could rub against the chalk, breaking the circle. He looked at the Knight. Perhaps this young man could actually be of some use...

"Excuse me, but would you mind making sure no one touches the chalk on the outside? Any disturbance of the circle during the Animation process could cause it to malfunction and go berserk. And I'm sure you wouldn't want a magical door causing mayhem on your watch?" Klaus smiled inwardly as the the Knights eyes flared open at the thought of such an event. Instantly, he turned to the people around shouting something about standing clear of the door. Of course, the onlookers listened and gave Klaus's room a wide berth.

Satisfied, he continued by drawing a line connected to the circle of chalk. The line stretched out a few feet across the floor where he then drew a quick, second circle around himself. After another brief and thorough inspection of the circle, he sat, legs folded in the middle.

Now, to begin...

Klaus brought his right thumb to his mouth. With a quick, decisive movement, he bit the tip. A small blotch of red began to flow and he twitched in pain. He then held his thumb out, over the chalk surrounding him, allowing the blood to drop onto the chalk.

The moment the blood made contact, a slight glow emanated from the lines both around him and the door, as well as the line connecting the two.

Well, here we go

Oleander listened in on the man and the knight’s conversation. The sound of the people’s conversation made it a little hard for Oleander to understand what they were talking about. Oleander opened his door and took a step out into the streets, locking the door behind him with a key. Oleander wore in ‘casual’ casual clothing. He had a long sleeved grey shirt with the neck hole slightly broad, showing his collar bone and fair skin; along with long grey pants and boots. Oleander's long wavy hair danced slightly as a breeze blow cross the street.

Oleander ventured towards the apartment next to him, blending in with the crowd to make him seem like a generic child. As Oleander got closer to the apartment, he saw knights and a man. The man had black hair and blue eyes, and had a few scars on his arms. Hmm… I wonder where that man got those scars… Oleander continued advancing towards the apartment, under the shroud of strangers passing by. From Oleander's view of the apartment, he saw a door with something drawn around it. The circle around the door was mundane, as if a stranger had drawn it for no apparent reason. However, as Oleander got a closer look that the scene in was commanded to stand clear by a few knight. Tch… Typical knight… Oleander did as the knight asked and stood back a bit. However, Oleander continued poking about the scene. The black hair stranger was standing by the circle after he had completed it. He bit his finger, something that seemed a little odd for Oleander, and looked as if he drew blood. He then dripped the blood on the circle causing it to radiate a magical glow.

Oleander witnessed the event before his very eyes. However, Oleander was more intrigued than bedazzled. This man used his blood to activate this circle he drew… that rules out reimancy… and it wouldn’t be summoning either. If it was the knights would be all over him. Blood… circle… argh… what is that magic called again…? it’s on the tip of my tongue…. “Why can’t I remember…!?” Oleander thought aloud in ancient tongue. Oleander decided he would ask the knight what was going on, it’s not like it was a crime to question a man. Oleander walked up the knight. He then questioned the knight to squeeze out any information he could.

“Ser knight?” Oleander said, trying to get the Knight’s attention.
“Hmm? Yes, lad?” The knight said, turning his body to Oleander.
“What’s going on here? Is this a crime scene?”
“Oh no… A man his is preforming a magic ritual. We’re just here to make sure nothing come bad from it”
“So you’re guarding it?”
“I guess you could say that. We’ve been ordered to keep civilians clear from the area to make sure nothing goes wrong.”
“I see… So what type of magic is this?”
“I believe that this man is an Animator. I think you can piece the magic disciple together.”
“Ah! Okay. Well thanks for your help Ser knight.”
“My pleasure, stay safe lad.”

So this man is an Animator… interesting… Oleander continued circling around the area, trying to get a good view of what is going on. Oleander began to wonder, why was this man animating his door?

For a moment, Klaus stared at the door, thinking. The door was simple. Just a slab of wood, mounted to the frame by two metal hinges. He did modify the door slightly, however. Using four nails, he pined a chunk of leather in a neat square, roughly in the middle of the door on both sides. The leather was pulled taunt, to be used as the doors 'ears' for the finished product.

Klaus gazed slightly past the door, aware of curious onlookers and the intent gaze of the Knights. Well, he thought. If they wanted to see some magic, they've come to the right place."

He folded his hands in his lap and closed his eyes.

Step one. The Soulcore.

With a deep breath, he pictured himself. Clearing everything else from his mind, he focused not only on his physical self, but who he was, at the center of his being. It wasn't difficult. He had done it many times before. He imagined himself, floating in nothingness, like his own personal Void within his mind. And then, he copied himself. Like a mirror in his head, the two copies faced each other. And slowly, he opened his eyes, sending the second copy across the line to the door.

As his eyes opened, he channeled Djed into his pupils, opening his eyes to a new world of color. He watched the doors Aura as it changed. Originally, the Aura was a faint, gray color. Lifeless and boring. But Klaus saw as the the blank grey erupted into a pale purple. Not unlike his own. With a smile, Klaus blinked away the magic.

Step one, complete

OOCSorry that it's so short
Oleander watched the man walk up to his door, inspecting it and examining it. After a while, the man got a square bit of leather, a hammer and a few nail. He then placed the leather on the door and began hammering away. The people turned their heads towards the sound of a hammer hitting a nail into wood. Should he be doing that…? After all… this IS an apartment… maybe he got permission…? Oleander inclined his head in thought and soon after he noticed the man sitting down with his hands folded in his lap.

Okay, since he’s an animator… this step would be… hmm… circle…? Blood…? Ritual…? Ritual… if a person is in a ritual and they’re meditating… they’re focusing on something… this man is an animator so his focus must be on the animated object… in this case the door… so could this man be creating the actual sprit for the door…? Hmm… If only I could get an answer… Oleander couldn’t ask a knight about his question, nor can he ask the man due the knights cutting off the area. Oleander was at a bit of a stub.

OOCNo problem :) And the bit about the door. I was just describing modifications I had made to it earlier. Had I actually walked out of the circle, the magic would have been ruined.

Step two. Directives.

His eyes closed again. A smile still across his face. If there was one thing that gave Klaus pleasure, it was Animating something. Klaus tried to blot out the noise of the city. With the door open, and the attention drawn from the Knights, Klaus found the increase of noise making it very difficult to concentrate. Secretly, however, Klaus liked the attention. Growing up, Klaus was always in the shadow of someone else. But today, he was the lead role. And he liked it.

Ok. Focus now, Klaus. Directive one. Loyalty.

For this, Klause used the same concept as he always has since they moved to Syliras. The concept of the 'Loyalty', at least, the way Klaus thought of it, was personified by the Knights. Klaus remembered, as a child, a Knight guarding a door once. He felt this memory was perfect for what he intended to door to do.

The Knight had been ordered by a senior Knight to make sure no one entered the building. Klaus had no idea why at the time, but the Knight did as he was told. On multiple occasions, people, both civilians and lower ranked Knights came by. All of them wished entrance. But the Knight guard denied them. Klaus saw from his home, the Knight denied them until sunset, when his superior returned to relieve him of duty.

The Knight obeyed the other Knight. You are the Guard, and I am the Superior. Remember that.

After the memory of loyalty was established, Klaus had to set in place a Killphrase. This, Klaus decided, would be a simple word. A word that, of course, based on the first directive, would only work if spoken by Klaus. The word was not in the Common Tongue, but in the Ancient one. The word for death and termination. The word, was...

"Roza" Klaus spoke this word out loud, to transfer the sound of it to the door. That way, the door would only know it by his own voice.

This was the worst part of any Animation for Klaus. Making a way to permanently kill his own creations. Creations Klaus saw as his children. For this reason, Klaus did not smile during this part of the ritual.

Step two...done.
