While Sylira is by far the most civilized region of Mizahar, countless surprises and encounters await the traveler in its rural wilderness. Called the Wildlands, Syliran's wilderness is comprised of gradual rolling hills in the south that become deep wilderness in the north. Ruins abound throughout the wildlands, and only the well-marked roads are safe.

Somewhere deep in the northern woodlands, the air is still with an air of fear. A small hare sits with it's nose high in the air, sniffing it's surroundings after having heard the snapping of branches not far from it's location. The creature's instincts drive it to assume the worst, and the tiny beast is ready to flee for it's hole at the slightest sight or sound of trouble.

Not far to the creature's south, a pair of silvery eyes stalk it's tan and white coat from behind the shadow of a tree. The beast's black fur melding in with the natural shadows of the forest, careful not to alert the prey to it's location. The creature had snapped the branch on purpose, to draw out the hare's curiosity. Now that it was still, and distracted, it was his chance to pounce.

With great speed, the beast charged out from behind the trees. The hare immedieately lept away from the initial charge, and began to dart through the forest back to it's hole. 'What fun is the hunt, without a chase.' the beast thought to himself, and took persuit. Soon the hare was charging between the trees, the large black wolf hot on it's heels. Every few seconds the wolf would nip at it's ankles, but the hare was just out of reach.

When the hare saw it's den not to far away, a sense of security was given. This caused the creature to slow down slightly, and gave the wolf it's moment to strike. With a hard leap, the wolf pounced upon the hare, pinning it to the ground. Loud yelps and squaks were heard from the creature, before the wolf's mighty jaws clamped around it's neck. With a mighty 'snap', the squeaks and cries were silenced. Replaced now with sounds of snapping bones and savage feasting. The wolf had go it's meal.
