[[Apologies for the wait!]]

"I am not quick to anger as I am quick to defend. And what do creatures who swallow in the dark know of the Knights and Squires that protect and help to continue to build on this city that you currently reside in without threats? However, if you wish to insult us, dream of fantasies that are unreal and to be a hypocrite, I would be more than happy to escort and see you out of here! Fancy that? Quit being a petching leech of our services and simply get out! Simple as that!"

Giving the ridiculous man the cold shoulder, Septimus looked at the young boy before her. Despite this other man with the rats, Septimus had not failed to let her guard down. This boy was still highly suspicious and she sure wasn't letting him go without a thorough inspection of sorts.

"Sure thing. Come on and we might can grab a bite to eat. I'm sure your parents wouldn't mind, right?"

She took a few steps forward and away from the mad man, beckoning the young boy to come. If he hesitated, that would be another red flag. Afterall, too many red flags would not be good. She would try and continue to talk to him and get him to speak. She would try and find a crack in his words then use that crack against him. Much like a horse testing a new human. One slip up and Septimus would know it was all a facade.

But to what extent will he go to to hide whatever it is? Surely if it wasn't something terrible he was hiding, it wouldn't take too much to get him to crack? How much pressure she was willing to apply depended on how much willpower she had to dedicate herself to the Knights. In this case, she would have no problem seeking him out once more if need be.

Looking for the underworld

The Prince of Rats

Ninus looked at the knight. Oh of course she would love to remove him. "I never wanted nor asked for your services. It was the fear of the blade that bade me run into the arms of your...charity." he said coldly. "Without threat, without crime, without the homeless. But without these mirrors of human nature who indeed are we? Bodies without a name stacked up in the pit the knights call a prison." He looked at the boy, who seemed content to go with the knight. "Go, child. Go and be prodded, investigated, interrogated. She will worm into your skull and fasten herself upon your mind with her claws. The knights know best how to do this to a man, to loosen his tongue with blade and hook and needle."

Ninus shook his head. The boy would learn soon enough that the knights in the city weren't as good and honorable. No, gods with blind power who had hunted him like hounds until he had taken an apartment in the city. Ninus was more comfortable in the alleyways of Syliras, but it seemed the knights wanted those homes left for the rats. Ninus rubbed his hand across Cricet's cheek. They needed something to drink. Perhaps he would trail this boy until he learned more, and get something to slake his thirst besides.

'O knight, sweet and tender knight, did you hear? She wants to grab a bite to eat... Her intentions, do you know them? Kindness or curiosity... I'm not sure; she seems nice, but then again... how cuddly wolves can seem!' Inayl doubted; he wasnt sure on which motives the woman had acted, but he knew very well that he could not refuse her offer. Even the man, who continued had continued his bombardement of shrewd remarks, had prodded Inayl to accept her invitation.

'I don't think they will mind, miss. Thank you, I'm really hungry...' he quickly stepped towards the woman, but stopped halfway, to turn his head towards the man, away from the woman: 'Bye... sir, uhm ... have a nice day...' His voice had sounded uncertain, not sure whether to bid the man farewell, but his face had been very clear: with his head turned away from the woman, he had slowly winked, and quickly smiled towards the man.

He rejoined the woman smilingly and held out his hand, waiting for her to accept it, and lead them on their way, wondering where this mysterious woman would take him, and what she would attempt once they had arrived.

'Can you see him, my knight? Did he understand? Let him wonder, let him think. I'm sure we'll meet again. To talk and plan and help, o knight, this couldn't have gone better: to find the king of slums so easily!' He'd follow the woman for now, and tell her everything he'd want her to know. Besides, if she got nosy, he'd find a way to escape her grasp... with or without his morphing skills.

OOC INFOSeptimus, feel free to lead my PC to a bar, stall or whatever you had in mind; he'll (silently ) follow you, for a bite and a talk ;) Though I cannot guarantee he won't try and run away, once he sees an opportunity!

"Good and if not, I'm sure they'll understand." Septimus didn't trust this young boy one bit and certainly not the mental brute behind them. She didn't let the young boy have any clue of it, however. The more the boy underestimated her, the better.

Septimus had no idea where he would take him to eat. Probably a tavern close by. Maybe the Rearing Stallion. She supposed that would be the best choice. They had food and that was all she was looking for as of right now.

Septimus beckoned him, being sure to keep a sharp eye on him without making it noticeable. She still managed to keep her warm and friendly smile on her face while continuing to be assertive.

"So have you always lived in Syliras?" What better way to try and start a conversation all the while gathering information. She needed to go on lunch break anyways. Grab something to eat in the process.

They turned down a common street. Septimus didn't know precisely where it was at. Just the relative location.
