[Syliras] Stepping into the Light (Aryia & OPEN)

510AV, 1st day of summer

Kamryn looked up at the sky, not a cloud in sight. The temperature was rising as she stood there looking at the sky. She took out her waterskin and took a drink, the water soothing her sore throat. She wiped her mouth with the back of her sleeve that she was determined to still be wearing. She pulled the fabric a little, it was tight and sticking to her. She preferred being in her wolf form but it was different here, a city with expectations.

Kamryn put her waterskin back into her pack and continued walking forwards. Her eyes searched the shops as she walked by, searching for some place with weapons. She needed a bow, not that she was incapable of hunting as a wolf. It seemed an easier way to hunt when she didn't want to be all bloody or didn't want to have to hide her equipment for certain reasons.

She was also looking at the people as she walked by them, seeing what race they were and admiring the many things they wore. Kamryn hoped none of the people would be able to pick her out as a Kelvic, she was trying to act human. She wanted to get a bow, then she wouldn't care what they thought. The only way they would be able to tell her apart would be her eyes but they were hidden by the cloak's hood that covered most of her face.

Stepping into the Light (Aryia & OPEN)

Postby Aryia on July 10th, 2010, 9:36 pm

Aryia stretched and yawned, putting all her weight onto her two front paws as she stuck her back out into the air and yawned. She blinked her eyes a few times as they adjusted to the light, and stepped out into the sun.

Her eyes lidded slightly as the warmth hit her back and a low purr emitted from her throat. She trotted along the busy street, looking around at the different people busying around shops and talking to friends. She brushed up against a hodded figure and suddenly drew back, eyes narrowed in a glare at the stranger. A kelvic. They felt like a dog, or a wolf. She couldn't tell.

She turned on her heels and walked off ahead of the stranger, her tail flicking up in the air. She held her head high in an arrogant sort of way, deciding to find something to eat.

[Syliras] Stepping into the Light (Aryia & OPEN)

Postby Kamryn on July 10th, 2010, 10:14 pm

Kamryn looked down as a cat brushed up against her legs. When their eyes met she knew it knew which could only mean one thing, it too was a Kelvic. Kamryn panicked as it started to walk away but quickly regained herself. Alright, she thought. No big deal. She considered following it but decided that was a bad idea.

She started looking around again for a shop, there had to be one here somewhere. Her eyes darted around to where people walked, none exciting a shop with what she was looking for. She absentmindedly started walking down the street, her eyes stuck on the different signs. She hadn't realized she was going in the same direction as the cat had gone.

Kamryn caught sight of a food store and this made her curious as of to if she should go in. She was hungry and it would be nice to escape the heat. She opened her pack and checked but she had food and it was unnecessary to buy some. She decided to go in anyway, just to look around and a piece of shade would be a nice relief from the heat that was constantly on her back. She started walking towards the store and even before she got there the shade from the building caused instant relief.

She stopped to think for a moment and realized that she best not go in there, it was enough to stop here. Sitting down in the shade with her back to the wall she brought out some raw meat, for human food was not as good. She started eating it while trying to be civil but really she just wanted to tear into it.

Her eyes lifted up from her food and she found herself thinking about the things she needed to accomplish here. She would need a bedroll, a blanket, and a bow at the least. A few other things might help too but those were her basics.

[Syliras] Stepping into the Light (Aryia & OPEN)

Postby Aryia on July 11th, 2010, 10:04 am

Aryia manuvered herself to the back of the shop so that she could change. It was difficult to buy - or steal - food from a store as a cat. The people of the city might notice a black cat dragging a fish or a piece of meat down the street.

She strode into the entrance, her shoulders set back and her back straight. She had a very arrogant air about her pressence, which was clear in the way she looked down upon the people around her, although no one seemed to notice. They were all to busy with themselves.

She picked up a few tins of sardines and slipped one into the pocket, and procceded to pay for the other two. She wasn't going to steal more than she could get away with, and getting caught wasn't her to-do list.

[Syliras] Stepping into the Light (Aryia & OPEN)

Kamryn watched the people as they walked by and studied each one. She only caught sight of them for a few heartbeats before their bodies mingled with the others and she lost sight. A lot of people come into the shop, it was quite busy considering it's size. It was the eighteen year old girl who caught her attention though. She had black hair, the same as that cat. She had Blue eyes, the same as that cat.

Kamryn stood up and slipped the rest of her unfinished food into her pack. She quickly slid into the shop and started looking for where the girl had gone. Kamryn glanced around and spotted her over by the sardines. Kamryn smiled to herself, of course she was over there. She was a Kelvic.

Kamryn watched her for a moment and saw her pick up three tins of sardines but when she advanced to pay for them she only had two tins. Kamryn's brow wrinkled in confusion as she looked over at the girl. She wasnt stealing... was she?

The man at the counter called out, "Can i help you?" Kamryn looked over and saw him staring at her, obviously more concerned if she would steal than the other Kelvic. She knew she looked more suspicious, she had her cloak hood on and the shadows were covering her face. Kamryn slipped the hood over her head and let it fall down as it bunched together neatly on her shoulders and fell smoothly halfway down her back. She put on her fake smile and said politely, "I was wondering how much for smoked fish?" Kamryn thought that was a good question, she looked like a traveler and they ate smoked stuff. She knew even before she'd asked the question that she wouldn't buy any. Smoked fish was revolting, human food general didn't appeal to her.

The man thought for a minute and responded, "Seven Gold Mizas a pound." Kamryn smiled back even though he wasn't. He looked suspicious, a larger man and she was afraid he would be able to attack if he wanted to. "I still have some food from earlier so I'm alright, i was just going to get it if it was on sale." The man did a half laugh half grunt of disapproval. "I don't know who you think we are but if you want deals go somewhere else."

Kamryn nodded and quickly rushed out the door after a quick thank you. She sighed a heavy sigh of relief. Next time she'd just wait outside. She stood at the door and waited for the Kelvic to come out, it was much smarter. When she was in the shop she had lost track of where she had gone, too concerned in the man who was running the place. She hadn't noticed if anyone had been in there but she knew the Kelvic still was. She wouldn't have missed her sneaking out.

[Syliras] Stepping into the Light (Aryia & OPEN)

Postby Aryia on July 12th, 2010, 1:00 pm

Aryia's eyes glinted in slight amusement, her face remaining impassive as she paid for her goods. It was interesting as to how judemental the human race were. They preyed on the suspicious looking, not realising that there is more to a person than just their looks. Aryia knew this all too well. Their ignorance was somewhat entertaining to the raven-haired girl.

"That will be 5 gold mizas, please." Aryia fished the money out the pocket in her trousers, handing the gold coins over to the clerk. She didn't even bother to say thank you as she picked up the bag and turned on her heels, walking out the store and into the warm sunlight.

[Syliras] Stepping into the Light (Aryia & OPEN)

Postby Tressa on July 13th, 2010, 12:31 pm

Tressa hadn't been paying attention to the girl that had payed before her, she was only worried about devouring the crudely wrapped piece of venison as she handed the man 7 gold mizas. Hunting was so much cheaper, but game around the front gates was scarce to say the least and she wasn't up for traveling. The shop keep eyed her as she payed and returned his gaze boldly. He thinks I'm below him, they are all the same. She thought turning quickly and exiting the shop. Her hands made quick work of the paper wrapping on the meat and blood ran from the edges of the package. "Oh" It came as a gasp, the surprise in her voice fading quickly as she nearly walked into another person standing outside the shop. Stopping short of the collision she frowned. This place is so crowded, appologize or keep walking? Appologize, after all you're the one not paying attention. "Sorry about that" She grinned, it wasn't like her to apologize. Obviously the mannerisms of humanity were wearing off on her. The blood from her package had begun to run down her hand and she licked it from her fingers quickly.
