Family to Call My Own

50th of Spring, 503AV

'I need to leave a place for others to place their letters...'. This thought, one that normally people don't think about, was a major problem for one Shiyami Toten. He was heading back to the hill that over watched Syliras, when he spotted a group of bandits waiting there. Judging from the tent, the dying embers of a fire, and the remains of an animal of some kind, he assumed they have been waiting for quite some time. Placing his box down in front of him, he looked at each bandit it the face, and made a mental profile of each one. A tall muscular guy, a short boy that seemed to be a skeleton with bones, the average looking one, and one missing an arm. "How may I help you?", Shiyami asked, with a smile that a host would wear while greeting guests. The most average looking bandit was the one to speak. "We were told the Ake Aug was around here. Take us to him.", with the most bossiest tone ever. They followed a rumour about someone who is just in the stories of drunk men?, Shiyami questioned in his mind. Instead, they immediately got a reply from Shiyami saying, "I deny.", abeit his tone changed from the one a host would have, to one that a pampered child would use. The leader-at least Shiyami assumes the one that spoke first was the leader-'s comrades spoke up. "Ya messing wit da wrong men, boy!", the muscular one threateningly said, while cracking his knuckles. "I'll take your stuff!", was the pitiful words of the skinny one, with his fingers waving. The one armed banditWhoops, unintentional reference to Las Vegas (or any casinos) here. The one armed bandit, for those off you unfamiliar with the term, is what many call those slot machines with the single levers at the side. Just letting you all know XD just rolled his shoulder, before pulling out a dagger, and threatened, "I will perch you up!", and finally the leaders added, "Who do you think your speaking too?!", in a very angry tone. All Shiyami did, was to sigh audibly to these threats. "Treat others, as you want to be treated yourself...", he quietly whispered, before directing his next line at the bandits. Realizing that these bandits don't understand that he is a ghost, and that they think he is a weak boy, he decided to taunt them first. "Oh, I'm going to get stabbed! Oh the horror, be still, my racing heart!", Shiyami spoke dramatically, before laughing. His expression suddenly hardening, he spoke. "Oi. Muscle-head. Runt. Lever-boy. Two-faced. You all petched in the head or sumthin'?", was his response, this time his words were slurred, as one would most commonly hear in the slums. "Perhaps you don't know, so let me say this slowly, so your petching pebble sized morass of yours that you call a brain can understand. I. Am. A. Ghost. What the petch do you think you can do? Punch me? Stab me? Save the the trouble of pitying you poor petchers.", he insulted, with the most annoyed expression on his face.

The bandits were not pleased, to say the least. Angry, but seeing no other option, the leader then asked in annoyance,"If you are a ghost, then you should know where the Ake Aug is, as we were told he is a ghost as well." Shiyami then opened his left eye, gave the most chilling smile, and leaned in to whisper in the mans ears. "I am the Ake Aug.", in a voice that one would associate with death. The leader, now officially terrified, hid behind his comrades, before telling them what he just heard. Now, with the bandits cowering in fear, Shiyami laughed, before speaking again. "Now, for I feel the desire to kill, where are these guards that you speak off. If that was nothing but tales woven from a blind's eyes, then you will be replacing the guards that never existed.", Shiyami's tone changing to one that a noble would use. Fearfully, the bandits told him the story, and the plans for the job. Took longer then one would expected to just speak a simple kill job, but perhaps the way the bandits' teeth clattered mid-chatter slowed the words down, though that could've been Shiyami's mind making up reasons for the unknown.

After several bells, Shiyami and the bandits were in position. The plan was simple. Target a caravan, kill the guards, raid the cargo, then leave. The civilians were to be left alone. That was something Shiyami added to seal the deal with the bandits. After waiting a short while, they saw their target. A caravan, carrying mostly people, defended by only two guards. 'Projectile. Target: Head A. Acquire weapon from Guard A. Attack Guard B. Same tactic as previous. Profit.', Shiyami thought, while in combat perspective. He was, for the lack of articulate words, 'getting fire up'. He immediately acted upon his plan. He shoved the scythe, aimed at the nearest guard, before taking off after the spinning blades of death. The scythe didn't hit the guard's head, but the legs instead, immobilizing him. Flying by the first guard, withdrawing out the dagger from the downed man's sheath along the way, he swung it at the second guard's neck, easily slicing into the jugular. Spinning back around, Shiyami slowed his pace, knowing that one guard was dying from blood loss, while the other would be dead anyways if left alone. Turning to face the first guard, Shiyami gave that chilling smile, crouched down, and sliced the guards neck. His job was technically done, but he stayed their to watch the bandits raid the caravan. A family consisting of a mother, father, and daughter was kicked out of the carriage.

However, as the bandits raided the cargo, Shiyami witnessed something that normally doesn't happen. Normally, the civilians are terrified, and run for their lives. It seemed anger and bravery was in bulk within the father, as he attacked the bandits. One unarmed man against four men armed with knives. 'Stupid. Brave, but stupid.', was what Shiyami thought of it. What happened next, will cause the end of his carrier as one who carries out larcenic murders. Oh, and the end of his employers as well. The bandits, tired of being pushed around, broke the father's legs, before killing the mother and daughter right in front of the poor man. Seeing this seen, Shiyami snapped. Pulling his scythe out of the ground, he proceeded to murder the bandits in the most inhumane ways possible. Blood painted the road that day, with pieces of the bandits body littered everywhere around Shiyami. Calming down, he looked at the father with pity, who was crying as he watched the body of his family lay their. Strolling slowly to the man, Shiyami quietly asked,"What do you wish to do now?", in an apologetic voice. The man, while crying, his answer was given with a shaky but determined voice. "Even if I continue to live, I will be unable to live happily, and unable to work. Let me move on. Please." Shiyami, nodded once, raised his scythe above the mans neck. He whispered one line, just one, "See you on the other side...", very quietly, before letting the blade drop. The man died with a smile one his face, believing himself to meet once again with his family.

As Shiyami was about to walk away, he felt a tug on his arm. This carnage created, was littered by every living person in this area. There shouldn't be anything moving except for the carrion eaters. so what could be tugging him? Turning around, Shiyami's eyes widened. It was a little girl, about five inches shorter then him. Her appearances matched the one that the human daughter had. "What's your name?", he asked, to which the girl shook her head. "Age?". Ten fingers were shown. "Birthday?". Again, her head shook left to right. "Birthplace?". Yet again, she didn't know. "Parents?" This time, the girl dropped her gaze, before shrugging her shoulders. 'She can't remember her name, birthdate, hometown, or parents?', Shiyami thought incredulously. When he started walking again, the girl followed him, without protest. Looking down at the girl again, she was now holding his arm, and seemingly won't let go. Sighing, he asked,"Do you want me to take care off you?", with a gentle voice. The girl immediately nodded, and hugged his arm harder. Laughing, Shiyami then pondered over her unknown facts. The current day was the 50th of Spring,  year of 503AV. Syliras was off to the far distance, but was still the closest town. Making his decisions, he faced the girl, before speaking again. "I'll name you Kimi. Your born on the 50th of Spring, 493AV. And you were born in Syliras. Is that alright?" he asked, to which the girl, now named Kimi, nodded, before giving a happy smile.

Together, they walked-er, floated-down the road, away from the mess that created this bond between two ghosts. There may be more that could happen, but this is the end of the prologue. What more could await Shiyami? Ah, but that, my friends, is another story, for another time.

Side NoteYeah...so I had to add that last paragraph for the fun of it. Usually when I make a story, the forth wall is broken at the very end, in a way to hopefully intrigue the audience for the next chapter, during my days writing fanfictions. Decided to try it here at Mizahar, so...ehehe...yeah...

Notes :
Mr. Shiyami, I found this thread a rather difficult read. As such I could not effectively grant you what could have potentially been a much larger amount of experience points. I highly advise that in the future you flesh out the concepts you are wishing to explore so that myself and the rest of the moderation staff can more adequately serve you as a player in giving you your just rewards.

Furthermore, in the future do not interject narrative text as if speaking from an observer's standpoint outside the third-person narrative of your prose. It conflicts with the flow of the thread and generally speaking is not appropriate for Mizahar threads altogether.

If you have questions, feel free to PM myself or another ST at your earliest convenience.
