This lazy agricultural settlement rests on the swampy shores of the Middle Suvan at the delta of The Kenash River. The River's slow moving bayou waters have bred a different sort of people - rugged, cultured, and somewhat violent. Sprawling plantations of tobacco and cotton grow on the outskirts of the swamp in the rich Cyphrus soils, while the city itself curls around the bayou and spawns decadence and sins of all sorts. Life is slower in Kenash, but the lack of pace is made up for in the excesses of food and flesh in a city where drinking, debauchery, gambling, slavery, and overbearing plantation families dominate the landscape.

Image Located in a corner of Dry Island Plaza sits the unassuming music shop, Rhaus' Harp. Specializing in sales of musical instruments and assorted accessories, this small storefront is framed by flowering, hanging vines and intricately patterned rock gardens. To soften the look, a glance around showcases some of the more hardy potted plants - most native to the area and unremarkable in their own right. The nondescript plantings also serve to hide small groupings of bells strategically placed so that the wind will tease a light tinkling tune meant to entice passersby to stop and enter the shop to inspect the wares.

Opening the door elicits yet another small peal of bells, both welcoming visitors and making it impossible for the shopkeep to be taken unawares. A quick glance around reveals meticulously clean-swept wooden floors, tidy shelves and a modest sized corner hearth, accompanied by two cozy and inviting chairs. The decor is simple, and mostly for sale; instruments that can be hung are displayed that way. Often, a particularly lovely piece will be set upon the hearth mantle; interaction is encouraged, and visitors are welcome to try their hand at whatever is on display.

ImageThe wall opposite the hearth is lined with shelving; a few short steps across the room finds the visitor within arms' reach of nearly any musical item he or she could desire. From simple children's instruments such as clappers and rattles to more costly lutes and banjos, all are neatly lined up awaiting an interested hand. Should one wish it, cases for every instrument may also be purchased at the shop; for the most part those are stored in the back room, being both large and rather difficult to artfully display.

Those wishing to purchase any of the services offered need simply to speak with Opal Draer, proprietor. For additional fees, personalization can be added to nearly everything for sale in Rhaus' Harp - instruments and cases alike. Painting or carving are options; popular choices include monograms and/or house crest symbols. Other designs are available, including the customer's own design, provided a suitable representation is available for reference. Additionally, those wishing to better their musicianship might also purchase copies of popular or original tunes, though this is by far the least-requested service on offer.
