A Carefree Night [Open]

Whatever time of day, or night, it seemed Wind Reach never slept; at least not all of it at once. There was never a time in his memory of when the mountain had been quiet, for if it was something would have been wrong. Granted most of the activity happened during daylight hours but there was always a handful of bustling deks, or devoted crafters that found sleep hampered their efforts. Luckily all of the care he needed to give to the birds he tended was all done before mid day meal, and a small check up afterward. Even though that’s what was needed there were days Beau didn’t want to leave there company and it had been one of those days.

He’d flopped and turned in his bed for at least two hours. There was no sign of sleep finding him any time soon, plus his snoring roommate was starting to get on his nerves. With nothing to do, and little patience remaining, Beau pulled on his more worn pair of bryda and slipped out of the room. It was a short walk to the nearest intersection of hallways, where he stopped to try and make up his mind on what to do. There was a good chance he could have found his mother at Inclement Weather, or a friendly face down in the baths; the Dreaming Lady wasn’t even out of the picture. As he thought about his options his eyes strayed to an open window that held part of the night sky in its frame. He wanted to be outside, more than anything else right at that moment. It was such an impulsive drive that he didn’t even think about what he was going to do once he got outside, or what time it was.

He adored his home but there were also times when he suddenly couldn’t stand to be indoors any longer. The winding halls in the mountain were expediently navigated which hastily gave way to an open, and inviting, clear night. His eyes scanned the sky, briefly imagining what it would be like in the empty black air of night. Upon lowering his gaze however yielded another inky blackness, only this was the reflection of the sky on the surface of the Twin Lakes. A very familiar impish glint sparked in his eyes. A swim was just what he needed to ease the thoughts away, securing the promise of a few bells rest later. Beau soon found himself staring at his reflection in the glassy smooth surface of Shivias, curiously studying how much he’d changed since he’d last been in the exact same situation.

Beau wasn’t one for reminiscing, though, and rid himself of his night attire; setting them on a stone where they wouldn’t be easily misplaced. His stark form wasn’t visible for long because he took a childish amount of joy in jumping into the lake; disrupting the calm water with resounding splashes and spraying droplets of sparkling water. “Oh,” he gasped as he broke the surface of the water, “This is exactly what I needed.”

A Carefree Night [Open]

Postby Brunhild Alalia Ambros on August 17th, 2010, 11:15 am

"Honestly, you and your insomnia..." Axel taunted playfully. The Wind Eagle flapped her iridescent indigo wings as she spoke to her bonded human through telepathic messages. "What?" Brunhild giggled, shaking her head vigorously. Her crimson-red curls twirled around her in a playful motion. "I just can't sleep tonight," she hummed solemnly, eyes looking into the waters of the Twin Lakes. "It's such a nice night, anyway... But you're going to need more rest," Axel exclaimed, walking ahead of the Inarta. The Wind Eagle then rested upon the banks and began searching for fish or things to snack on.

Brunhild continued to walk along the side of the lake, only half of her mind was registering her footsteps, while the other flew up into the night sky in deep thought. Her hood was down, and her pure white Katinu was undone, billowing behind her as she strode slow steps. She stumbled a couple of times from the large rocks that were in her way, but stopped dead at the sight of a rather large one that had clothes lined above it. Furrowing her brows, she turned to her Wind Eagle a few meters away. "Hey Axel--" she cut herself off at the sight of a male Inarta, bathing in the waters of the lake, clad in nothing whatsoever. "I-I... uh... u-uhm.." Brunhild blushed violently, frozen in her tracks. She then spun around and covered her eyes with both of here hands. "M-my apologies!" she stuttered wildly, shaking with fear and panic.
