As I approached the great golden gates of Syliras, the butterflies in my stomach started to swarm. I had never been this far from home before, and it was really getting to me. The heat, the awkward glances from my now carried heavy fur coat that I had shed when the region had significantly warmed up, and the fatigue that coated every cell in my body. My dress was sweat-covered and tattered and muddied at the bottom from my great trek. I had not slept for days in order to not loose any time, but I must explain.
The reason why I am so far from my family and my people would be because I have been banished. Why was I banished you wonder? Well, all you'll get to know is that it's not an important story. The important thing currently is that I am here in Syliras safely. I am extremely lucky not to have been attacked by anything on my journey to the capital. The risks were huge, but I needed to leave my home as instantly as the banishment was known.
The bright summer sun beat down on me as I passed through the gates with little resistance. I must look too weak to do much damage. As I passed through the main avenue, I was immediately filled with relief and fear. I was here in this grand city that I had only heard of in my papa's stories, and yet, what was I supposed to do? There was no purpose for me here. I could not take care of my brothers and sisters, I could not start dinner with the help of the summer light...
This uselessness overcame all else as I collapsed in the main square next to the center fountain, dropping my load next to my distressed body.
