Hey there, hunters! Since the Fall Hunt's begun, Shahar is looking for like-minded Drykas to join him on an expedition. The team will be targeting a herd of bison and will attempt to kill as many as they can reasonably carry back to Endrykas. This will naturally draw predators and scavengers, so if you just can't live without a dangerous beastie in your hunting haul then there will be ample opportunity for that as well.
With that said, I would prefer to keep things simple because we are are entering the last month of fall. There will be three "main" threads for the event as a whole, though if you want to organize additional threads with specific PCs you are more than welcome to do so. The themes for the threads will be as follows:
A meet and greet thread. 43rd. This will take place on the team's first night together, after everyone has arrived and set up camp. Mostly a social thread to establish to group dynamic. Dinner will be provided, though the rest of the thread it up to you. If two players get into a deep conversation or wander to a different part of camp and want to splinter off into their own thread, that it perfectly fine. It's probably be best if we keep this around three pages or less.
The hunt thread. 45th. The main event. This will begin with the team leaving the camp and approaching the herd. The general goal is to start a stampede, during which horseback hunters will take down the animals on the outskirts of the herd, where there is the least danger.
Defend the camp thread. 46th. Drawn by the scent of blood, scavengers begin stalking the outskirts of the camp, looking for a piece of the haul. The group must defend their kills. What exactly e will be fighting has yet to be determined, so we could be facing coyotes, night lions, a bear or even a glassbeak if we're feeling risky or have enough people.
Also, since There will probably be four or more people participating in each thread I will also be implementing a time limit. We will be sticking to rounds of turns in order of who posted their first post before and after whom. That means that once someone posts, we'll know who's turn it it to post next. If it is your turn and you do not post in three days, your turn will be skipped so we can keep the thread moving. You will keep your place, however, so when your turn comes up next you can jump back in.
As you can see, there will be plenty of opportunities for character and skill development, even if you aren't a hunter. We'll need horses to move the carcasses back to Endrykas, as well as people willing/able to tent to those horses, to set up camp, to help gather food and share watch shifts after dark. There is something for everyone!
