Run… every instinct she had was screaming at her to run pick up her skirts and pump her legs until she couldn’t move anymore. It took all her willpower to slowly sway to her feet. Reaching down she grabbed the skirts of her dress and looked back at the faceless nuit.

He was the thing that plagued her dreams and sometimes her waking reality, one day she would need to conquer this fear until that day she was going to run away in screaming fear.

Which was what she planned on doing, turning so her back was the monster prayed that she would not sink and be trapped under the water unable to breathe or swim to the surface. Without another thought Assilsa began to run, as she first started her feet just splashed through the water without any effect until, as the water began to get deeper Assilsa stayed at the same fight. In her dream she had created an invisible layer for her to walk on. Looking back at the fish woman Assilsa beckoned her to follow after all Assilsa knew these tunnels better then anyone

Night of the Living Nuit

Phyolea followed the woman closely. Her webbed feet allowed her to run through the water with relative ease. Still, the water provided more and more friction as the waters got higher and higher. The smell still lingered. Phyolea dared not look back. What did the creature want? Was it trying to... eat them? She shuddered at the thought. Surely the creature knew she was nothing like the fish that the land dwellers tended to eat? Actually, did it know anything? Phyolea still wasn't convinced it was even alive.

Phyolea wanted desperately to ask the woman what was chasing them, but words still failed her. The fear had never left her. The fear fueled her motivation to run. So she poured all her energy in running as quickly as possible, slowing only to match the pace of the woman. She wished the waters were deeper so she could hide. Nonetheless she understood the woman's gesture and followed onward.

Slashing through the cold sludgy water Assilsa could feel the fear pumping itself through her body forcing her to keep running even though she was getting tired and her limbs ached.

A crunching caused her to stop; turning slowly Assilsa saw the faceless monster slowly begin to swing at the coral. Small shards began to chip away and fall from the master piece.

How can he do that? How? He always found ways though the traps she built over the years, he would always make his way towards her. Assilsa was forever going to be plagued by this faceless demon she was never going to be free.

Assilsa bared her teeth and hissed, eyes gleaming with as much determination as possible. She needed to fight of this fear once and for all. If she was Assilsa might finally have a good nights sleep.

Night of the Living Nuit

Phyolea could do nothing but look on as the thing chipped away at her defense. She looked down at the waters. There was nothing she could think to use. She looked around at the stone walls. They seemed rough, yet wet and slick. There was nothing of use there. There weren't even any torches that could be lit. She looked further up the path. She couldn't see that far. It was too dark.

Then the woman hissed at the creature with a gleam of determination in her eye. Oh dear mighty Laviku... was she really going to fight? Really?! That thing looked like it wanted to devour them both. "No! We must escape!" Phyolea whispered halfheartedly. She wanted to run, but to where? It seemed hopeless. Still she couldn't bring herself to leave this poor woman. Trembling with all her might, she took a crouching stance and prepared to create more barriers to slow it down.

run? yes, every part of her yelled that exact word at her. Dont stay and die, run run as fast as you can.

"But if we run he will plague your dreams as well, if we destory him we are both free...."

Assilsa didnt want to add that last part, i hope, didnt seem very supportive and confident and Assilsa knew that without her surpior sight the fish woman would have no chance of esacping the darkness of the caves.
her claws caught the gleam of light that seemed to follow the faceless nuit whereever he went. Taking a deep breath Assilsa took a small steo forward and bared her fangs hissing loudly, she had to win this. for years this creature had plague her with crippling fear, Assilsa could not live with this any longer. She need to make a stand forself if she was ever to dream peacefully.

Phyolea didn't want to let that thing break through the barrier. She sank into the water and swam back to the makeshift coral wall. She needed to be near it in order to reinforce it. Her body moved quickly through the water and she stopped behind the remaining safe area behind the wall.

She used her coral manipulation to make the coral grow and repair itself. She knew this would be a temporary solution, especially since this type of coral was not meant to be used in this manner. Sooner or later she would run out of energy. Then what? Would she swim away? Phyolea thought of the woman in red. "RUN!" she called. She dared not raise her voice any more than that.

The silly fish went closer, Assilsa had never been as close to the horror since she had started seeing him in her dreams. A small whipper escaped her lips as she saw him destroy even more coral. They were doomed, simply doomed, Assilsa was certain they were both going to die.

“not without you”

Her eyes slowly shut without her consent and she fell to the ground with a crunch. She had fallen to the ground with a crunch even though she was falling in water instead of hard surface. A flash of her red skirts and the growl of the nuit where the only reason Assilsa though that her fish friend would notice.

Night of the Living Nuit

The creature seemed to be much faster than it appeared. Actually, Phyolea did not recall seeing the creature up close. What WAS it? She knew it made slow movements before, but she could not get the wall to continue growing rapidly enough to do any good. It would not be able to keep it out. Phyolea trembled as she tried to think of what to do next. Nothing came to mind but terror.

Phyolea decided to swim back to the woman as quickly as she swam to the barrier. However, before she even got close the woman collapsed. Phyolea's fear caused her to stop moving for a moment. Was something coming from the other end of the tunnel? What happened?! Phyolea began to panic, which propelled her forward. She swam with frenzy to check on the woman. Phyolea's body managed to move. She needs air, her mind managed to choke out. Phyolea cradled the woman's head so that it was elevated above water. She did not know how to tell if the woman ingested too much water... land dwellers were strange that way.

With the woman unconscious, Phyolea felt alone. With some unknown creature. It had nearly broken through the wall. Phyolea shivered, but not from cold. She was lost. I don't want to die. I don't want to die. Phyolea's mouth froze into a plea. She cared not whether it was Laviku, Kihala, or even Dira herself who answered the silent plea. She knew it was only a matter of time before she would return to the cycle. No matter what she willed, her life would cease.
