Oh? Clothes? Kouri moved the figurative strings in Anna's astral to command her body to a stop, Anna's eyes moving to look at her discarded clothes. She was confused for a tick on why Anna would want her clothes because she didn't feel chilled at all. The ghost girl couldn't feel the host's bodily sensations during possession so she would have no idea if Anna felt discomfort, pain, or cold. This fact had its own benefits and drawbacks. In an emergency situation where Anna was incapacitated, Kouri could take over the sorceress' body and retreat from whatever dangers they faced, as she couldn't feel pain, the ghost could push Anna's body beyond its limits. However, if she was not careful, Kouri could accidentally break the woman's body and inflicted severe injury, or worse, death.

Ah, you're right! I can't feel what your body is feeling, Madame Annana. Anna's body sheepishly giggled much like Kouri as the ghost girl moved Anna's right hand to rub the back of her head. Alright then! She had to fix this immediately, unlike her, Anna could catch a cold, she was not a Vantha and Kouri was sure she didn't have their resistance to low temperatures. Anna's body walked to her clothes and picked them up, then she started to wear them. Uh... uhm... Kouri fumbled with it similar to a child being taught how to wear her clothes for the first time. She struggled with it and after about five chimes, finally succeeded... somewhat. Anna's clothes were haphazardly put on, it wouldn't fall off her body, but they didn't look 'right'. Eh... good enough!

The sorceress continued her tale about the God named 'Rhysol'. It was a fascinating tale, on he helped Anna go through with her life. Kouri assumed Anna had murdered her friend in revenge because Velia betrayed her. It was a grizzly act, but the ghost girl could understand how angry Anna must have been at the moment. This Velia didn't deserve to live, she was a liar and betrayer, and these kind of people were among the worst, they were almost as low as slavers and tyrants. I understand... Kouri very much understood what it felt like to be deceived, she had wrongly put her trust on Cyrus and the Syliran Knights. All of them were nothing but liars who put on a civilized face, trotting on a false sense of honor.

Kouri moved Anna's head to look at the ground, her right hand clutched near her chest. This Rissole... As she mentally said that, Anna could feel the image of a rissole flashing in their minds. The ghost girl still couldn't separate them. He's a good God, he helped you, right? I agree with him, you were betrayed, I'll be angry too! Kouri then moved Anna to sit on the ground, making a doodle using her right index finger. You think he will like me? Ehehe~ Thank you~ To think a God as benevolent as Rhysol favored her, the God who valued freedom and strength, opposing the tyrannical rule of those Knights. The little girl was overjoyed.

Of course, Rhysol had many enemies, there were many evils in the world and these evils would try to destroy anyone who walked in the path of good. Kouri mentally nodded at Anna, a determined smile on the sorceress' face. No! I never heard of him before! I'm glad you tell me now, so I know who are the evil ones! I'm a good girl, I will make him happy! Ehehe~ Maybe those liars make good chopping meat for my chakrams, don't you think? Her tone became sinister at the last part, she wouldn't feel bad about killing people who didn't deserve their lives.

Okay! Anna's body suddenly stood up, reflecting Kouri's excitement to the prospect of learning Glyphing. "W-woah..." She almost fell down, but managed to balance herself by swinging both of her hands. Kouri glanced back to look at her daggers, she couldn't extend her tendrils while inside Anna's body and the ghost wasn't sure Anna could carry all sixteen of them, she also ran the risk of cutting the woman's skin with those sharp steel. Eh... no one's going to steal them. She felt bad for leaving her precious daggers, but it wasn't like there were thieves or monsters who were interested in those blades. She could always return to them later. Lead me there, Madame Annana! With a giggle, the puppeteer began moving her flesh vehicle to the Citadel.

OOCI think you can play Kouri moving your body as Anna direct the ghost to the Common Labs

Kouri's instability was both a blessing and a curse for Anna, on the one hand it made her much easier to manipulate but on the other it also meant she wasn't the only one who could mold her so. Her lies and words had the girl now, but one never knew when Kouri could switch around or decide that Anna perhaps was better dead or as a subordinate. It was a delicate balancing act, to know when to dominate, sway, and lead, and when to give the child space. She was confident that for now she had Kouri under her sway, but just in case it might be best to up her training in regards to the Void. It would be a pity to do such a thing to Kouri... but if it came to that then Anna wanted to be prepared with something the child had no plans for.

For now she was grateful just to be fully clothed, the job was shoddy, but considering where she was living she doubted the Undead would care overmuch. For now they needed to get back to the Citadel, luckily the journey wouldn't be overly long nor difficult. At least so long as they had no unpleasant company along the way.

Very well Kouri, start walking left. You'll see a patch of trees after walking a little ways. Head towards that.

As they travelled Anna observed that the child's control over her body itself was impressive from what it had been the first time. Her mannerisms gave away that she was certainly not Anna, who was normally rather confident and collected in her strides and appearances. Unless she was having one of her... episodes in which case it usually jumped between hostile challenge and manic euphoria. As it was she was just pleased that Kouri wasn't tripping over her legs.

The odd cries of various creatures were the only things that disrupted their journey, distant for the moment but Anna preferred not to take her chances in this state. Of course she was but a mere observer here, she watched as a denizen inside her own body as Kouri did as she pleased. Someone else might have found it horrifying to be reduced to a puppet, whose strings were made to dance at the whim of a rather playfully sadistic child. Anna had faced far worse in her days on Sahova, this was simply just another day.

Right, so from here head through the trees. Once we are through we should come to the path that leads up to the Citadel. Head through the Vestibule and towards the Gug Adjak. Anna would instruct once they arrived near the forested area, flashing Kouri a picture of the aged structure of the Gug Adjak.

As they walked Anna decided it best to give Kouri a bit of a crash course of what exactly they were going to be doing, as well as what Glyphs were in a practical sense. She'd be getting a bit more magical education that what she'd probably gotten to the point. Anna would make a worthy apprentice out of her yet.

Now my eager young student, I'm certain you remember the Glyphs on my body yes? Well we are going to try something a little different for you, something you'll be using from now on any time you utilize Reimancy from my body. Its called a Focus Glyph. Anna stated, flashing Kouri an image of a highly stylized inverted triangle.

A Focus is a Glyph which possesses the primary function of channeling or storing magic. Something you need to keep in mind is that my Glyphs are my own style, each wizard has a different style. What I want you to think is an image that you feel natural about drawing. Keep it in your mind. Anna said.

Once they came to the Citadel and headed to the Gug Adjak Anna would simply mentally urge her to go towards a nearby empty workbench. Once they were seated Anna was ready to properly direct Kouri to begin. The Sorceress sent the ghostly child the image of an inkwell and brush, and then of her hand.

Once you have your image in mind then draw it on the palm of my left hand, take your time. The first Glyph is always the most difficult. Once you are done I'll tell you what to do next. Anna instructed.

"Okay!" The ghost girl followed Anna's instructions to the best of her abilities, moving the sorcerer's feet through the tainted ground of the Prairie. Although her possession power had significantly improved since their last encounter, Kouri was far from being the perfect puppeteer, she still stumbled and did unnecessary movements, her sense of gravity still lost within her ghostly mind. Despite this, at least she would no longer get easily kicked, especially with a willing host and a spiritist to boot. "Eh... uhm, tell me if you are tired okay, Madame Annana?" As the possessor, she couldn't feel the strain of muscles and may accidentally break Anna's body, like a child toying with a delicate object. Since this particular 'object' was classified as a living human being, Kouri didn't want to risk it.

As expected of Sahovan hospitality, no one batted an eye after Anna entered the citadel. These walking corpses wouldn't be surprised even if a tentacled squid monster spawned right in front of their eyes, let alone an adult female human with shoddy garments who acted like a little girl. Kouri paid them no mind, they were not interesting, they were blank slates like the corpses they are, except for a save few such as Amaryllis. A flash of confusion projected itself to Anna's mind when the sorceress spoke of the strange location. Eh... Gu... gugu-what? The language was so foreign to the girl, she couldn't help but stammer. After a chime of futilely spelling its horrendous tongue-twister name, the child decided to simplify it. Gugu it is then! The Gug's image, she seldom travelled that far into the citadel before as Kouri usually hung out near the Courtyard or Quarters. The last time she went there was to visit Vick, she hadn't seen the master wizard since. She could only wonder on where Vick went, probably hunkering down in his lab on some experiment.

Of course! Teach me all about it! She was eager to learn this 'Glyphing', how hard could it be? It was just drawing some circles and pretty patterns on one's body, if that was what Glyphing is all about, she would have a great time indeed. Furthermore, it could help Kouri to use Anna's magic and this indirectly meant strengthening her ability at possession. She would do all in her power to learn this 'Focus' Glyph, boredom shall not be her enemy. That's a pretty triangle, I can do it! It's easy, right? In her child-like mind, she saw the world magic as the most simplest magic of all. I see! So everyone has their own style, ehehe~ I can draw a pretty triangle! By now, she could understand what Anna meant by 'storing' magic, it was like a box with magical stuffs stored inside it.

As they entered the Gug Adjak, Kouri stopped for a moment or two to admire the beautiful ancient architecture before shaking her head, she had no time to waste, her possession might end sooner than later. WIth a giggle, the ghost girl commanded Anna's body to the nearest workbench. "Uhm..." Kouri flexed Anna's fingers in nervousness before reaching out to procure a brush. "I just need to dra-" *Clack* The brush fell from her clumsy fingers due to her inability in properly performing detailed movements. "Shit." She muttered a curse in Vani, a trait uncommon for the well-mannered girl. This could be seen as the first manifestation of Anna's curse whether the sorceress noticed it or not. Kouri focused her mind then picked up the brush with her right hand, trembling like a diseased old person. She slowly dipped the brush into the inkwell, her brows furrowing. This is hard...

The ghost girl then clumsily put the brush's ink-coated tip to Anna's left palm. Ugh... Realization came to her, if only she was still healthy and breathing, drawing a simple triangle would be a walk in the park, but using another's hand was a different matter entirely. The Vantha ghost found herself screwing up with every movement she made. In only a matter of ticks, Kouri had managed to draw an assortment of random messy lines on Anna's left palm. Aaagh! Petc-! She almost cursed, but managed to stop herself mainly due to the severity of that particular curse. I... uhm... s-sorry. Clearly, Anna would not be pleased with a student who only knew how to complain, Kouri knew that well from how her mother would punish her should she slack off. Though rather far-fetched, Anna was the closest person she could think as a mother in this undead island. Kriemhild was far too obedient to be a mother.

Kouri growled and dipped Anna's left hand on a nearby water-filled bucket, the black ink dissipating into the water. It was then she felt a presence behind her, the ghost girl turned Anna's body to see the particular stoic face of her maid, Kriemhild. The Nuit's baggy green eyes stared at the sorceress, not realizing it was her mistress inside the tall woman's body. "Eh? Kriem?" Kouri tilted Anna's head in curiosity, she didn't expect to see her maid here. "What are you doing here?"

Kriem's eyes widened slightly for barely half a tick before returning to their usual half-closed position, this woman's mannerism and speech reminded the Nuit of her mistress and apparently, she knew her name as well. "Mistress? Is that you?"

"Ehehe, yep!" Kouri smiled while giggling, so even the stoic maid could still be surprised, even if it was very brief. She's Kriemhild, Madame Annana! Don't worry, she's with me! She needed to make sure Anna didn't saw Kriem as a threat, like her little sister, Kriem was not suited for combat and could do little to defend herself in a fight. "I'm rather busy now, so can you wait there?" The maid just nodded and didn't ask further questions, it was her Mistress' business and she had no right to question Kouri's actions unless she asked for the maid's advice. Kouri then turned back and wiped Anna's left hand on a napkin and tried again. This time, she went a lot slower and carefully made the first line stroke. It took her about fifteen ticks just to draw a simple line, but she didn't lose heart, the prospect of Madame Anna being disappointed urged her to keep going. After about a two chimes, a crude ink-drawn triangle was visible on Anna's left palm. Phew, okay! I did it... somewhat. Now, what should I do next, Madane Annana?

[The Prairie] Of Blades And Magic (Annalisa)

Anna felt Kouri's awkward handling of her body and mentally cringed, more than a little embarrassed by this whole situation. She imagined herself as a fragile doll in Kouri's hands, really it was an accurate if slightly disturbing line of thought. If the child were not carefully Anna could end up with broken bones, like a child twisting a toy's arm off. A slight thrill of fear ran through her mind as she remembered nearly coming to blows against the child that fateful night in the caverns, it was followed by a flare of indignation towards Kouri. She thought herself the one in control of this relationship no doubt, but soon Anna would show her what happened to children that misbehaved.

A tiny part of her mind cried out against that line of thought, Kouri was still just a girl after all. She rationalized it by thinking that the child was immortal for all intents and purposes, any future punishment Anna could dole out was hardly going to be lasting. It would simply need to show that there were two sides Kouri could deal with, the kind and softly spoken side or the wrathful and merciless side. Rather like how a parent could punish or coddle.

Her mind satisfied for the moment Anna turned her attention to staring out her own eyes as Kouri worked. Like every part of her body the Sorceress had zero control of them at the moment, Kouri was the one who moved the grey orbs. How very helpless she felt, reduced to a voice inside the child's mind that could be ignored rather easily. Idly she wondered if that would start to affect her eventually, if Annalisa Marin would start to become more Fubuki Kouri and the reverse also occurring. Was that even possibly? That the individuals simply bleed away and simply become one entity? That was a truly frightening thought, though Anna had to wonder how powerful a creature like that could be.

Kouri's scribbling was basic and flawed in so many ways, enough so that it was rather painful to observe. Yet watch she did, as it wasn't like she could simply close her eyes and not watch. Really she didn't have a choice in this matter, she had to watch. In many ways a person might consider this rather like a personal torment, to Anna it was a very common occurrence really. Possession and the ways of Spiritism were become much more common to her mind.

Kouri turned suddenly and Anna found herself a little disoriented by the action, like an insect being rattled in a jar. She focused her attention on this Nuit, her first response immediately was suspicion. Kouri assured her that this Nuit was her companion, though Anna thought her tone approached that of a slave more than any thing else. The Sorceress would have narrowed her eyes at that though if she could, now more than a little more wary of Kouri.

How long until the child decided Anna was weak enough to prey upon and push around? How long would it be before she wanted Anna to start calling her 'mistress' and wait upon her whims as a personal plaything? How long until she actually really did become nothing more than a tiny voice in the back of the girl's mind, screaming and crying futilely for freedom? How long until Kouri started thinking of her as a slave rather than someone to admire? It was the danger of dealing with a ghost as powerful as Kouri, especially one so childish.

Not to worry Kouri, she's welcome so long as you say she is. Anna projected carefully.

Now that the child had finished a basic Glyph it was time that Anna started on the next phase of the instruction. The tall sorceress remembered that Kouri had used the wind element last with her, so perhaps bit of a lesson on better res control was in order? Specifically on how res could phase change when necessary. It could tie in nicely with this lesson.

Right. You remember when you last drew res from my body? Well you are going to do it again, only this time I want you to focus on pushing it out as a liquid from the Glyph on my hand. The Focus should make the process much smoother. Once you have it drawn, move the res upwards from your- my hand and wait for my instructions. The Sorceress instructed, settling back to see Kouri work.

Anna liked Kriem, of course she would, quiet and stoic she was, Kriem was a good girl. The Nuit was very obedient and quiet, but could provide advices should asked because of the years she spent both as a human and as an undead. She could be brutally honest though, but that was a good thing, Kouri needed someone to provide logical advices, not intimidated by her power or making fabricated lies just to please her. The sorceress' apparent acceptance of Kriem's presence was replied by a mental giggle from the Vantha ghost. I'm sure you'll like her! She's quiet, but she looks cute, right? Ehehe~ She's smart too!

Back to the business at hand, Anna's brows furrowed as her possessor instructed the next step. It involved reimancy and this time, she must exhume Anna's res in the form of liquid. You can do that? I thought... In her mind, res could only be produced as gas, Cyrus and Azcadelia both used res to produce their blast of fire and wind. The ghost girl didn't know how, Anna's right hand scratched the back of her head, signalling Kouri's confusion. Okay uhm... I'll try. Toying with magic was dangerous, especially since this wasn't her body to begin with. Kouri clenched and unclenched Anna's left hand as she looked at the glyphs, her mind remembering the lessons Anna taught her during their first encounter.

Alright... concentrate, feel the Djed... Kouri was thinking to herself, but Anna could hear her thoughts since they were currently one. The ghost girl felt her figurative strings on the sorceress' djed began to move, awkwardly pulling at her djed, the djed of a living being. A ghost's djed was considered dead djed and unable to be used for magic, but this didn't mean they couldn't manipulate others. A sigh escaped from Anna's lips as Kouri closed her eyes and let the djed flow. At first, the res that spawned from Anna's left palm was in the form of gas... Kouri realized this and gritted Anna's teeth. She tried again, pulling at Anna's djed with her soulmist, forcing the sorceress' body to expel small pieces of her soul. The result was mostly the same, puffs of res-air accidentally produced.

Aaagh! Come on! She was getting frustrated and almost forgot to restrain herself, she wanted to try again and again with brute force until she succeeded, but that... would kill Anna. That's not a bad thing, right? I mean... she can be my friend forev-... She suddenly stopped her sinister thoughts, realizing that they would spill to her host. By Morwen, she hoped Anna didn't hear that, in panic, the Vantha ghost sought to salvage the situation. Uh... n-nothing! I'm just wondering how to exactly do this! It was a very poor lie, but what else she could say?

Kouri went silent and just focused on her work, she deliberately ignored her spill and concentrated again, this time making the image of all things liquid in her mind. Rivers, ponds, lakes, and seas, she visualized how ices would thaw then turning into water. With these images, the ghost girl projected it into her pull on Anna's djed. Res flowed out again and this time... it was in the form of liquid! She succeeded, not fully realizing that Anna's drawn glyph helped her in the process. Next, she simply willed the res to move upwards, an easier process compared to forming res. Alright, w-what should I do n-next? The ghost girl stuttered. If she still had a heart, it would be beating fast, like a girl who just found out doing something very naughty.

Anna felt as Kouri pulled at the strings of her Djed, moving it awkwardly and with little skill across her body to her hand, resisting the urge to send irritated thoughts to the girl. She hated how very wasteful the child was with her vital energy, this essence of her soul and the identity of Annalisa Marin. She was only a child though, not only that she was an unfamiliar hand at reimancy, so some slip ups were to be expected as she attempted to improve her abilities. Still, it was highly irritating.

Kouri started getting frustrated as she started drawing clouds of gaseous res from the tall woman, Anna could hear her annoyance and she shared it. However, just as Anna was about to project some advice regarding patience the girl thought something that made the sorceress’ blood run ice cold. It didn’t take a genius to complete the line of thought Kouri had just constructed, though Anna still felt a little bit of shock go through her mind. So… this was all a game on Kouri’s part as well, of course that was to be expected. Even in manipulation, when she opened up to some degree it came around to show her that she couldn’t ever, EVER, place her trust in anyone.

Waves of disgust followed the girl’s attempts to cover up her misstep, Anna choosing to maintain a chilling silence towards Kouri. She had been right to keep herself separated emotionally from the child, of course she had been. It still hurt to some degree that the girl harbored thoughts of her demise though perhaps Anna deserved it to some degree. She was a wretch after all, one that let life entrusted to her slip away due to inadequacy. One who had felt the pain of being unmade. Part of her wanted to simply order the girl from her body this instant, any degree of fondness for Kouri evaporating easily as her walls rose.

However, the Sorceress restrained herself, instead keeping the urge beaten down and telling herself to pretend that she hadn’t heard the words. Kouri would pay dearly for this, Anna would see to that. She would pay for this and for threatening her life in the Caverns, the Sorceress would not be satisfied until the girl was on her knees begging for forgiveness. Her punishment would be severe indeed if Anna had any say in the matter, powerful ghost or not she was hardly invincible. She’d beat her lesson of pain and regret into the ethereal waif until obedience was the only thing that dared cross the girl’s mind. She had seen kindness, soon she would see wrath.

These dark plans of vengeance aside Anna refocused her attention on the task at hand, noting that Kouri had finally managed to draw liquid res. She struggled to keep the rage from her thoughts, the anger she wanted to hiss and scream at the girl for this affront. Not once had she mistreated the girl, she had lied to and manipulated her but she had also offered to stay behind in the Caverns when the Voices had attempted to overtake her. Anna now saw that those things had been right, the girl deserved to be burned up until nothing remained.

She did keep to her silence for a chime or two though after the girl asked what to do next, the tall woman wanting the girl to stew and worry over her words. Anna was onto her now; she was not going to misstep again when dealing with the ghost. She probably deserved it for lying to her and manipulating her, but Anna still felt hurt deep within her heart. The Sorceress had gained a measure of respect for the girl; apparently the same could not be said for Kouri towards her. No, Anna was just another toy, a plaything for Kouri to amuse herself over and kill when she grew bored to join her in her sad, lonely, and pitiful ethereal existence. Petching ghosts. Well, if Anna couldn’t manipulate her into becoming hers, she’d force the girl into the role.

When Anna finally did respond the tone of her thoughts were neutral, careful and guarded to some degree as though unsure of what the meaning or Kouri’s words were. Perhaps the ghost had misspoke? Perhaps Anna simply didn’t want to know the depths of depravity Kouri possessed? No, Anna was playing the part of ignorance.

I can see that Kouri. Now, I want you to focus on transforming the liquid to a gas. Once you do you can then transmute it to the air element to wrap this session up. Anna projected to her.

Yes, she wanted the girl out of her body as quickly as possible now as she only realized how very weak and helpless she was in this state. A whim from the child could have her neck snapped, so very easily could she be undone. She needed to plot her moves very carefully from here on out.

Like a child who inherently knew when she had angered her parents, Kouri took Anna's strange silence as a sign something was definitely wrong. Of course, her mind immediately assumed Anna was angered about her poor choice of words, the ghost girl made a mental gulp as she waited for a reply, the atmosphere quickly chancing into awkward silence. Anna never ignored her like this, nor expressing any kind of silent contempt. She could feel malice oozing, enveloping Anna's soul. A frightful whimper echoed in the sorceress' mind, courtesy of the scared little girl being caught in an act.

She didn't want any hostility from Anna, especially after all she had done for her, acting as a surrogate mother, guiding her to a new path under a new God. Kouri wanted to smack herself for being so foolish, her little slip-up had dire costs, her whole relationship with Anna was in jeopardy. That one sentence ran the risk of destroying everything, her presence in Sahova, Wanda, Amaryills, Celeste, Kriem, and even Rena, all would fall apart if Anna turned from ally to enemy. The realization hit like a charging dire polar bear, causing Kouri's mind to pause in disbelief. She crumbled it all and now, she would pay. A small fragile light of hope shone itself though as Anna finally answered the girl's question. Her voice sounded calm and neutral, not that of anger or disappointment. Kouri deluded herself, thinking that Anna must have understood her, surely the sorceress thought of her ominous wish as some kind of bad joke.

O... okay... She kept her answer brief as Kouri focused her trembling strings to will Anna's res, the slimy liquid reacting to the puppeteer as it slowly evaporated. The process became sloppy and ragged due to lack of concentration on Kouri's part, how could she? She just dodged a souldart... or so she thought. Nevertheless, it was clear Anna wanted the possessor to leave her body and frankly, Kouri didn't want to stay any longer. With determination fuelled by fear and anxiety, the ghost girl finally turned the slimy liquid into gas, then she recalled the reimancy lessons taught to her. A nervous mind-pull here, a pull there, and the gaseous res-gas slowly turned to true air, a weak silent breeze as if the wind itself shied away from Anna's tranquil fury.

T-t-that's it, then? I did it, right? Okay! I... I'll be going now! Kouri's stuttered voice became quieter and softer with each word, she abruptly ended the possession and literally jumped out from Anna's back. Now, a quivering girl was standing behind Anna, nervously fidgeting with the hem of her dress. It didn't last long for she quickly turned away and disappeared, her small form reappearing in front of her Nuit maid in an instant later. "...Let's go..." The Mistress ordered simply, materializing herself as her weightless body was bridal-carried by Kriemhild. The stoic maid simply nodded and walked away, but... her dead green eyes gave an emotionless glance at the tall sorceress, barely a tick before turning away.

OOCAlright! I think this should be my last post for the thread, Anna. :)

Will be anticipating to our next one!

Comments :
First of all I am very sorry for the wait on this one. I've got no excuse. Secondly, this was a pretty powerful thread in terms of the changing dynamic of your two character's relationship. An interesting read and more than a little creepy at times and creepy is exactly what we aim for here in Sahova. Also, congratulations on making Master Glyphing, Anna!

I have awarded your grade to the best of my ability. Of course I'm not infallible so if you have any comments or queries about your grade feel free to PM me.
