The air around Aurorah's face grew heavy as the first of the fat droplets landed on her sleek, black fur. She flattened her ears in annoyance and swished her tail. It was just another hunt interrupted by the unpredictable weather. Her stomach grumbled in protest and even she had to admit that if she did not eat soon, her condition would deteriorate. She had to either find her own food, or venture into some city. She hoped it would not come down to the latter, as the daunting prospect of holding back the animal frightened her.
Ignoring her stomach, Aurorah stalked angrily through the trees, towards the clearing where she had left her clothes and belongings in. As she changed into human form, donning her damp clothes, she gathered her weapons from where they lay hidden under the musty dirt. Then curling up along the trunk of a rather large tree, Aurora watched as the tiny jewels of rain slowly made their way to her, scraping past the bark of the huge fern.
As she sat miserable and cold, Aurorah watched the flickering flame she had built before her hunt diminish in ebony, cold embers.
