Gilgahaar
Nickname: Gil
Age: 44
DoB: 75th of Spring, 469AV
PoB: Mura
Residence: Riverfall
Occupation:
Associations: Cerulean
Personality:
With a will stronger than Isurian steel, the dark twin has nearly eradicated all traces of his lighter half, leading to his being barked as Cerulean. Though he is considered the "dark" twin, he is neither evil nor particularly dangerous to the common bistandar. The main "Dark" aspect about the dark twin is his lack of a concious. He enjoys causing pain to those he believes desirve it, which due to a seemingly broken moral compass could mean anyone. He even enjoys his own physical pain.
Though he is subject to the whims of emotions, Gil often wears the mask of indifference to strangers until they take the first measures to crack open his preverbial shell. Once opened, he is very passionate, to the point one might very well mistake him for a light soul; however, he responds harshly to betrayal, often by inflicting pain and drawing blood for penance. Due to the aforementioned lack of moral standards, the definition of betrayal is subject to change.
There are moments though, when the light twin peaks through chinks in the seemingly impervious willpower. And it is not pretty; being subjected to the pain the dark soul enjoys so much coupled with the heart wrenching regret, grief and hatred of himself, the light soul often attempts to end the life of himself and the dark twin permanently. The light side has already learned he cannot beat the dark soul's will to dominate, making those rare moments when that control is weakened to try and end all the suffering he causes and receives.
Gilgahar likes a surprising amount of numerous things for a dark soul. Of course he enjoys his training in various forms of combat, as well as his trade skill of Weaponsmithing. He has a deep passion for charcoal art and heartfelt music. He finds the Ganba particularly pleasing and a good way to vent high emotions.
On the other hand, he dislikes just as much. His first annoyance is bright colors, which in Riverfall is one bad peeve to have. Often, he avoids looking at anyone wearing overly colorful clothing, especially if in pastel shades. He despises the sounds others make when eating and those who see fit to judge him unjustly.
Appearance:
Gil has a half-and-half appearance about him. His entire left side of his body has been tattooed of white design. This stems from the original Cerulean tattoo that dominated half of his face, head and neck. With half of his head shaved, the other half holds long and lush white hair which he often ties into three braids or bundles into a simple tail. For the most part his right side is generally unmarred, though around his ear his skin still shows remnants of the burn. His left brow and ear lobe each possess three piercings while his left nostril and nipple possess one each, all silver.
History:
He was born in the land of his mother; the Konti Isle. He remembers wonderful images all blurred by time and perception. Gil felt cheated at how they left when he appeared - he had done nothing wrong, just simply taught a boy his age not to lie by punching him in the mouth... repeatedly.
During the boat ride to Riverfall, the light twin blamed his darker half. As a result, he tried to make him go away, despite his father's warning. After nearly suppressing the dark twin entirely, it retaliated in full force. By the time they reached Riverfall, Gilgahaar was under the darker brother's control for most of the time.
Over the years, he only solidified his power over the body, further pushing back the weaker, lighter twin soul into the recesses of existence. The things Gilgahaar did under the dark soul's control slowly drove the suppressed lighter soul mad. Mad with pain, mad with grief and regret and sorrow and a burning hate for himself...
He had almost concealed the truth entirely as his will grew stronger. His lighter side had not shown itself in so very long... until the Djed Storm. Even though he was safely inside, when they began to retake their city after the disaster, remnant djed, stress from the event, or both, triggered a sudden change of dominance, leaving the dark side ill while the light side finally managed to break through.
Within moments he was restrained; the light twin's first and only action was the attempt on his own life. He claimed the pain was too great, both self inflicted and inflicted upon others. This outburst is what marked Gilgahar as a Cerulean. For that, the dark twin hated his lighter half. Gil had been lucky; he had almost married. Almost.
With the new status he was forbidden to marry. In shock and anger, his fiancee returned to Mura, and his life in general became an emotional wreck. This left a chink in his impervious armor, one that when hit would allow his suicidal lighter half the opportunity to dominate for only a few moments.

Gilgahaar's Lakan is a strange thing, being it doubles back on itself so that the blade's base and it's tip are on opposite sides of the hand. The single edged weapon can be used for piercing or slashing as any dagger can, as well as to magnify a punch. The sharp curve of the blade possesses jagged teeth, though not sharp as a serrated blade, that is meant to catch or tear whatever comes into contact with the teeth.
