Lab 30 Research of Malediction and Voiding

The laboratory afforded to Frankie Lee Tieh for the study of Malediction and Voiding is one of the single largest lab within Gug Adjak. Arriving at this lab is not for the unitiated, at the double doors stand two gatekeeper golems. These golems were made special to not only accept tokens from temporarily authorized individuals but with indent slots to mirror the three concentric circle ring design the mages who work within wear. Tieh's research isn't overly secretive in nature but it is highly volatile and the security measures are more for safety than intellectual property.

Within the lab is a two story chamber. The first floor is wide open with various stations set up for apprentices to toil away their existence. The center of the room is dominated by a test area outfit with numerous glyph patterns painted by Tieh herself. These glyphing circles are security measures in case any of the apprentice's experiments go awry and something should step through the void. In such an event the glyphs can be activated with a single nonsense word from Tieh or Yorge. The counter-measures are only a delay tactic though and if a creature of significance ever arrives through the void protocols are in place to send a signal to the wardens.

In the back of the work area ascends a spiraling iron staircase. The second story is where Tieh's office is situated. Like the first floor it is an an open room with a long balcony running the entire length of the camber before for observation. This is where Tieh is generally found. When Yorge is not herding the apprentices he also works alongside Tieh in case she requires anything of her Master Apprentice.

Name: Frankie Lee Tieh
Race: Human
Skills
Malediction 80
Voiding 69
Intelligence 60
Glyphing 54
Auristics 36

Personality
She is friendly and welcomes companionship. Tieh has the tendency to blabber about her projects, supplying tons of information that's useless to the people she talks to. She is usually straightforward, tactless to a fault. She figured there would be no gain to hide her thoughts, feelings, and opinions. The nuits would never understand, anyway.
Tieh has an uncontrolled addiction to drink blood, something she is not very proud of. Her work ethics is similar to that of the Nuits - she could be a slave driver at times.

Appearance
Frankie Lee, physically, is nothing out of the ordinary. She is the kind of exhausted woman who appeared to be beautiful once, only life wasn't too kind. Her features resemble a gaunt Nuit, dark baggy eyes, thin frame, sluggish movements. She may look too humble to be considered mad, but her extensive research on Malediction and collated data on Voiding reveals the work of a sinister mind.

History:
A relatively young nuit he was once a student at the University of Zeltiva only marginally behind Frankie Lee Tieh. When she left Zeltiva he followed only a few seasons later, whether out of admiration or rivalry even Yorge was never sure. During his sea voyage a plague ravaged the crew. By the time the ship made it to Port Silence, Yorge was at Dira’s feet. He made a pact as soon as leaving the ship, he would work as an Apprentice for four decades in exchange for the Daek-Nuit and his continued existence.

Tieh, newly made Wizard, heard about the ritual as it was occurring and recalling the scrawny Yorge immediately made preparations to claim him as her own Apprentice. Claiming Yorge earned his complete loyalty for the promised servitude could have been served no better for the new nuit than under Tieh. Like Tieh’s rival ought to, Yorge proved himself quickly and over the dozens of seasons became the Master Maledictor’s most skilled apprentice.

Personality:
Becoming a Nuit gave Yorge a harshness he lacked in life. He expects nothing but absolute success even in the first foray into a new field. He runs Tieh’s laboratory with a steel gaze but he is also never wholly unreasonable. Yorge will see supplies for projects and assignments are always adequate and apprentices are taught the appropriate skills before being put to work. Doing it right the first time is his main philosophy.
