Taloba, home to the Myrians, is the thriving core of Falyndar. Inhabited by a fierce and savage tribe where blood sacrifices are normal and a way of life, they are untamed and proud of it. Warlike, and with their numbers growing, the Myrians are set on reclaiming what is rightfully theirs. [Lore]

Kol had changed.

There was something dark and twisted within him now, a depression fueled by anger and the feeling of failure. He wasn't able to save her, not in the way he should have. Kol had brought her peace, but only after she had been tormented, had been violated, had been suffering. In what way could be considered her savior? He had ended her pain, but at what cost?

Their family would never know, and it would never stop haunting him. Her eyes, once so bright with possibility, with hope of the future... They had been dulled when he found her, barely a husk of what she once was. It was then that her age became apparent. She wasn't a women, not even close. A girl, practically a child. So small, so vulnerable.

And he had killed her, or what was left of her. The feeling of his blade shoving past her ribs and into the fleshy beating of her heart... The light that had been dulled, flickered briefly in her green eyes, tears rolling down her face. She had slumped against his body, her embrace weakening and until her arms fell to her sides and Kol lowered her to the jungle floor.

"Thank you, big brother."

His chest tightened, the air suddenly becoming thicker, harder to breathe in. Kol had to stop walking, the barracks within view. He couldn't look weak, he needed to get himself together. Out of habit, a large calloused hand lifted to run through his long hair, only to come up in disappointment. His hair, which had been kept long since he was a boy was now short, a visual reminder to the pain he felt.

Kol lowered his hand slowly, pushing back his shoulders and marching forward. His jaw locked and his eyes set on his destination. A tent with a short line sat by the edge of the barracks, a sight that sparked a distant memory. It had been five years since he had first registered as a rekrut. Five years. Making his way over, Kol took his spot behind a young woman, perhaps eighteen, who chattered in excitement with the Myrian in front of her. Kol readjusted the pack on his back and dug the toe of his boot -- the same one with the akila hound bite marks -- impatiently into the dirt. One by one, the line began to dwindle, each prospective soldier going inside and coming out just a little bit prouder.

Soon it was his turn next, and he heard voices faintly within the cloth shelter asking various questions and specifics. When the female finished up, she came out of the tent with a smile that gave Kol the indication she had not experienced pain more than a punch or two at the training yards.

She would learn.

Staring at the entrance, Kol heard the order for him to enter. Pushing back the barrier to his new future, the male steeled himself. He was ready.

Desk duty. She had been pulled from the Zinrah Blockade to serve her time at desk duty. Granted, all of her sisters and honorable brothers - not just any male - to to serve at the Rekrut tent at some point. Her fang had been pulled to go back to Taloba, to rest and rejuvenate for a few days while she got to look at new blood. With a curl of her lip and a gentle whip of her hand, she generally had little to say to them. They were all so new, all so unharmed. They did not know pain and suffering. They did not know fear, death, or triumph. She had killed before, she knew what it was like. Patiently, another one left the tent with a stupid grin on her face. She would learn. Kreesha doubted it would take very long to break her happy spirit.

"Next!" Kreesha hissed with cold indignation. What stepped before her was an abnormal specimen of male. He was big, rivaling the shortest female. Shave, muscular. A fine specimen indeed, but that did not raise her spirits. Instead, it darkened them. Kreesha respected few males.

"Name, Clan, Age. Weapon of choice. Why do you want to be here." They weren't even requests, just cold commands for the information that she needed for his paper work. Oh how she hated paperwork. Beside her, a great Myrian Tiger rest it's head, watching Kol with the same bored hate that his rider harbored.

Kol walked inside the tent, the flap falling into place behind him. In front of him sat a desk with a Myrian woman staring coldly at her new guest. A tiger, both regal and nearly as agitated as its rider watched him closely. He went to move closer to stand parallel to the female. She immediately jumped to business, "Name, Clan, Age. Weapon of choice. Why do you want to be here."

There was no pause in his response, "Kol, Tempered Steel, twenty-five, bladed whip," He pulled the coil from the hook on his belt, turning it over so she could give a glance at the shards along the length of the leather. In the meantime, he searched for the answer to her last question.

Did she really need one? He was willing to fight, and he believed that was all she needed to know. However, saying such so openly would be an open sign of disrespect, something Kol was not wanting to tangle with now or later. Especially as the tiger's eyes followed his movements, "I am here to serve Myri and Taloba."

It was an uninteresting reply, but it held a sliver of truth. Why get into the details of his family issues or the fact that he had slain his baby sister days before in hopes to relieve her misery? He looked for no pity and those details were private, surely not to be shared with a higher up or anyone for that matter. Kol was not here to waste her time, just to get enlisted and sent on his way.

Kreesha listened to his responses, satisfied with the answers that Kol provided. An honorable name to an honorable clan as far as she knew. Nothing on his record, which the Mengintai kept perfectly, seemed to mark him as a problem. Her tiger watched, sniffing now and then as if he could determine something unseen from him. His final response was classic and all around not very creative. She pursed her lips. She expected something else from him. Yet, it was a suitable answer. Scribbling the last bit of information that she thought was pertinent to Kol's

"You are just like the others. Nothing special. Maybe you will prove me wrong. Most likely, you will not," She did not even look up as she said it. Instead she whipped a hand up in a flourish and whisked it about in a dismissive tone. Her time was precious, and much better spent on the Zinrah Blockade. "You shall be in Reiki's fang. If you have no other questions, go find her and put yourself to use."
