All alone

It's been half a year since Miirza turned one. She was now all alone, no family around her or anything. She decided that she wanted to go out to the wilderness, get away from the hustle and bustle of the city. So that's what she did.

The day after her birthday was quite emotional for her. She had woken up that morning with a heavy heart. After getting dressed, she had gone down to the same room they had opened their gifts in. everything was still and quiet. She looked around, seeing her arrow sitting on the hearth, the ash inside the fireplace sat there, black and white, not stirring at all. She walked out into the entrance hall of their small home, and looked up to see the tear streaked face of her mother smiling at her. They embraced each other, and her mother walked outside. Miirza decided that she would start her journey in her wolf form. She slowly shifted into the beautiful animal she was, and jogged outside. Her father smiled at the site of his daughter. He had her backpack in his hands, and was tugging the last strap tight. She walked up to him and he gently looped the pack around her stomach, making sure it rested on her back snug enough so she didn't lose it, but loose enough to be comfortable. He then gave her a large hug, and scratched her behind the ears.

"If you ever need anything, don't hesitate to ask," he said, though they both knew it was futile because she would probably never see them again. Still, Miirza gave a quick woof, acknowledging his words.

Her older sisters also said their goodbyes, before wandering off in different directions, and, surprisingly, her older brothers made the attempt at saying goodbye before they turned around and walked off. Miirza turned to her mother one last time, and got a face full of licks, her mother now being in wolf form as well. Miirza liked back and rested her head on her mother's shoulder, before finally turning toward the near gate and running off. The warders at the gate watched her run by, not doing anything to get in the way. Miirza ran for about a minute before she stopped, put her muzzle to the sky, and let out a long howl, which was answered from the city. With that, she turned once again, and streaked off into the wild.

For the first few weeks, she stayed in wolf form, hunting small animals when she got hungry. She slept anywhere comfortable enough for her, not really caring where. After about a month, she found a nice place, secluded enough, where she could have a bit of a camp while she planned out what she was going to do. She had difficulty though in that regard. No matter what she thought of, she always ended up discarding the notion, because she didn't have the wherewithal to see it through. She knew that with more money, she could get it, but she didn't have any ideas on how to get money, until one day, while she was out getting some food. She saw a small, temporary camp, consisting of a tent, and fire pit. She was curious, so she watched for a while, and about three hours after finding the camp, saw a man walk in carrying a dead deer.

That's it she thought to herself. I know how to hunt, thanks to papa, I could probably get some funds from that, though I would need a bow at least. She went back to her camp, thinking the whole way there on what all she'd need to make a small living off of hunting. She would go back into Avanthal once she knew all she needed, and figured out about how much it would all cost.

After about a week of crunching the numbers, she felt pleased with the notion that she had everything figured out. She would hunt for the next few days, try and get some small furry things to eat, and then she would travel back to Avanthal and acquire the needed items. But for now she just relaxed, and played around with the idea of maybe visiting her parents while she was there. This train of thought brought a small smile to her face. It was comforting to know that she might be able to visit them when she was in town.
