Lab 2-A (Exploration of Sentience) One of the two private laboratories on the second floor of the Gug Adjak, Lab 2-A covers much of the northeastern corner. The lab's entrance, a simple iron door, hints at the basic set up -- minimalist, even -- of the main room. In fact, at first glance, the laboratory seems completely empty. And Thomas tries to keep up that appearance, usually, anyway. Despite himself, the pulser can become obsessed with his many current projects, discarded designs and shredded notes littering the marbled floors at times, metal scraps and odd parts at others. However, the lab is always cleared before an animation, and the entrance always locked; his magic not allowing for interruptions. Much of the wall space is storage, drawers and cubby holes lining most of the laboratory -- something Thomas immediately took advantage of for organization purposes. Upon close inspection. Small labels detail the contents of each and every space, the wizard taking the upmost care to organize his workshop. Thomas keeps most of the general necessities in stock always (paper, ink, everyday tools, gadgets, and simple mechanisms) but has also set aside room for the more specialized items. The east facing wall hides a sizable pull out desk and chair, as well as a door that leads to the pulser's personal chambers. Inside, while not incredibly tasteful, Thomas managed to obtain enough to make his "home" slightly more hospitable. A simple cot, a small chest for whatever personal items the wizard can scrounge together, a wooden table and chair, and a privy make up most of the useable space -- not large by any means, but comfortable enough by Sahovan standards. Livable in a word. Perhaps most interesting is the small north facing window, hidden away in the pulser's living chambers, and to Thomas, the most valuable. Offering the pulser a wide view of Silent Port and the Bay Area, he takes great care to keep the window clean -- after seasons of living underneath the isle, this small window to the bay may just be keeping him sane. Born into the noble house of the South Winds, she had hopes that once reached to the throne of the Pressorah. Unfortunately, she overshot, missing the throne and eventually landing herself on the isle of the dead. She was far more than just desperate; exiled from her homeland and peoples, she was completely on her own for the first time in her life. In her panic, she made a decision -- she had heard stories, rumors of an island off the coast of Sylira where her once chastised "tinkering" skills would be of some worth. Sahova. The closer she managed to get, the worse the stories got; murders and spies, old evils prisoned on the island's lifeless shores, monsters and magics better left untouched and forgotten. Still, it was the rumors of undead politics, underhanded backstabbing and betrayals that eventually brought her to Sahova's dock. It wasn't Ahnatep, after all, but it was a close second. Laria eventually found herself apprenticed to Cid, in Lab 15, and now, as per Thomas request, finds herself as the gadgeteering partner to a wizard underneath the Archwizard himself.
