The Diamond of Kalea is located on Kalea's extreme west coast and called as such because its completely made of a crystalline substance called Skyglass. Home of the Alvina of the Stars, cultural mecca of knowledge seekers, and rife with Ethaefal, this remote city shimmers with its own unique light.

Iraltu's Observatory

Iraltu's Observatory is a relatively large building located on the Sartu peak, on the third and highest tier. The building is built in the typical Lhavitian style, domed and complex, the entrance a large set of dark brown double doors with exquisite carvings of the stars. The Observatory itself is not as packed as one might assume from the exterior.

The interior ground floor is circular, with several wooden desks placed on the side, normally sprawled with many many parchments containing information on various stars and constellations. A ring of bookshelves align the walls, and a team of three to five Lhavitian astronomers are always in this room at any hour of any day.

On the far left corner is a set of spiraling stairs that leads to the second level, a smaller circular room with a large mural quadrant placed at the center of an enormous glassless window, some believing it to be lined-up precisely with the meridian of Mizahar. Several other sextants and tools lie on various desks sprawled on the far end, and there are a handful of telescopes, special instruments similar to spyglasses made with skyglass lenses that can magnify objects when looked through to make them easier to see; telescopes in particular are used to observe the night sky. This second story is not to be entered unless under direct supervision of one of the astronomers in the Observatory.

The name 'Iraltu' comes from the creator of the Observatory, Iraltu Twilight, who hailed from the Twilight Tower in 234 AV. He was an exceptional morpher, but was mostly fascinated by the guidance of Zintila's stars. He built the one and only Observatory in Lhavit in an effort to create maps and guides for those needing aid for coordinates, or to establish the direct locations of constellations, and to this day his followers have kept this building and his tools in pristine shape.

Ezrah is a born and raised Lhavitian, and has always been deeply fascinated by the skies and stars. His father was a Svefra sailor, and so Ezrah grew up learning about the usefulness of the stars and how they could be used to navigate and help guide those on land or sea, keeping them from getting lost.

For a long time growing up, Ezrah thought that he wanted to join the Constellations, for what better way to get closer to the stars than to serve their Lady? But the drudgery of politics bored him, and so instead he found himself working at the Observatory. His skills quickly became apparent, and his passion was unmatched; it didn't take him long to become the current head astronomer, and he has held the position for several years now.

Luke was born to a Drykas father and an Inartan mother; both gave him a bold personality and a taste for adventure. Unfortunately, his mother fell ill when he was still rather young, and his father left them to return to a nomadic lifestyle. This made young Luke unable to leave his home, as he was suddenly the primary caretaker of a very sick woman. To sate his desire for travel and adventure without abandoning his mother, Luke turned to the stars.

By the time his mother passed, Luke was well on his way to finishing the first draft of his star atlas project. Despite the fact that he was now free to be as adventurous as he wished, spending so many years studying the stars had ignited a passion for them in him, and Luke was now focused on documenting Lhavit's night sky. Seeing his hard work and dedication, Ezrah took Luke under his wing and gave him a position at the observatory. Luke enjoys the work, and loves to share his passion with anyone who will listen.
