All along the forge the sign of a hard day work was present. Many of the other smiths had sweat dripping down there faces, Elina being no different. For such a cool day earlier the woman had assumed maybe inside the forge a bit of breeze for once. Sadly she was wrong. All over her body the signs of work littered her outside. From black marks on her face to a sore hand from swinging hammers all day. Looking down at her work she felt a small sense of accomplishment, even if her entire job right now was simply lengthening out metal to be given to the next man.
After her job was done, the next man would take the metal and punch into it, digging in the carvings that was required of the weaponry. Simple decorations, nothing to much to take out any of the strength of the blade. Seven pieces of metal were ready to be worked on again tomorrow. On the next day the smiths would begin adding the actual shape of the blade, sharpness as well as welding the other bits of iron left out. If the team work quick some of the finishing touches could also begin getting done to the blades. Such as grinding and brushing the surfaces of the swords.
Elina walked to the room adjacent to the forge. Here she deposited her working gloves as well as apron. She felt so relieved to finally take of the thick leather gloves that swallowed her hands. No matter how much the woman enjoyed the work, there was still a deep pleasure in actually taking off such items. On the other side of the rather small room was the workers things, Elina had placed her backpack here when she arrived. She removed her work shirt as quickly as possible, most of the other smiths already leave by now. It seemed she was the only one unable to stand wearing such dirty clothing. Quickly she placed the dirty shirt inside and pulled out her brown tunic. After adjusting the shirt to her liking and fixing her hair into a more comfortable position, Elina was ready to finally leave.
Walking back through the forge the Master Smith was speaking to one of the other workers, it seemed to be a younger kid. Most likely an apprentice. Elina gave a small wave goodbye to the smith and he return with a gentle nod back. As was common Elina remained on the edges of the Vitrax grounds, wishing to avoid any of the soldiers sparring. When she arrived at the gate the guard checked her bag for anything and opened the gate for her to pass. Elina tried to engage in conversation but the guard on duty today wouldn't say a word. Upon leaving both the Vitrax as well as the temple she quickly got a ride from a boatman. No others needed a ride so the boat was all to herself. As the boat left the temple Elina couldn't help but look back and marvel at the sheer size of such a thing. Her attention then turned back to the boatman, she would need to find a way to actually get from her home to work someway that didn't require payment she thought to herself. Maybe tomorrow she could think on that, but right now. It was time to enjoy the ride.
