The Diamond of Kalea is located on Kalea's extreme west coast and called as such because its completely made of a crystalline substance called Skyglass. Home of the Alvina of the Stars, cultural mecca of knowledge seekers, and rife with Ethaefal, this remote city shimmers with its own unique light.

The Dawn Tower is located on the Tenten Peak, and is residence to the Dawn house, one of the three ancient families that first came to prominence just after Lhavit's creation. It is a sight to behold, having been newly reconstructed due to an unfortunate incident where it was nearly burned to the ground roughly forty years ago.

ImageSince that time, the Tower has used shields to prevent such a disaster from ever happening again. The fundamental composition of the structure is stone, with wood scarce throughout the building except for furniture. Many of the interior chambers combine all four of the elements in some way or another; one of the most notable features are the canals that run from room to room, as well as outside of the tower itself, and the ponds in many of the larger rooms, adding an element of serenity to the otherwise bustling tower. Water lilies and other plants float on the surface of the placid waters, adding a gentle, subtle fragrance to the hallways and rooms. Open windows, terraces, and columned hallways are also common, to allow for the free flow of air within the building; as well as this, many of the interior hallways feature skylights in the ceiling that can be opened.

ImageThe east wing of the estate is wholly dedicated to instruction, and most of the classrooms can be found there. The classrooms are wide and open, with the outside wall made entirely of windows to allow as much light in as possible, and with large balconies; even in poorer weather, these windows are left open, only being shut when deemed absolutely necessary. A stone hearth sits at the back of each room, stocked with plenty of firewood and always lit no matter the weather, providing a large, crackling fire in every classroom.

The west and north wings house the personal residences of the Dawn Family, as both Sousa and Hitori boast large families. Yana and Lheili on the other hand, require but small living areas, Yana being only recently married and Lheili still unwed. The south wing is the entry wing; upon entering the Tower, one will find themselves in an entrance hall. The walls are made of stone, while the floor is a deep, polished wood. Canals run along all walls except the back, which lead into the Tower, and there is a constant breeze from the wide open windows along the walls. In the center of the hall is a wooden desk, behind which sits a young man named Artin, the receptionist for the Dawn Tower.

The south wing is also home to the library, though it is modest in comparison to the libraries of the other houses. There are also a set of stairs here that lead to the Basilika, the courtyard sitting in the shadow of the Tower. The Dawn Tower teaches classes in reimancy, though they also teach some shielding.

Artin Seder
ImageName: Artin Seder
Birthdate: 498 AV
Birthplace: Lhavit
Occupation: Receptionist at the Dawn Tower
Skills: Calligraphy - 53, Organization - 90, Intimidation - 22, Interrogation - 20, Writing - 74
Languages: Common (Fluent)

Artin is a young man who was born into wealth. While most children in Lhavit are encouraged to make their own way, his mother doted on him hand and foot after the death of his father when he was young, and it made him grow into somewhat of a spoiled brat.

Cold and sometimes not even polite, Artin is disdainful and often rude. He looks down on most, and has a haughty and aloof air to him. More than once he's been snide to people entering the Tower, and more than once has he been reprimanded over it. He has a skill for making people feel as if they're being questioned when he speaks to them, and greatly enjoys making people squirm.

That being said, he is impeccably neat and organized both personally and in his work, and that is probably his only saving grace that has kept him from being fired. He has neat and beautiful handwriting, a strict filing system, and never a hair out of place.

Lheili Dawn
ImageName: Lheili Dawn
Birthdate: 494 AV
Birthplace: Lhavit
Occupation: Teacher at the Dawn Tower
Skills: Meditation - 55, Reimancy - 76, Rhetoric - 80, Seduction - 17, Shielding - 60, Teaching - 52
Languages: Common (Fluent)

The youngest and most carefree of all in the Dawn House, Lheili is the only member to have never married. She is also regarded as a far softer instructor than her elder sister, Hitori. The people of Lhavit know her as one of the carefree souls of the Dawn Tower, a wild spirit never truly and properly tamed.

Lheili is a spirited debater and relishes killing time at the Basilika. She often accompanies Yana to the Bharani Library, and has cultivated a strong relationship with the Seekers there. She is the first to stand up and defend the Tower from slander, though at times she can be a bit too incensed. In fact, Lheili has earned herself a reputation as a hothead, in certain circles.

She is also rumoured to keep very close counsel with Chiona Dusk of the Dusk Tower; many say they are even in a secret relationship. However, as of late, the two have been noticeably absent from each other's presence, and new rumours are spreading that the pair have split after Lheili was seen kissing someone else.

Yana Dawn
ImageName: Yana Dawn
Race: Human
Birthdate: 491 AV
Birthplace: Lhavit
Occupation: Reimancer at the Dawn Tower
Skills: Architecture - 72, Construction - 43, Leadership - 89, Meditation - 60, Reimancy - 87, Weapon (Polearm) - 52
Languages: Common (Fluent)

Yana is the leader of Lhavit's emergency reimancy team. Many say she is a more talented reimancer than even Sousa herself, but never had the opportunity to ascend to head of the Tower. Yana dismisses these claims as a load of tripe. She is a no-nonsense, hardworking mage and architect, though the latter is by and far her first love.

Yana relishes in building things and actively oversees construction in the city, working side by side with the Akka in order to combine the use of skyglass and reimancy techniques, building the city's civil buildings. She is also an avid student of pre-Valterrian architecture and holds a great deal of respect for both Suva and Alahea in that regard. When not traipsing about the city, she can be found either at the Tower or holed up in the Bharani Library, poring over blueprints.

Hitori Dawn
★ ★ ★Note: As of summer 519 AV, Hitori was murdered by the Magekiller; therefore, she may only be used in flashbacks prior to this date.

ImageName: Hitori Dawn
Race: Human
Birthdate: 486 AV
Birthplace: Lhavit
Occupation: Teacher at the Dawn Tower
Skills: Meditation - 52, Observation - 50, Reimancy - 82, Rhetoric - 30, Shielding - 60, Teaching - 68
Languages: Common (Fluent)

Hitori Dawn is closest in age to Sousa, and boasts a mastery of all four elemental magics. On a person level she is known to be warm and maternal, but at the Tower, Hitori is a merciless instructor when it comes the art of control. Even with the passive elements, she knows that in the hands of the destroyer they're fearsome forces in their own right. She only teaches the most promising of students, for only they can keep up with the demands she sets upon them.

Hitori is by and large, the most notorious pedagogue and has been known to lecture for hours. Albeit brilliant, she is in love with the art of instruction. The more resentful students of the Tower assert that she loves to hear the sound of her own voice.

Sousa Dawn
ImageName: Sousa Dawn
Race: Human
Birthdate: 482 AV
Birthplace: Lhavit
Occupation: Head of the Dawn Tower
Skills: Leadership - 81, Meditation - 55, Musical Instrument (Violin) - 51, Politics - 49, Reimancy - 90, Shielding - 72
Languages: Common (Fluent)

Sousa Dawn is the current head of the Dawn Tower. The Dawn house has learned to steady their minds and keep their wits about them through extensive meditation, and Sousa is certainly no different. Daughter to the former head of the Tower, Rieje Dawn, she took over as the eldest and has since guided her family along the honourable and forthright path.

She is often known for stating the bald truth in her soft, reassuring voice. In many ways, Sousa seems to be a contradiction. She is incredibly easygoing in person, soothing almost, and has the unmistakable ability to deflate a hostile situation; and yet she is almost always the cause of it. In the past, she would often beget heated arguments during meetings between the Dawn and Twilight Towers. With the passing of Weisur Twilight, however, her opinion of the Twilight Tower has drastically changed. She believes Altelo to be wise and his judgement sound.

Sousa is very easy to get along with, when the person in question is favoured. If they are not, beware; she is fearsome, particularly when angry, though her anger comes across as venom rather than outright rage.

Prices
Tuition

Novice class: 25 kina/season
Competent class: 50 kina/season
Expert class: 75 kina/season
Master class: 100 kina/season

Due to the incredibly intimate and intense nature of initiation, students will never be initiated into reimancy by any instructors at the Dawn Tower. While they offer classes on it, students who wish to learn how to better use reimancy must have already been previously initiated into the magic. Exceptions may apply but rarely, and not to the standard student.

Classes on either reimancy or shielding are offered at the Dawn Tower, usually taught by either Lheili or Hitori, but also by other instructors as well. Classes may involve lectures covering the theory, history, benefits, and dangers of a particular magic, as well as hands-on practice.

Tuition cost is per subject and stacks; students are expected to pay the per season fees for each subject they wish to attend classes on. Tuition fees must be paid at the start of the season, before classes begin. Should one increase their skill level in a subject mid-season, they will immediately be moved up to the next class level, and expected to pay the difference.

OOC Info
Becoming a student at the Dawn Tower is not merely a simple matter of registering; those allowed to study at the Dawn Tower are carefully and exclusively chosen. One most have connections of some sort or another to either a member of the Dawn family, the Constellations, or the Shinya; even then, acceptance is not guaranteed. The only time a student can be guaranteed acceptance without a shadow of a doubt is if they provide a recommendation letter from Aysel, Talora, one of the Saya, or Zintila herself.

Admission as a student to the Dawn Tower is not simple, but a PC may work towards the necessary connections in-game to achieve this; contact your ST if you wish to attend the Dawn Tower as a student to discuss details.

This location is free to self-moderate as long as you are a student at the Tower.
