52nd, Spring Running. That was the last way she wanted to spend the morning or any morning for that matter, yet here she was doing exactly the opposite of what she would have liked to be doing which was remaining stationary and resting, not darting down the busied streets and growing tired. It wasn't as if her day had started of as every other, but that certainly didn't make being chased through the streets by a large group of angry thugs any less frustrating. Having been to hurried to pack her belongings properly, her backpack exclaimed with each step, its contents bouncing up and down, as the young thief fled her pursuers. She hadn't done anything wrong, not today at least, but it seemed the sins of the previous day had carried over and given her a rude awakening in the form of an angry gang. Raven had skillfully robbed the group of their collection of stolen coin the day before and had apparently been found out, the men arriving at her lodgings to request that the woman return their 'well-earned' coin or pay the price. The price would quite obviously have been death considering that each of the three men carried with them a weapon, one with a dagger, the other with a club and a third with a bow and some arrows. Raven still didn't know how they'd found her before she had the chance to leave, something which she had already been planning to do the night before, which was why she'd awoken early and was already packed when the men had begun their siege of her sleeping quarters. She'd stepped out almost immediately to hear their offer before promptly kicking one of the men in the gut before sprinting off in the opposite direction and now here she was, still darting through the crowded streets with the thugs on her heels. Raven would have liked to think of herself as fast, but with the weight of her belongings and crowded streets slowing her down she had been unable to increase the space between the attackers and herself, so not wanting to fight the group of armed men, she continued to run. With each sudden corner she took, she thought she'd be able to gain enough ground to lose the angry men but time and time again the proved that they would not allow it to happen. Turning a corner into yet another long crowded street, Raven ran through the mass of moving people, using her agility to twist and dash around Sunberth's many citizens while the sounds of shouting and scuffling that came from behind told her that the thugs had decided on a more direct path, all three of them barreling through anyone who was in their way with no concern for their well-being. "Damn it. They're persistent." the amber eyed thief complained as she looked back to see the men nearing slightly with each passing moment, she needed to pick up the pace. |
