Riverfall is a maze of a city, and it can be head ache inducing for those who aren't used to being in a big city. Zephari has been in Riverfall for just over a week and is feeling that head ache. She has gone through the process of getting a home, a job, and a general feel for the city. It has been a massive shift from her home in Eyktol. Zephari has traveled from place to place, not staying for long in each place, for her entire life. All of those places have been pretty much the same, desolate sandy desert, with the occasion city in which she visited. Riverfall on the other hand is vibrant and chaotic in comparison, at least in Zephari's mind.
Waking up to the smell of the sea, Zephari panics slightly, but then remembers where she is. "By Yahals mercy that is a strange way to get up in the morning.", Zephari says as she rubbed the sleepiness from her eyes. She looks over at her side table, which has a calender on it. "Too bad I don't have work today...". Zephari has been thoroughly enjoying work in the mine's finding it simple and calming. The city life on the other hand is significantly harder. She has greatly enjoyed meeting new people and seeing all the new cultural aspects of the city, yet adjusting to the actual city part has been rather stressful. After getting out of bed and getting cleaned up, Zephari decides it time to get out of the city and go out and explore. She grabs her cloak and pick, then heads out for the city gates, leading to the sea of grass. Upon ariving at the main gate, she is stopped my an Akalak guard. "What is it?" Zephari says looking up at him, sounding slightly indignant. The guard simply says with a straight face; "Just a warning to you that the gates close at night, and night outside the city can be rather dangerous." Zephari smiles and quickly replies; "I can take care of myself even if I get caught outside at night!". She then goes outside the gate and boards one of the ferries. Once across the river, Zephari immediately cuts off of the main road onto a game trail, and follows it for a while, almost running. Her heart pumps with adrenaline as she regains that feeling of freedom she has been used to her entire life. She quickly tires after about 100 meters, having little experience in running or sprinting. She flops down into the grass and sighs happily. "This grass is almost as soft as the sand back home....". Zephari mouths a few words of thanks to Yahal for the soft grass and clean air. After lying down for about 15 minutes she stands up, looking around. "Now lets see what kind of hidden places we can find here..." she says, heading towards the top of a small ridge.
And so starts a day of exploration outside Riverfall.
