Turrin looked up at Drusilla and waited for her reaction. He hoped the symenestra didn't think that he was running away because he wasn't. He just needed time to mourn for Syveris and stay away from Wind Reach for time till he figures out his place in the city. At the moment, he felt more and more like a outsider everyday since the riots. Lately he had been getting nasty looks from the lower castes, so maybe it would be best to stay away from the city or start hanging out with his caste more. Maybe the lower caste will forget his involvement in the riots; however, sacrificing a Dek to Myri wasn't something the lower castes would forget for a long time, so it might be safer for Drusilla if he just disappeared for a time till everything blew over. Turrin hoped Drusilla would understand, but as he watched her make her quick exit. He knew that she truly didn't understand his reason for leaving again.
When Turrin heard something drop onto the ground outside the room, the myrian looked at the door for a tick. Turrin just sat back and looked at the burnt skulls sitting on the alter, and he wondered what his sister and mother would say about his situation. Standing up, Turrin opened the door and saw the basket of rotten fruit lying on the floor. The myrian bent down and started to clean up the fruit. As he cleaned up the spoiled fruit, the myrian wondered if he upset her with his words. When he was finished, he brought it into Aponivi's room and flung the spoiled contents off the side of the cliff. Once he was done, the myrian turned to Aponivi and said softly, “Get your rest my friend because we will be leaving tomorrow...” Aponivi didn't say a word as the endal left the room and went to sleep.
