Bondmate in Need (Moxie)

Postby Beodan Clathony on July 26th, 2015, 5:29 pm

54th, Summer 515AV
Just North of the horizontal road, where forest meets plains.

“Come on!” Beodan grunted, has hand grasped firmly on a the end of a root where it met the stock, his knuckles growing white from exertion. “I don’t like you, and you don’t like me. But I am going to get you out of there, one way or another. Phaa-leese,” he begged melodramatically. As this had been just meant to be a ride to the fields for a long grazing session, he had neglected to bring the tools for this sort of thing, as well as any clothes. He stopped his labors to catch his breath, his hands on his knees, panting hard. It must have been a very mature Elentai plant for its roots to be this well grounded. Or one had wrapped around a rock or something. He gave it a look of pure disdain.

In his breathless state and focus on the plant, he did not notice two men creep out from the edge of the woods until one of them spoke. He jumped clear off the ground, the unexpected voice scaring him. “Freak, stay where you are, or I’ll gut you where you stand. Why don’t you come with us, we love Freaks like you, don’t we Grim?,” the man in front of him said, wielding some sort of large knife in his right hand. A voice behind him rasped his agreement, “Sure do,” causing Dan to crane his head to look at him. This one was also thug like, but held two large half circles made of metal, held together by a hinge. A collar? Why would he have a-.. Oh.

The Kelvic’s eyes widened in terror at the realization. Had they followed him? The knew he was a Kelvic somehow. But they had not attacked at his tent, so maybe the did not know where he lived. He could only hope. He had more pressing things to concern himself with though. Acting on instinct, a bright flash of light lit up his body. He bucked his hind legs, catching the man behind him in the sternum, feeling the cracking of bone. The man in front had recovered quickly from his surprised, swinging his knife threateningly, causing Beodan to rear up on his hind legs, falling back down to the side to avoid the knife blow. He must have had practice with this sort of thing, to be so unfazed by the sudden shifting. Steel proved fast though, as the blade dug into his hind leg, below the knee at an angle. The wounded horse squealed and whined in protest, desperately shooting his good hind leg at his opponent.

The second strike caught something and the man fell back. His vision tinted red with hurt and rage, the fight or flight response in high gear. Flight was no longer an option. Dan limped over to the man and slammed his front feet down on the man’s body, breaking bones. Red ichor of life flowed freely from his wound, clotting in his hair. He shifted back once more and wrapped his hands around the horizontal gash, trying to stop the blood flow. The adrenaline effects were fading, and he could feel it clearly now. A source of terrible pain blotting out all other thoughts. His hands were soon dyed red, but the blood flow was only hindered. He needed help.

Bondmate in Need (Moxie)

Moxie felt better being closer to Beodan, but he had things to do that day so she let him go. She stayed behind at his Pavilion tent, waiting anxiously for his return. It was a lovely place with so many different plants. Earth and plant smells filled her nostrils and she found to quite enjoy the aroma. Moxie walked outside of the tent peering in the direction that Beodan went. She wondered how far he was, feeling worried about him.

The Konti gasped softly as an overwhelming feeling of anger then pain exploded inside her. She fell to her knees frowning as the connection with her bondmate told her that Beodan was in pain and he needed help. Moxie wasted no time, she got off her knees and ran in the direction at Beodan was. She calmed her racing out, knowing he could feel her emotions too. Instead she sent him love to let him know that she was nearby and on the way. She pumped her legs faster as she went down the road. Her muscles groaned in protest but she ran for the life of Beodan, a man she loved, her bondmate.

She leaped over a small obstacle in the way, as she ran harder and faster, pushing herself to get to Beodan. After a few minutes she found him at the edge of the forest. Her precious Dan was laying there, blood seeping out of his wound on his leg. She gasped as she looked around her, in the forest upon a tree there was some moss, Moxie snatched some off of the bark of the tree and bent down to Beodan. "You okay? Need herb for healing, know anything?" She asked him in a calm and soft voice as she took the moss and packed his bleeding wound with it to help stop the blood flow, the moss being naturally absorbent would absorb the blood.

She wanted to pull him into her arms, but thought maybe he was in too much pain to do so, instead she awaited his answer. He knew a good deal about plants, perhaps he knew of something she could find close by, to make into a medicine for his leg. Once she was done packing the moss into his shallow wound, she looked down at her hands covered with her blood. Anger started to seep inside her, "How did this happen? Did someone hurt you? I will kill them." the Konti said coldly, as she glanced around her. She did not like confrontations, but that all changed when someone hurt someone she loved. She would kill them for hurting her Beodan.

Bondmate in Need (Moxie)

Beodan kept the pressure on his wound, his face getting pale. The pain came in waves, great throbs of increased agony as his heart. The hands around his lower leg were cramping up, having been tensed in one position for some time, though it did seem to be helping. He was sure Moxie would come for him, her feelings of worry and love went a long way to alleviate his panic. He was not panicking, really. He was just extremely scared. He was starting to feel a little light headed, his breath camp in short gasps. She would be here soon, she had to.

His cheeks became wet when he saw her appear out of the trees, breathless and beautiful. He laughed nervously, relieved that help had arrived. “You okay? Need herb for healing, know anything?” she said, her voice as soft and cool as silk. She pressed tightly bunched most against the wound on the side of his calf, still green with dirt on the side that was now in his cold hands. He held the wad of absorbent plants in place as best as he could. His mind raced, going over every herb he knew of that grew in the area.

Coagulant, that is what he needed. Paprika was expensive, and there would not be a jar of it laying around anyway. Easy to find too, so she could retrieve it without him there. Lidgefar? Too hard probably, that left... “Vyfox,” he choked out, naming the common healing herb, “Lots of straight stems and.... lance-like leaves made of smaller ones. There are… disks of tiny white flowers on top. Look between trees in the sun. Roll the petals between… between your palms, place it on the cut, then put the... whole leaves on top. Wrap i-it if.. you ..can.” He trailed off, out of air in his lungs, black spots eating at his vision. Less talking then.

Dan would need to get back to his tent if he wanted to patch himself up properly. A bath with Connal would be nice, but before that, Elentai to prevent it from a nasty infection, and Belltor for help with the scarring. But a lovely bath, lavender and rosemary, how lovely--- His lightheaded mind was wandering. He wished his other half was with him as he struggled to stay conscious.

Vyfox of course how could she be so stupid, she remembered that herb, she knew exactly what he was talking about as it was very common among the forest. She nodded her head and ran off into the woods, it did not take her long to find the beautiful little herb and she brought it back to Beodan knowing the pain was causing him troubles.

She removed the moss gently from his wound, rolling the petals between her palms she then placed it on the cut at his leg. Taking the lance-like leaves she placed them on top. She did not have anything to use as a wrapping, looking down at her skirt that needed to be replaced anyways, she snagged her finger in one of the holes at the bottom, then ripped to make it come off in a long strand. She did this repeatedly until the long skirt that came above her ankles was was now inches below her knee. Moxie then took the long strips and started wrapping them around his injured leg, she was trying to be soft, but she had to make it tight so it would stay in place. After she had wrapped the wound with multiple strips of cloths, tying them off tightly but not too tight just enough to make it secure, she looked over at Beodan. He did not seem to be feeling well.

"Danny.. Please talk to me.. stay awake." She gently pushed at Beodan to waken him from his drowsiness. Moxie knew he was feeling lightheaded, she could feel what he was feeling inside, but he had to be strong. They needed to get to his tent. Moxie moved from the leg as it was now bound tightly, placing his head in her lap she brushed at his hair, "There now my little horse, it will be okay. Calm down your panic is only causing to make it worse. There now my love, it will be okay, breath easy for me. I need you, I can not lose you now that I just found you. Please do not leave me." Moxie said this in her fluent language Kontinese hoping it would help calm her bondmate, as the language of the Konti was a calming, musical, and soft language that made people relax and feel the peacefulness of her race. She stroked his hair softly, small tears trailing down her cheeks, she was so worried about him. She did not want to lose him.

Bondmate in Need (Moxie)

Postby Beodan Clathony on July 27th, 2015, 1:55 am

Moxie returned quickly the herb in hand, petals already crushed and ready to be applied. She knelt down at his side and moved the moss, a hiss escaping his lips as the pain spiked. Now that his hands and the moss were not in the way, the wound could be seen clearly. It about as wide as the edge a miza and about four inches long, blood bright red as it met the air. If it would have been pulled apart, muscle would have been easily seen. Luckily it was not that deep, his horse hide and hair having slowed the knife’s decent, so the muscles was only scratched.. Beodan gritted his teeth as the crushed petals were spread on his wound, irritating the raw flesh.

Instantly, the blood clotted, and the now gelatinous liquid only escaped from his body at a crawl. The leaves helped too. The injured Kelvic was not looking at the wound, the effort of picking his head up was too great, and the ground was so comfortable, the short grasses and soft moss. His eyes closed, then opened after a frightful moment in a lazy blink. The darkness seemed so welcoming. It offered a break from the pain. Pain was a constant now, and for something to take it away… It was tempting. “Danny..Please talk to me.. stay awake,” a familiar voice said, hear through his ears and his very being. The name came to him.

Moxie. He was shocked back to reality. His eyes had been open, but unseeing. Now the summer blue sky hung above his head, with a blurry white field in the middle. He blinked, willing the blotch to come into focus. His pupils dilated, revealing the face of his bondmate. That’s right, she had come for him. He smiled, his brown gaze tracing over her silver locks. It looked so tantalizing, he reached out with a hand began to play with the silken strands, seeking any distraction from the pain. He was vaguely aware of his head being lifted and set on something very soft. Yes, this was much better than the ground. His world was slowly becoming clearer. Fingers ran through his hair. A soothing repetitive motion as she crooned, with far to many strange words, “...Safe….Calm….Love…Need…” It was beautiful, even if he was only getting the basic concepts. He would like to learn this way of speaking.

Beodan could see tears escaping her eyes, and he wiped the offending liquid off of her porcelain cheek with the pad of a thumb. He smiled, and said breathily, “Don’t worry, I’ll be fine. Just...help me home. I think I can walk with you. Don’t leave, my love.”

Beodan seem to be coming through, back out of the blurriness of his pain. He reached up wiping the tears away with his thumb making her smile softly at him, his voice came out a bit in a gasp telling her not to worry that he would be fine and just needed help walking home, then he called her 'my love.' She was not sure what to think of that, her breath hitched at the words but simply nodded her head, helping him up off the ground so they could start the walk back to his tent.

As they walked it was in silence for awhile as she pondered over the words he had used. "Was this love? Did he love me like that? What if this is just the bond? Perhaps newly bonded people feel this way at first? He really can not love me in such a short span of time? Maybe he just loves the thought of me?" She rolled her lower lip between her teeth, a nervous habit when she was thinking as her thoughts stayed on the man who used the frightening word 'love' towards her. She cared about him it was true, she even loved him though she was unsure if it was romantic love or just the love of a bondmate. It was all very confusing to Moxie so she let the thoughts go, looking over at her Danny to make sure he was making it. It seemed it was taking great effort to walk, the pain causing them to walk at a slow pace. Though the bleeding had came to a stop, she knew once they got to his tent though she would be able to help him better. She did not know medicine to a great extent but she hoped she knew enough to make the wound feel slightly better.

She looked into the warm depths of his eyes, riddled with pain, "What happened?" He had yet to explain to her how this came to be, how he became wounded. In the midst of everything that was going on the only thing she could think of was to stop the bleeding and help him. But now she could not help but wonder how this came to be, who was responsible, and who she needed to kill for harming her bondmate.

Bondmate in Need (Moxie)

Postby Beodan Clathony on July 27th, 2015, 4:07 am

Beodan gratefully accepted Moxie’s help getting onto his feet. Blood rushed up to his head, making him a little dizzy once more, and he threw his arm around her shoulders for support. His limp made him closer to her height, a thought that produced a small smile. Now that the wound had stopped bleeding, it did not hurt nearly as much as before, though he could still feel his pulse strongly under the bandages. He gingerly tested its ability to hold weight. It hurt a little, but would be fine to walk slowly on. Certainly no running, he would tear it right open again. He nodded at his bondmate, signalling that he was able to leave. Slowly and laboriously, they began their trip back to the tent.

Through the trees they went, their silent emotional conversation only interrupted when spoken words were needed. Moxie turned to him, and Dan met her violet gaze, his brow stuck in a slight wrinkle due as he attempted to lock the agony in a dark corner in his mind. “What happened?” she asked, her voice just above a whisper. He thought for a moment. A large section of that time was blurred, but he managed to assemble a chronological list of events.

Dan reached up to scratch the back of his head with his left hand before starting, his voice carrying a hint of tension, “Well I had been galloping along the edge of the woods, and stopping to graze every few chimes or so. Then I found a large Elentai growing more towards the plains side of things, and tried to uproot it, but it wouldn’t give.” He realized he should get to the part she was probably asking about, and skipped ahead, “Anyway, these two guys snuck up on me out of the forest, and told me to come with them. One had a collar for me, the other a big knife. I kicked them both, but the one with the knife got a good hit on my leg.” He chuckled ruefully, a spike of pain reminding him of just how good a hit it really was. Though, he counted himself lucky. It could just as easily be his throat that had been cut, and that no amount of herbs would fix fast enough.

They slipped back into an easy silence for the remainder of the long trip. Or rather, easy silence and pained intakes of breath. His leg had started to hurt worse the farther they had traveled, and it was now almost as bad as it had been when it was fresh. They were very close now, the familiar path almost brought happy tears to his eyes. He never had appreciated a path more than he did now for what it signified. Soon he was pulling open the thick flap to his tent, and sitting down on the couch to relieve the pressure on his leg. He favored her with a pained smile. They had made it.

She gritted her teeth together as he told her the story, at least he had taken care of them but still an anger rose up inside of her making her feel badly for letting him go out of her sight, also that she was not there to protect him. Although she was of no use in battle, she still felt responsible in a way and wanted nothing more then to slit the bastard's throats that had the audacity to hurt her bondmate. She inhaled a few breaths to calm herself, as they moved slowly.

The rest of the walk was made in silence as they made it to his tent. She helped him sit on the couch as he gave her a smile laden with pain. She supplied him with a soft smile, then was ready to do what ever needed to be done. "Tell me what herbs to collect. I want to help wound heal." She stated with a worry look on her face, her words coming out softly, "No more trips alone, I go with you from now on. I care about you Danny." She spoke as she placed her soft hand on his cheek giving him a soft look, "I sorry you hurt.. I wish I could do something more.. But I do what I can." The Konti gazed into the brown depths of his eyes, noting that she was serious about caring about him, and that she would do what ever she could to make him feel better. She leaned down placing a tender kiss on his other cheek, her face inches away from his as her breath hit his face, "I so sorry.." She whispered still gazing into his eyes.

OOCSorry this was so short, but I was lacking a bit. The next post will make up for it :D

Bondmate in Need (Moxie)

Postby Beodan Clathony on July 27th, 2015, 4:15 pm

“Tell me what herbs to collect. I want to help wound heal,” Moxie offered benignly. His thoughts went to what he had said in his delirium, or had it been in his head too? ‘Elentai to prevent infection, and Belltor for help with the scarring.’ He raised an eyebrow in amusement. Even with his mind addled, the horse knew his plants. He opened his mouth to tell her this information, when she continued, “No more trips alone, I go with you from now on. I care about you Danny.” He looked down, chastised, as a soft hand touched his cheek. He lightly blushed at the contact. He nodded slowly, agreeing to her terms, then smiled up at her. No longer would his walks be solitary affairs, he would have his bondmate with him!

“I sorry you hurt.. I wish I could do something more.. But I do what I can,” she crooned, even more tenderly than before, his warm chocolate gaze locked on her orbs of amethyst, slightly red around the edges as blood vessels cracked with the stress his body was under. Her face grew closer, and soft lips pressed against his other cheek. Heat spread to his head, a pinkish red blush alight on his face. He had not been kissed like that before, one so full of love. That he could feel too, thanks to the cord that connected them. Could smell her sweet breath, and he worked on committing it to memory. He brought his head forward and touched his nose to hers in a gentle caress. He pulled away, still blushing, after a few moments. “I so sorry..”

Back to healing, he was every grateful for her presence. He lost his train of thought, her eyes were so distracting, so he looked at the ceiling instead. “Uhm. Right, there should be a Belltor tincture on the second to top shelf on the left, in the violet glass jar. And in the second clay jar on the bottom there are Elentai strips. I only need half of one to chew on. Thank you, Moxie,” he instructed, looking back at her face and giving a small smile.

Bondmate in Need (Moxie)

She wish she could say the contact with Beodan did not cause anything, but the truth of the matter was it did. Her emotions mingled with his, exploding inside her as she was still not use to this feeling. It felt right, it seemed right, but it was conflicting at times too. She felt like she could gaze into the depths of his eyes for days, drowning in the essence of his soul. Then she would pull away, distance herself a little, as the feelings were new and frightened her.

She sighed as Beodan then instructed her of what to get and what to do, so she obliged him in his request. Grabbing the violet glass jar, then in the clay jar she pulled out one Elentai strip, breaking it in half for him to chew on. At least she was learning some things about herbs and their uses while she was healing him. Moxie supposed it could have been much worse, he could have been killed, thankfully this did not happen and he was with her now. But she could not help the feeling of dread that rose inside her at the thoughts of what-ifs that plagued her mind.

She carefully walked over to Beodan handing him the glass jar and Elentair strip. Then she sat beside him, as close as she could get but not wanting to invade his personal space. "I think you need bath." She said with a soft laugh, scrunching her nose up at him then patting his face. "Do you want me to bath you?" She asked this question with innocence, nothing romantic was meant by it. Moxie just wanted to help in anyway that she could, she was worried about him and just wanted to make him better.

She found herself with a bondmate, it was sudden and unexpected. Feelings and emotions had rushed inside of her out of no where, she was not sure what to make of the feelings. They felt romantic in nature, like she should kiss him and make love to him, then they were possessive and fierce, making her feel like killing anyone that would harm him. She was not sure what to make of these new feelings, but she knew that desire and love resided in her heart, though she kept distancing herself from it, afraid to feel it to it's full extent, the past flashing before her eyes and making her wonder if that is how it goes between a man and woman. She remembered the pain that erupted inside her, a white blinding pain that made her feel on the verge of passing out, then the feeling of another body invading your own taking something precious that you hold dear to you, tearing it away from your body and disposing of it as if it is worthless. This then made you feel violated, worthless, cold, and empty all at the same time. She chewed on her bottom lip as her mind wondered, the multiple emotions raging inside her as her thoughts carried her to the past.
