"Rak, come back," a young Aevian screamed playfully, his short, light brown hair bouncing wildly as he ran up the deck of his pod's ship, the Flying Lantern. He wore nothing but a pair of white cotton shorts, strings of shells and beads wrapped around his waist. Every step of the twelve year old's feet caused a small twinkle to break the usual sounds of sea. The ship was anchored in the middle of the Suvan Sea, the three ships set up in a triangle. The pod of orcas that usually swam with the Svefra were playing with a few other children and adults in the middle of the triangle, their laughs even louder in the open air.

As Aevian ran along starboard until he had stop at the bow, as there was no more boat. He grinned at his young little friend, Raktai the bull shark, before skipping back along port as the shark moved under the boat and into the triangle, a few orcas bumping heads with him playfully. Aevan took a small step back, before jumping over the side and diving into the water. He resurfaced with a gasp, keeping his hands flat and twisting them around to turn him about. Raktai swam under the boy, bumping into his leg affectionately before swimming off, moving to the surface of the water so that his dorsal fin was easily seen.

"I'm coming for you, little sharkie!" Aevian laughed again, the sound the joyous noise of an innocent child. He started to swim after the shark, arms windmilling and legs splashing noisily and sending water everywhere. His pod members chuckled as they went about their business, securing everything for a night there.

Raktai turned back around, and came after Aevian, which brought a squeak of playful fright and a giggle from the kid. Aevian screamed, high-pitched, and swam away, making sure to kick extra water back at Rak. He looked over his shoulder and noticed the missing dorsal fin: where'd the sneaky little shark go?

SPLOOSH!

Raktai burst out of the water, straight up into the air and causing a huge splash to cause the young child to flip and spin in the water. A few seconds after the "attack", Aevian resurfaced with another giggle, splashing Raktai with water as the shark circled around him.

It had been three months since Tristan's family realized the animal morph within him was seafaring, and he was finally beginning to venture further out from his home, experimenting with how far out he could go before his hawk mother would beckon him back towards the shore. His lithe Orca form cut through the water with ease, and it had become a game to try to escape from her by diving and resurfacing only when he ran out of breath, but her sharp eyes always found him. Today, however, she was spending time with her bondmate, and his wolf father decided to let him stretch his fins. He had been absolutely full of energy, a toddling two-year-old by all appearances, though only six months old. He flipped out of the water in farewell to his father before powering out to sea, releasing a series of clicks and chirps to locate the pod of natural-born Orcas he had been playing with the last few weeks. He was answered by Mother, as the pod called her, and he jumped for joy, spraying a fine mist into the air from his blowhole and laughing at the way the light turned it rainbow. On my way! he clicked, excited to see the new people the others were chirping about. He had come to learn their voices, and was pleased to hear that they were all in good spirits, playing with a group of humans.

As he neared the pod, Mother guiding him gently, he let out an alarmed chirp at the sight of a shark and prepared to bolt. Mother and the others assured him he was in no danger, and he swam nervously to Mother's side, nuzzling up against her for comfort. He watched the humans curiously; they didn't seem to fear the shark. One of the younger ones was even...playing with it? They were different than the men at the docks; they seemed to live on the sea instead of near it. They intrigued him, and he studied them--keeping a wary eye on the shark, just in case.
