What is new (Redd, Erikal)

The Wilderness of Cyphrus is an endless sea of tall grass that rolls just like the oceans themselves. Geysers kiss the sky with their steamy breath, and mysterious craters create microworlds all their own. But above all danger lives here in the tall grass in the form of fierce wild creatures; elegant serpents that swim through the land like whales through the ocean and fierce packs of glassbeaks that hunt in packs which are only kept at bay by fires. Traverse it carefully, with a guide if possible, for those that venture alone endanger themselves in countless ways.

83rd of Fall, 515 AV,

I do not like meditation. Evalin sighed. The events of the previous night still played over and over again in her mind. Something new, something odd, something fascinating. That had been what she thought at first, but in the end it had turned out like that.

So boring. She sat on that same rock formation, legs crossed beneath her as bare and naked to the world as the first day she died. Lately so many things around her had begun to lose their interesting qualities. The world seemed so grey all of a sudden, lifeless and uninteresting as Evalin began to count up the ticks that had passed from the beginning of her unlife. How long was it now? How far had her existence come, and in that time how much had actually changed?

"Why does it continue." Opening her eyes Evalin stared down at the icy gem that lay on the rock in front of her, "It almost seems pointless."

Maybe it is. Tsenrika offered with little interest, Though it matters not.

Falling silent the Nuit glanced down at herself then. She wore her most common, and perhaps over used model. A young woman, straight black hair and red eyes that stood out against her pale skin. A slight figure, thin to the point of skeletal, but the Immortal had little need for extra curves. It was old, dull just like everything else. Absently Evalin wondered if, perhaps, it was time for a change.

Tapping one long black nail on her knee Evalin sighed once and closed her eyes. Waiting, again. That seemed to be all she ever did.

Wretched Aura: As a Wretched One Evalin possesses an unnatural aura about her that causes unease in those who get too close. It can come as a prickle of the hair on the back of the neck, a sense of 'wrongness' about her. How people experience it is different depending on their personality and how they handle the unnatural and unknown. Animals tend to become more agitated, more easily sensing how wrong Evalin is and often avoiding contact with her.

What is new (Redd, Erikal)

Postby Erikal on November 8th, 2015, 10:44 pm

It still took some time getting used to. In his mind, One-eye would always be that mysterious red wolf that had almost taken his life. He was no longer ignorant to believe she was a messenger of Caiyha. Though for a time, she had him in complete reverence of her when wolf became woman. Indeed, it seemed a blessing from Caiyha for an animal to transform itself. But after a few awkward moments of him prostrating before One-eye, they reached an understanding.

One-eye did not speak his mother-tongue, but she was well versed in speech the city merchants of Cyphrus were adept in. Thus they found common ground as he knew some words of the common-speak. He came to learn that she preferred to be called Redd, though he still often made the mistake of calling her One-eye. That she was a special species that were equally native in animal form as they were in human. Erikal had heard tales around the campfire about such a race. Among his Pavilion, they were known as Gukaji - sacred beings touched by the animal spirit.

Ever since their first meeting, he and Redd would often hunt together. Sharing the meat with their successes and lamenting failures when prey escaped. The sky above was overcast, hinting at rain that would likely not come for many days. The gray canopy was already darkening and would soon usher in nightfall. The sounds of the plains came like music to the warrior-hunter's ears. A distant caw of a raven. The insects buzzing about provided their own chorus. The heavy sigh of Zulrav brushing across the tall grasses. Erikal let out a hoot of primal joy before nudging Korvas forward through the grassy sea at a leisurely trot.

Though it wasn't such an easy thing to spot her, if Erikal concentrated long and hard, he would invariably catch a streak of red flit in and out of the undulating grass. Erikal grinned broadly. She had declined his invitation yet again to ride with he and Korvas. She claimed a preference to loping alongside. Erikal had a sneaking suspicion she was still a bit spooked by the mighty strider, though he did not voice it.

Erikal was suddenly distracted from his thoughts when Korvas halted unexpectedly, his ears raised smartly in alarm. Despite the Drykas's urges to move forward, the horse steadfastly refused to budge. He scanned the swaying horizon again, but detected nothing out of the ordinary. The track ahead veered off to shadow the shore of a pond where even taller grasses kept. Beyond that he could only vaguely make out a dip in the land where it sank into a valley of grass and boulders.

"What is it, Kor? What is the matter?" he said, willing his voice to be calm in spite of the nervous roiling in his guts. The Drykas then shifted his gaze to find Redd, hoping her superior senses could shed some insight into the current dilemma.

Redd padded alongside the man upon his horse, occasionally straying away from the pair to sniff out some odd scent. There was a point where she had caught a hold of an old scent, one that she didn’t exactly feel like chasing on just a hunch. The wolf came to a stop and lifted her head so then her single golden hue could peer up at the cloud that was crossing over head, as it blocked out the sun from above. She drew in a deep breath, just to fill her lungs with the air and scents that surrounded them all. It was simply nice to enjoy a hunt with others, it was something that she had grown used to doing alone. However, the human was persistent, especially when it came to his horse. While she didn’t have anything against horses, she was just used to them being too frightened of her because of her wolf form. Therefore, she never learned to ride and it was something that she didn’t want to admit to the male.

Suddenly, the man began to speak and an ear flickered into Erikal’s direction, her singular golden gaze soon followed this movement. It was then that she glanced over the tense form of the horse that refused to move even though its rider wanted it to. Her right ear flickered out as she moved to glance in the direction that the horse was currently stuck upon and she lifted her nose to sniff the air. Then a small breeze picked up once more and a strange scent drifted towards the wolf. Both of her ears pricked forwards and she was suddenly interested as to just what the big beast had probably seen. Due to the differences in height, Redd wasn’t likely to see what the horse had seen until she moved forwards just a few more steps. Which was exactly what she proceeded to do, until she spotted just what the horse had seen.

Her steps stopped altogether and she angled her head a little more to the right to take in the form of what appeared to be a woman, but something wasn’t right. The woman's scent wasn’t her own, it was covered in stuff that was most commonly worn by other humans, but it was strong. Her gaze continued down along the woman’s form, noting the black hair and pale complexion. While the stranger was somewhat thin, almost skeletal like, Redd brushed over that fact due to the other factor being that she wasn’t receiving enough nutrition. That it was possible that she just simply wasn’t eating enough. Surely being that she looked human, she would be able to get easier access to food. Then her gaze fell upon the black finger nails and a soft growl rose from the wolf as shivers ran down her spine. Something wasn’t right. This woman… was wrong somehow, but she just didn’t know how exactly.

That didn’t stop the wolf though, for she was always sensing wrongness all the time. Although the strongest that she had come across, was in Sahova, when the dead walked around. If Redd had been in human form, she would have barraged the woman with questions. Demanded even. Instead, she took a couple of steps back and sat back upon her haunches. The young wolf had a human companion and the woman didn’t know that she was a kelvic, at least that Redd knew. So, she could simply play the part of the man’s wolf… for now at least. No one really paid attention to a simple animal, this Redd was sure of. Especially in the company of a human, so it wouldn’t really cause too much alarm unless she was afraid of wolves. A single bark was issued from the wolf, almost as if she was letting her "owner" know that there was someone here. Just let her think that I’m nothing special for now, Redd told herself and a tongue lashed out to lick her nose.

The sound of barking made Evalin's eyes open once more, and with slow and deliberate movements she raised her head slightly to look back and just over her shoulder in the direction it had come from. Red orbs took in what she saw. Someone on a horse, and nearly hidden in the tall grass of the plains was an animal, obviously the source of the noise.

"There are more little ones in this area than I thought." Evalin said absently to herself, but she did not make any moves to acknowledge them.

It is unusual to find so many unusual creatures so far from a civilization. Tsenrika began, Which means that, perhaps...

"There is a community of some sort close by." The Immortal finished, looking passed the two new comers as her mind drifted away from them for a few ticks, "Is it possible we have missed them?"

So it would seem.

A few ticks longer Evalin sat, staring out over the plains before blinking and coming back to herself. Unfolding her legs the nuit stood, hands clasping behind her back as she looked between both strangers, though her eyes lingered on the wolf longer than the horseman. After the previous night Evalin had grown curious of something.

Think you that wolves are common in this area?

Know I not, however, it would seem odd to meet a second of their kind in such a short time.

Yes, indeed it would. Pulling upon that sleeping power within her she commanded her djed to fill her senses, unlocking the door to a world filled with colors and sensations beyond the physical realm, But have we not faced the odd more often than not in our years?

Staring with intent at the wolf Evalin began her slow search, drawing upon the magic of Auristics to cause the creature's aura to bubble up and flow up and outward in intricate patterns. To the Immortal auras looked like smoke, billowing in patterns yet at some points twisted back on themselves to form tendrils and textures. The colors were wide and varied, indicating a range of emotions which Evalin had little to no interest in weeding through. Instead she began to search, her eyes scanning up and down for something.... something that she was not quite sure was there. An indicator, a sign of this wolf being more than a wolf. What would it be though? A different color? A new pattern she had not yet noticed?

Breathing in a deep breath through her nose Evalin scented the air, but more importantly she tried to take in the scent of this creature's aura. Perhaps it was there, hidden beneath the earthen scent of wild freedom and the bitter twinge on her tongue of animal ferocity. There had to be something, anything, that would indicate an animal from a Kelvic. But what would it be? The longer she stared the more details began to spring forth, and from those more and more started to conform and confuse the Immortal's perception. A crinkle of leaves in her ear could mean a life of living in the forest, where as a cold chill on her fingertips an indicator of a cold heart. But was that right? Evalin was not sure, and the longer she stared the more unsure she became until, at last, she sighed and released the magic entirely.

There was nothing to be learned from an aura she did not understand. It was an animal, of that Evalin was certain, but were not Kelvic's simply animals as well? There was nothing she could find to indicate anything different, but still she felt suspicious.

Finally releasing her stare on the Wolf Evalin looked to the human on the horse and gazed up and down his form, infinitely less interested in this mortal. Blinking again, more to break the stare than for an actual need, Evalin resumed her sitting position, hands resting casually against her knees as she was now facing the two of them.

"It is dangerous to be this far from your home." Evalin said, talking to them directly for the first time now, "You should hurry back the way you came. Who knows what monsters lurk in this area." Then she smiled, showing her elongated canines as her lips twisted into a less than kind smirk.

What is new (Redd, Erikal)

Postby Erikal on November 12th, 2015, 7:35 am

The Drykas scanned the waving grass, but saw no signs of One-eye. After a few soothing words into Korvas's twitching ears, the beast finally set back into motion; albeit very slowly and cautiously as if expecting a glassbeak in the valley below. Redd's sudden bark drew his gaze a bit farther on where the grass thinned out and gave way to a rather strange formation of rocks. A puzzled look furrowed the horseman's brow. He had never seen that pile of rocks before and he considered himself fairly well traveled when it came to the outskirts of Endrykas. Erikal eased his horse onward until he came to flank the red wolf.

It soon became clear to Erikal what the wolf-woman had found. He squinted his eyes in the fading light. He found himself studying a pale-skinned woman with long black hair. He could tell right away something was off about her. Not because she wasn't much wider than a blade of grass. No. It was something he felt, not any visible detail. Though she looked well out of place anyway to be so near Endrykas. No, it was deeper than that. The eyes could be deceived. It was the same when he was a child and his grandfather had told him stories of spirits. Those that had gotten lost and remained in a state of limbo, outside the web. They were dead things. Things that should not be. That was the prickle of fear he now felt at the back of his neck. It must be what has Korvas so spooked, he thought.

Erikal suddenly lost control of his horse! Korvas whinnied, the whites of his eyes showing as he angled away from the mysterious woman. He managed to steady the bay stallion, though it was obvious the horse was ready to bolt at the first opportunity he got. He noticed motion out of the corner his eye. Erikal pulled free his spear from its housing on the Yvas and slid off his horse to land lightly on the barren earth. He saw the movement had only been the woman resuming her perch on the stone. Still, he felt the need to hold onto his spear and when the woman spoke again, his instincts seemed justified.

Her words were uncomfortably ominous to Drykas ears. He wondered if she had not just warned them of her own presence. His blue-gray gaze trailed down to One-eye. The Kelvic rested on her haunches, staring out at the pale woman. He wanted to whisper to her. Inquire on the nature of the woman and whether the wolf-woman knew anything about the mysterious stranger. But the Drykas did not trust the stranger and felt her eyes upon them. Her elongated canines did not allay Erikal's uneasiness.

"The Sea of Grass is dangerous place," he confirmed in a halting drawl that was the extent of his common-speech. "Watch keep safe. Not safe here for you either." Erikal put in, wondering why exactly The Watch had permitted this woman to be in such close proximity to the city. He certainly didn't wish to escort her back to the Wind-Knotted gates. "We go now. Winds keep you safe," Erikal uttered over the sudden howl of wind that gusted and blew his brown locks wildly. Erikal wanted to get away from that place as soon as possible. But he hesitated, noticing Redd had not turned away yet after the obvious intent of his words. He stepped over to the red wolf and crouched down. "What you see? You know this one? She feel sick inside. We should go," he whispered urgently, now thankful for the cover of the wind.

The warrior-hunter cast his gaze back to the pale lady and could have sworn the woman smiled knowingly at them as if she could eavesdrop upon their conversation even at that distance, even with the howling wind for cover. "We should go," he reiterated softly, grasping the wood shaft of his spear very tightly.

What is new (Redd, Erikal)

Redd felt her feelings of unsettlement solidify and she held back a threatening growl the moment that the stranger opened her eyes of blood red. The wolf was taken back to a memory of a hunt back when she had killed with a pack of wolves. As blood seeped from their kill, it pooled underneath their paws as they ate its flesh. Warning bells sounded inside her head and it was at this point that any normal animal would have turned tail and ran. Even though she stared at the pools of crimson, she refused to look away from the being that stared back at her. It was almost a battle of wills and the wolf refused to be the one to back down, especially considering that she felt relatively safe being in her animal form… For the time being at least. If the woman turned out to be an experiment from Sahova, Redd wasn’t sure that she would stay. She could still feel the paralysis poison that had seeped into her paw via a thorn from a thorny hare. What they did there… Was unnatural.

An ear flickered in the direction of Erikal as she simply watched the stranger turn her attention away from Redd and she felt a smug sense of satisfaction that she hadn’t been the first to look away. However, as the woman began to speak, a soft growl rose from the wolf, a growl that had slipped from her control. The woman had mentioned monsters and the wolf knew that there were many monsters. Some she had met, other she hadn’t. Although, she didn’t linger upon those words for very long, as her single golden eye caught sight of the woman’s elongated canines. In human form, Redd had something similar and it made the kelvic wonder. Was this woman a kelvic as well? Another shiver travelled up her spine as she thought about it for a moment. If this stranger was a kelvic and had been experimented on in Sahova, she was sure that she didn’t exactly want to find out as to what they did to her.

Erikal spoke, but this time he had knelt down beside her form, whispering to her that they should go. Redd knew that there was something wrong with the woman, but her curiousity was strong. Her ear flickered towards the woman, to listen for any incoming movements from the stranger, while her single hue looked towards the man that was currently beside her. He often spoke about how they should go, but she wanted to know more. Her knowledge wasn’t as big as she wanted it to be and she craved knowledge, it was her lifeblood of being. She wanted to understand, but often many people and things had stood in her way. She looked up and over Erikal’s shoulder at the man’s beast and noted the horse’s eyes. Their whites stood out amidst the colour of the beast's brown coat. This should have the clue that told her to run, but she didn’t want to. Why? She didn’t know. For every bone in her body was eager to run the opposite way.

Perhaps it was because of the fact that she had almost brushed paths with death on more than a couple of occasions that made her stand to edge her way around the woman. Her head was angled in a way that made looking at the stranger possible, for the moment at least. While she felt the strong urged to run, she wondered as to why the strange woman hadn’t run herself, especially considering Redd had become used to humans running away from her while she was in wolf form. Had she been in human form, she probably would have asked a great deal of questions, especially questions that asked as to what she was. However, caution told her not to. The wolf’s paces took her around the woman that sat upon the rocks until she could see nothing but the woman’s back. That is, if the woman remained where she was and didn't move. Why was Redd filled with an unwarranted fear, being that she was a predator and the strange woman didn’t seem to make much movement on her behalf at all? Not even a shiver of fear was present. Nothing made any sense.

Horses are such silly creatures. Evalin thought as she watched the animal react so violently simply to her presence, when no threatening moves were made at all, I cannot see any reason at all to keep them.

They are a sufficient mode of transport for most.

Why would one choose to ride something that might throw them off and trample them under hoof? It makes no sense.

A well trained horse is perhaps better than walking from place to place. Not all in this world have the same amount of time as my Master to spend moving from city to city.

She quietly assented, attention coming back to the present as the man began to speak. It was almost amusing to hear the half hearted concern for her safety, though she doubted it was true. It was clear this child did not know what she was, and that was good. It was too much trouble to divert questions from the curious. They always wanted to know too much about things that did not concern them. What was more interesting though was how he knelt down to whisper to the wolf, an odd act to display if it were just an ordinary beast. That caused her to indeed smile, for in that moment Evalin came to the conclusion that that creature was, most likely, a Kelvic just like the Lion the night before. Her auristics could not reveal it, and this was all merely speculation. Then perhaps it would be far more entertaining to try and pull the truth out of the creature by force.

The sudden gust of wind tossed those raven locks out and across the Immortals features, but one long finger hand was used to push those unruly locks behind one ear, letting the hair flow with the wind without actually obstructing her view. Her eyes strayed over the spear the man now held and a small spark of an idea tickled her mind as she debated toying with him for just a tick, but ultimately she decided the trouble of it all was not truly worth it. Besides if she were to shatter his weapon before his eyes it might put him into a higher state of alert. That could be troublesome, and Evalin had little desire to seem more threatening than she already did. For now at least.

"Your concern is appreciated child," Evalin said slowly. Her eyes followed the wolf as it padded around the side toward the rocks, head turning as the creature ventured behind her but she would make no move to stand or re-position herself, "however, I can assure you there is no great danger posed to me on these plains."

Evalin's head swiveled around to look at the Drykas once more, and she leaned casually on one arm, her hand pressed flat against the rock. It took just a breath of will and translucent res began to slip from the surface of that palm directly into the stones beneath her, sliding through the cracks and near solid surfaces to suffuse and disperse throughout the rock. Evalin let the res settle, still and remain hidden as it was. She doubted either of them would attack, but if her hundreds of years of existence taught her one thing it was to never enter any situation unprepared.

"Tell me child where are you from, and what brings you so far from home?" Then Evalin would turn her body slightly so that she could look over one shoulder and stare at the wolf with one eye, "And you, would you care to shed your animal form and speak with us as well? There is no need to be shy."

Evalin smiled again, this time smaller and just with the corners of her lips turning upward. The Immortal however was not very good at giving any kind of sincere expression. She just hoped it did not come off as too threatening or gruesome. The truth was she did not know if that animal was a kelvic or not, but given the situation and her own experiences Evalin felt reasonably sure that it was. A hunch, based on observation and intuition. Whether or not it was true mattered very little in the end.

What is new (Redd, Erikal)

Postby Erikal on November 13th, 2015, 12:52 am

Erikal stood, transfixed by the feminine figure with the unnerving red eyes. Her words had a lulling quality to them that battled with his instincts to stay alert. The skeletal woman was just far too casual upon her stony throne. It seemed almost staged to the Drykas, almost as if she had somehow known they would come that way. But it could not be. Surely only the Gods themselves could claim such manipulation over the world and those in it.

His gaze flickered across the wind-swept valley with a measure of trepidation in their depths. That gnawing feeling in his gut that something was indeed off about the pale lady, lingered like a pall over his consciousness. That wrongness seemed to spread to the surrounding rocks and the very land itself. But of course, again, that could not be. It was simply his imagination growing legs and running rampant. The strange woman was just what she appeared to be, nothing more, nothing less. He wondered absently if she was aware of the web that connected all things on the Sea of Grass.

Just when he was about to turn away and take his leave, he saw Redd had moved from her last spot. Had actually in fact moved closer to the stranger, wandering around the rock in which she sat. Erikal's curse was lost on a gust of wind that nearly tore the spear from his grip. Zulrav's Breath! What was One-eye doing? Why had she not heeded his warning or listened to the obvious terror within Korvas? Erikal did not understand Kelvics as well as he thought, he supposed. Though they were part animal, perhaps the human aspect could lead them astray. He did not know what memories were stored in that head of hers, but from what he had learned about her in the brief time they had known each other, it was fairly obvious many of them were not happy ones. Perhaps those dark thoughts coincided with the pale woman somehow. A seductive pull to something that was familiar, even if it was toxic to one's well being.

Erikal found himself at a crossroads. Should he stay when it was pure folly to do so? Or should he not rejoin Korvas and gallop away without sparing a glance over his shoulder. The latter idea appealed to his soul nearly on every level. But he could not - would not abandon the red wolf. If One-Eye was in mortal danger due to her curiosity, it was his responsibility to repay the debt between them. She had aided him in a dire time. He would do the same. Thus the Drykas stood up and advanced on the pale witch. Her speech traversed the wind and seemed to mingle and distort on the current.

He wanted to retort heatedly that it was no concern of hers where they went or what they did. Nor was he a child for her to mock. But he could not articulate such things properly in common. Instead he narrowed his eyes. "You are right. We are too far from Endrykas. We must leave this place," he said, purposely pitching his voice to include Redd, though not saying anything overtly to give away what she was. As if on cue the pale woman's voice rasped once again.. How had she known One-Eye was not what she appeared?!

His mind frantically wrestled with ideas to pursue. Could he launch his spear at the witch while she was distracted by Redd? He did not wish to attack her. That was actually the last thing he wanted to do. But would he not if it came to One-Eye's peril? Erikal's jaw muscles clenched. He stood there, posture neutral, but his limbs were tight, ready to spring to action at the first sign of trouble. He waited....

Redd actually hadn’t been too interested in the woman the moment that she turned her gaze away from her. In fact the moment that the stranger’s gaze left Redd, she felt more at ease, albeit only a little. The wind picked up and she felt the breeze ruffle her fur. She lifted her muzzle and allowed it to soothe her shot nerves if only for a brief moment, before the feelings returned and were reinforced by fear. The woman spoke as if she were the parents of Erikal and her tone of voice reminded her of how Miro once spoke to her. She liked to think of it as proper common, the tone that reminded her of those from Sahova. Another growl arose from the wolf as she watched the two interact. That was, until the woman turned and addressed Redd, asking her to shed her wolf form in favour of her human one.

How did she know? She asked herself as her golden hue silently glared at the stranger. Her instinct to naturally distrust anything that resembled human, snapped into place and both of her ears pressed back against her head as she growled. Something wasn’t right, the feeling of wrongness just wouldn’t go away. That was the feeling that she was going to trust. So often, she had found herself mistrusting her gut instinct, a fact that had often baffled the wolf, in favour of what her masters had said. Now, she had no master and her gut instinct was telling her that she was missing some important factor. It wasn’t something that she was going to simply shake off. Her single golden hue glanced over at Erikal, who was rightfully so, on edge. Well at least this time he can sense the danger, she thought to herself as she glanced back at the stranger.

Was the pale woman really a kelvic? It would make sense that if she was, for she could have maybe known Redd was also kelvic through that knowledge. Although who was she kidding, humans and other kelvics barely realized that she was kelvic, how could this woman possibly know? She pressed her ears back upon her head once again as she continued to growl. The young wolf didn’t want to leave just yet, for she was more or less interested in how the woman knew about Redd being a kelvic. Slowly, the wolf edged back around the stranger, keeping a safe distance from her. So then should she do anything, Redd would have just enough time to react accordingly. Just because she somehow knew that she was kelvic, didn’t mean that she was simply going to trust the stranger. Perhaps she only knew because she had knowledge that gave kelvics away? Whatever that was, Redd wanted to know.

As soon as she arrived by Erikal’s side, she felt safe enough to shift, a pale red light surrounded her form, cloaking her from the other’s eyes. However, as it began to disperse, instead of a wolf, a woman stood in its place as naked as the day she was born. The kelvic felt the wind tug playfully at her brindle red hair, but she paid no attention to it as she simply moved to sit herself down upon the grassy plains. She didn’t want to get any closer to the stranger and she had no wish to, for she still sense danger in the wrongness that emanated from her. “How did you know?” She simply asked as she crossed her legs and rested the palms of her hands upon her knees, completely forgetting about the half black sun that rested upon the back of her left hand. Redd looked up at Erikal and then back at the strange woman before asking, “Who are you?”

What is new (Redd, Erikal)

Ah, it seems I was correct. A sense of satisfaction followed that thought as the Kelvic growled, either threateningly or in annoyance. In truth it could have been either but the Immortal chose to see it as a sign of hitting a truth that did not wish to be revealed.

Matter it not what the beast is, the boy spoke of something interesting. Evalin shifted herself once more so that her eyes could follow Redd as she walked around to the front once more. Indeed, so I did. It seems that we were both correct. There is more out here than just grass and beasts.

When Redd transformed back into her human form Evalin clapped her hands together, smiling in delight to show her teeth once more as the amusement grew to see the visual proof of her speculations. This place was more interesting than she thought. Two kelvics in two days, both so different from one another but both of them female? What were the chances?

"My what fun this day is turning out to be." Evalin laughed, rocking forward to sit now on her knees, hands pushing back the stray locks of hair that tried to block her vision once more, "It is curious how things come to be. Wills and existences passing each other by choice, whether intentional or not. It breaks away some of the monotony of this dull world."

A single black nail traced beneath one red eye as Evalin looked between the two, a human and a Kelvic traveling together for some unknown reason. Or, perhaps, the man was also something different? The thought made Evalin pause and stare at him for a tick or two, tilting her head to examine him up and down before shrugging and dismissing him once more.

Shaking her head the Immortal finally focused once more, both hands resting in her lap once more as she glanced to her side at the necklace laying on the rock and then back at the two. First her eyes rested on the Kelvic, and her smile which had faded slightly grew once more.

"Dear child, it is simple." She said, raising a finger and tapping her temple with a look of amusement, "I guessed." A chuckle and an absent wave followed to dismiss the subject, "But never mind that. Who I am is of no concern. Tell me, what is Endrykas?"
