The Diamond of Kalea is located on Kalea's extreme west coast and called as such because its completely made of a crystalline substance called Skyglass. Home of the Alvina of the Stars, cultural mecca of knowledge seekers, and rife with Ethaefal, this remote city shimmers with its own unique light.

Ugh Snow [Sebastian]

63rd Day of Winter
Sometime Around the 15th Bell

Na'oni frowned at the sky, which was currently spitting white flakes at the city, and then at the cold, white powder on the ground. She was still refusing to buy proper shoes, though since the snow fell she was wearing her sandals all the time. She had also refused to buy any proper clothes but the cloak was surprisingly warm against the biting wind so she didn't suffer much on that end. Na'oni clearly despised this "snow" and as she walked, she kicked at the small gatherings of it on the ground. She missed the jungle and the constant tree cover, the wet warmth and the smell of life. All this place smelled of was cold, and it stung her nose and made it harder to smell things.

However, she did appreciate the worship of Syna and Leth and she found herself quickly adapting to the schedule and celebrating with the locals. The strange nervousness that had taken hold of her since the Djed storm had been shrugged off in these celebrations, coaxed free with slight amounts of alcohol. Maybe she would develop a taste for it but for now they were just to help her relax.

She was wandering across the center peak of the mountain city, cloak clasped together and head down. Her hair was kept lose to keep her head and neck warm and it shone deep, dark red in the light. Na'oni didn't have a clue where she was going, though a tavern was on the back of her mind. She had kept to her magic studies for the most part while she was here and though she was learning a lot, she grew bored of it all and she often paced the mountaintop like a caged animal. There was no traveling until the end of the Winter and to her, it couldn't come quick enough. She planned on leaving for Wind Reach in the Spring, the supposed center of the Djed storm. She still was cautious, unsure if it was fact or fiction that the savage's gods had caused it even if that's what they all said. The hard-headed Myrian refused to believe until she saw proof and this was probably another case of her stubbornness leading to her inevitable downfall.

But for now the Myrian kicked at snow, much to the unhappiness of anyone near her, and most stayed away from kicking range. Maybe she should have been paying attention to where she was kicking though because a yell of, "Hey! What the petch?!" startled her out of her reverie and she looked up at a well built, scruffy man glaring down at her. "Watch where you go Deyhan!" She snapped back, spitting her broken Common at him as she bared her sharp teeth.

Ugh Snow [Sebastian]

Sighing he lifted the bent metal that was supposed to be a shoulder plate. It wasn't where it needed to be and didn't look as though it should. Infuriated he tossed the metal piece down with a hard ting. A hand rand through his hair and a swipe across his forehead with his arm. A heavy sigh escaped his lips again as he slipped the heavy apron over his head and moved to hang it up on the hook in the back. He needed a break, to walk away, to come back and try again later.

Grabbing a hand full of water out of the barrel he splashed his face, scrubbing at the greases and grim that had built up from the day. Grabbing his coat he slipped it on and moved to the door, more than ready to take his leave. He needed a drink.

Shoving his hands into his pockets he braced himself for the whipping wind as he pushed against the door and made his way outside. Snow piled all around the building, drifting in spot and bare in others. Shrugging his shoulders up he tried to bring himself tighter together to keep the brisk breeze from slipping down the collar of his jacket. He was getting pretty darn tired of the winter.

The walk to the Obsidian wasn't much further and then he could warm himself from the inside out. Hopefully he didn't end up in a bank of snow on the way home afterward. About half way he glanced up, his eye squinting against the blowing snow to see a dark haired woman kicking the piles of white about. She seemed as frustrated as he felt about the season and wondered if that was her reasoning.

As he watched he noticed a fellow yell at her and she snapped back. A soft chuckle came from his throat as he appreciated the fire in her spirit. She had the dark looks of a Myrian and figured that was the reasoning for the ire. He'd known them to be a rather feisty lot. A nice burn mark from a joint on his side reminded him of the last run in he'd had with one. This gave him pause to grin.

The tussle between the two he was watching began to become rather heated and his pace slowed, watching. A frown formed on his lips. He wasn't a hero by any means if anything he was quite the opposite. However the manners his father had beaten into reared their head and had him moving his feet toward the man.

"Hey buddy, chill out. She was just having a bit of fun in the snow, no need to get heated." He glanced over to the woman to see if she was going to be the one to punch him or the man opposite him. Why did he just put himself in the middle. He kicked himself mentally.

"What's it to you?" The man glared over at him now.

"Well...," he scrounged through his mind try to come up with something, "uh... this is my wife, I was coming to meet her. I think he was a little mad for me having been so late. I'm sure it was just an accident. I'm sorry about that. I'll make sure to take care of it. Deal?" He held a hand out toward the man, hoping that the lie that just spilled from his mouth wasn't going to piss the woman off and would get the other guy to back off.

Holding his breathe he waited to see how things worked out.

Ugh Snow [Sebastian]

Postby Na'oni on February 14th, 2016, 10:36 pm

"Learn to speak Common, savage!" The man snapped right back at her and she drew back her top lip spit a hiss at him. Her fingers quickly worked the clasps on the brightly colored feather cloak as she yelled back, dropping the Common and speaking in quick, guttural Myrian. "You barbarian men, you think you have permission to speak back, to yell at me?! Someone needs to teach you a lesson! As soon as it were possible, she dropped it her cloak but regret snaked through her as the wind bit her skin and tried to drag her swath of cloth away from her body. She gritted her teeth as her body shivered, ready to launch herself at him.

Just as she coiled her muscles, another man walked up to the two of them and started talking to the other man. Typical! A dressing the man instead of the woman. She rolled her eyes, growling audibly the entire time they talked, though her body relaxed. She had nothing to say however, she could simply slip away if she wanted to just then. But she did not, instead watching the interaction.

While Na'oni may not have understood every word, she was able to piece the bits of words together in her head. As she listened, she plucked her cloak from the ground, giving it a good shake and causing any loose feathers to flutter to the ground. Wife was one of the words she caught, right after she had finished clasping her cloak; she didn't realise what it meant at first and it took a moment of processing for her growl to abruptly stop and her glare turned to the new man. How dare he call us his wife?! She raged inwardly, though a softer voice protested. He's just trying to help..Well we don't need any help! She snapped back at herself.

When the man extended his hand, her hand shot out to grab at his before he could shake hands, sharp nails sinking in if they made contact. "Yes! You, husband. Come!" She said quickly, turning around to attempt to drag her "husband" out of sight of the other man. Though her strength would be surprising compared to her size, the man was larger than her and tugging back or staying in place shouldn't be too hard if he so desired.
