Sleep is for the dead apparently.

So she was at the fighters pit often and she was very sure of her speed apparently. Doubting if there were many who were as fast as she was. Thinking back to the knights he’d trained with. They were fast, blindingly so but then again they were the pinnacle of masters of their crafts. He didn’t miss the broad smile grinning across her face. She wore her mood on her sleeve and Alex could see that clearly. Perhaps that was something he admired that she could wear them so boldly. He had to fight to hold back anger and pain every day, masking them as best he could perhaps it was his lack of a will to show his fury and passion that made others so distant from him. “It’s quite possible that there are some who could be even greater than your speed miss suresslynn.” He smiled lightly and drained the last of his cup. His follow on with his response to her giving him advice about hiding his feelings.

“Would that I haven’t in fact tried that. It’s hard to stay calm and keep your face free of anything that might give away what you’re feeling. I try and keep quiet and small, unnoticeable despite my height. It’s often easier to hide as someone with no strong emotions than it is to stand out.” He smiled lightly His simplistic approach to things something that he enjoyed but a complication of matters was showing too much of his personality to anyone. Raising his fingers to his neck again he gripped the black triangle and offered a small prayer to Akajia. Who better to help him keep his secrets to himself and hide away? A small creeping smile, which as she spoke about her less than grandiose grasps of the complexities of common he couldn’t help but let out a small chuckle.

“To frequent a place means to visit somewhere, so if I say I frequent somewhere often it means I go there a lot. You are right though frequently means to go there not often. Subtle hints in the language miss lynn. If common is not your first language I can see where you’d find the confusion." He smiled lightly and gave her a small nod. "It’s almost nine in the morning now. Almost time the shops start to open. Most of my superiors will be strapping their armour on by this point. It was a lovely chat with you and I will be by some point later in the season to take you up on that offer of herbalism tutoring.” He groaned and would escort her wherever she needed to go, as after he’d have to head back to the castle to receive his daily thrashing and teachings.

Lynn laughed slightly as Alex said that he thought there were many who could match or even surpass her speed, then shot out her arm to rap on his armor. "None human. And definitely not wearing that heavy armor. Even in this form, viper Dhani are one of the fastest things around. And this is our slowest form." she said, grinning at him. "And yeah, I suppose it can be hard to keep your face from showing your emotions. Though I don't know that suppressing them is good for you. Seems like they'd get bottled up and explode after a while."

At the explanation of the phrase she had used, she nodded gratefully, then gave a wide grin at his comment about common not being her first language. "Oh, it's definitely not my first language. Didn't even start learning until I was one hundred years old." she said with a laugh. At the mention of the time, she sighed and took another drink, standing up as she did. "Yeah, I probably better get to work. Um...I didn't finish this, what do I do with it?" she asked, holding up her ale.

[As her arm tapped his armour his eyes widened a little. Taking a keen note that if she was thich quick in her slowest form he’d have his work cut out for him in dealing with anyone of this race if he ever got forced into it through knightly service. Though she was also right on keeping things contained. Build a bottle big enough and hold them in. Take all that rage pain anger and sorrow and aim it towards those who deserved it. A small grin crept across his face. “And that miss lynn is why I try to hide everything. For the right time to open the floodgates on someone deserving of the wrath of someone.” A small moment passed between them as he looked into her eyes and for the first time she’d see that behind the veneer of a quiet timid and somewhat constrained squire lie a seething cauldron of hatred, anger, pain, sorrow and remorse. He was not a wrathful man. But something had to hide it. some people deserved all of his baser emotions.

He simply smiled breaking his eyes away from hers to adjust a small cotton slip at the side of his armor. As she continued with her conversation regarding her not learning common. He half heard it as he looked at her holding the ale still half finished. “Well if you wouldn’t mind me doing do I could-” he stopped mid-sentence. She was what? It took a few seconds for his brain to parse what he’d just heard someone who looked as young as her was over a hundred years old? Words for a brief moment as well as his ability to mask his face seemed to escape him. A look of confusion and astonishment now adorned his features. Taking the cup lightly from her hands and without even a ticks more consideration drained the remainder of her cup. “Well…If you really are over a hundred years of age then I must say you’re looking absolutely lovely for it.” A genuine reaction and honestly all his brain could parse to say. “I mean, how…Wait is this something to do with you race? Long lived right like the big technicolour rainbow men?” He knew that akalaks were larger long lived males but it surprised him that someone so demure and small could be quite that ancient.

“Forgive me for prying.” He offered a fairly weak apology for extrapolating on the issue. “Please I’ll escort you to work and try and parse this comment.” Looping a finger through both cups he placed them on the bar counter before nodding to the keep and turning back to lynn.

When Alex explained why he bottled up his emotions, Lynn just nodded understanding. She could see the reasoning behind that. And then he seemed to have a bit of a mental break at her age. As he tried to process that, she just tried to keep from laughing at him. It was always funny when people learned how old she was, since she looked like she was a young human.

At his compliment on her appearance she nodded thanks, then gave him a strange look his comment about rainbow colored men. "Rainbow colored men?" she said in confusion before a none to fondly remembered face jumped to her memory. "Oh, like Ser Eyris or Iros or whatever the shyke his name was..." she said, before grinning. "And yeah, it's a thing with Dhani. We usually live three hundred to three hundred and fifty years." she said, smiling at him as she followed him up to the counter.

"No, it's all right. You weren't prying." she said as they left the tavern. They weren't that far from the salves, so it didn't take them long to get there. "Thanks for the escort, Alex. Feel free to stop by if you want a lesson." she said as she stepped into the shop. "Good morning, Lynn. Did you sleep well?" Madame Sahfri asked as soon as she saw the Dhani. "Terribly, actually. Not used to sleeping indoors again. Met someone interesting though." she said as she sat down to work.
