Hey guys!

So I'm technically not new since I've been to Mizahar before, years ago, but only for a very short time as my friend who I joined with decided to RP elsewhere. I don't even remember the name of my old character, and I've forgotten most of the lore I learned!

But nonetheless, I am here again and intend to stay. I'm toying with ideas for a character who is a thief; Making a living in the only way they know how, whilst wrestling with personal issues and looking for new direction in life.

Mizahar is so rich in lore that I feel a lot like I need to read everything before I can confidently make a character and start playing. There's a lot to go through, but it's all extremely well written and imaginitive!

So I guess I should ask a question or two to get the ball rolling! What's the best place for a novice thief to start out? And how are issues of gender identity perceived across the many cultures of Mizahar?

Welcome back to Mizahar!

I returned to Mizahar only a couple of weeks ago myself. There’s no other forum that comes close to what this one has to offer.

As for what the best place for a new thief to start out is, Sunberth might be a good choice. Alvadas also comes to my mind or maybe cities where there a lot of rich people and thus a lot of things that could potentially be stolen. I don’t think a thief would be very happy in Syliras with all those knights on the other hand.

As for how issues of gender identity are perceived, that’s a really hard question to answer. The cultural component probably plays a role, but it also varies from person to person. I don’t think there is a single culture where people that deviate from the norm are universally discriminated against or where everybody accepts everybody else.

Apart from Nuit. After a few centuries they don't seem to care about what sex the body they occupy is anymore, and concepts such as gender don't seem to matter to them (they tend to focus on other things).

I’m sure somebody will correct me if I’m wrong.

Please let me know if there is anything else I can help you with.

Welcome to Mizahar! I have a whole long drawn out post that usually accompanies my welcome posts, however... That can wait, here have some movie nostolgia for starters:

There now that that is done! Let's see what we can do for Mizahar for you? New eh?

Well I highly recommend reading the following - Starred stuff are things you better read else won't get any help. :

After becoming acquainted with the lore intimately, do not fear! There are hundreds of Helping Hands (Totally intended there) to assist you on your way to the Eternal Bog of Mizahar - You can find them in the Chat, green people are chat moderators and they are highly knowledgable and are super friendly, if they are not available for whatever reason, ask around several of the players there are vets and know a fair deal of the lore. If they do not know something, they will redirect you to someone else or try to locate the answer for you. if at anytime you see a red name in Chat they are Founders, turn to them if they are actively around and they can help you as well!

Storytellers of the varies cities that are open sometimes frequent chat in a variety of guises, if in doubt ask who runs what city private message them on the site (use the little envelope to the left underneath their name). Remember they are the founts of knowledge for a specific city, so they are helpful for that place utterly and completely. Use them!

Thank you for joining and if you need help, always ask! You can reach me by the private message icon to the left if I am not on chat.

Which way do you want to go? Up or Down?

Attention Players, Graders, and Storytellers:

A character sheet does not require the green checkmark for the player to roleplay. This is just a notification to all that the character sheet has passed through the Liaisons thorough checklist and meets Mizahar standards.

All sheets with a large red X or a speech bubble beside their thread title do not recieve grades and cannot continue threads they are currently involved in until all issues have been fixed and verified.

She said down...

Oh boy, choosing items to buy with my starting money is really hard! I have no idea how useful certain items will be! I also don't know how much money I should keep saved up in case my earnings are too low!

How much money can thievery rake in? Is it treated like any other profession where you get a "wage" or will every "job" have to be roleplayed out?

According to the Price List you make 1-4 gm as a novice thief. If you have a competent skill level, your income increases by 50%.

To find out how much exactly you make, you should PM your local Storyteller. In the case of Sunberth that would be Royal.

And yes, your job will have to be roleplayed out. You need 2 job threads per season.
