His eyes caught her frowning as he spoke. A weight dropped into his stomach as it felt like he stepped into a trap and did not mean to. Did he say too much? Did he share things he should have kept to himself? So many doubts filled his head as he saw that frown on her face but she did ask him questions about it so he would just shake that feeling of doubt and move forward.
Yet it was not an easy question. He could have told her the horrors and items that he had made in the past. Things that ranged from items giving magical powers to an item that could give you the power of a god but it did not matter on that. No, he would have to share the details slowly with her so he would not scare her away.
“One of the items I made was a simple charm from a snake. It grants a form of antivenom to help you if you are poisoned by other snakes. Rather useful item as while the magic sounds like something from a horror story you can do a lot with it.”
He said as he thought back to his snake charm. Granted he did not tell her that it could reject you and had other drawbacks if that was the case or for it to even work it would bite and cling on to you and would be something that would either stay or if you removed it you may die but she did not need to know details like that. He had made it when he was still coming up with ideas as he was sure he could rework the item or something like it to be better now.
“If you ever wanted to learn it I could help you. It’s not that hard I promise since even I can learn it.” He said as he smiled at her trying to assure her she was more than good enough to learn the trade if she really wanted to.
As they walked they came to what looked like a large market place. He was not sure how she moved about the people and the sounds yet he was even more out of place when she moved to the side and wanted him to do the same as someone was walking about. While his clothing seemed to stand out what more was the horns on his head. Vick was trying to recall the race but he only saw a few of them in Sahova as they were rarer compared to other races he saw.
In the end, he knew they were test subjects if wizards had their way but otherwise they could learn in Sahova. Vick’s eyes did not change as he looked upon him as he formed questions in his head as he did his best to recall anytime he had any real encounter with them but he could not understand why the others around him gave him more room as he walked. Was he a danger to them? Was it something he was missing?
He just looked back at her as he tilted his head in a slight confusion as he was not sure and did not even feel the need to give the person any room but he stood by her as she did. It was clear he would not treat them any different compared to a human as he was raised in a way not to even think about something as silly as that in his mind.
“Is he a danger or is it something else I am missing about him?”
He asked as last to her clearly not showing the same emotion as the others around them. Yes, his form stood out but he would not bow or give them space besides the normal amount of space he wanted to keep with others to make sure they did not touch him.
