Getting Back Up

15th of Winter, 516

Irathia awoke, her bones creaking and popping as she dressed herself, today was the day she will start her training once more in full gear. She felt comfortable enough once again to wield her hammer and work towards knighthood. She looked around, smacking her lips as she grabbed her hammer and began wearing the borrowed armor. It was heavy, like usual. After everything happened sense she had arrived in Syliras, she appreciated the ragged and old gear a lot more. She picked up her trusty hammer, she patted it and placed it next to her before wrapping her cloak around her like usual.

She rubbed her head, it has been a while sense she last was fully dressed in her armor for training. Sure she would wear it from time to time so she could adjust the armor to fit her correctly, also it was just generally good for her well being to make sure she didn't go out of shape by not doing some form of physical activity. She stretched out her shoulders and legs in the armor before she made her way out of the barracks and towards the training grounds.

She arrived at the training grounds, she was early, finding that she was by herself without Sera Ravonai. Taking her chance Irathia studied her weaponry, making sure they didn't need any repairs right away. Of course her mother's hammer was worn, but, she was used to seeing that at this point in her life. Her other hammer was fine, maybe a bit battle-worn but nothing major was different from the weapon when she first got it.

Getting Back Up

Irathia found herself staring at some training dummies. They seemed worn and well used, much like her mother's hammer. Her eyes slid towards her hammers, they were hanging idly by her side, her hands naturally gripped the handles tighter, making the hammers more secure in her hands. She stared at her gauntlets, made for her by her friend Terag... She found herself staring at the dummies once more as she approached the lifeless figure.

Irathia spread her legs apart, getting into a stance for her two hammers. She bounced slowly on her feet as she stared and studied the doll, she felt her body and mind getting back into frame for combat. Surprisingly, Irathia felt no anger with herself or at anyone, just excitement. She pushed forward, bringing both hammers up into a up cut attack that slammed against the dummy's chest and slid forward to hit where the chin would have been located on a actual person. Irathia stepped back and took some breaths, a bit satisfied with what she just did. Irathia took another swing, this time spreading her hammers apart and bringing them together as if she were to clap, the hammers hit the dummy's 'shoulders' and the hammers spun and hit the thing's head. Irathia pulled back from the attack and nodded to herself as she brought her legs together, assuming her regular stance.

She rolled her neck when she heard someone clear their throat behind her, Irathia jumped and brought her hammers up. She looked at the person that cleared their throat to see Sera Ravonai, Irathia had no clue how long the knight was standing there, staring at Irathia as she messed around with her hammers. Irathia stood straight and as tall as she could. "You seem eager to start again..." Sera Ravonai said, rubbing her chin as she studied the squire. She seemed to have come to a conclusion as she nodded and crossed her arms. "Say, Irathia, while you were off to calm down a bit did you actually do any combat training?"

Irathia stood there and thought, she mainly just did stuff that she thought was relaxing, was taught a bit of meditating, and other things such as that. But now that she thought about it, no, she did not do any combat training at all other with another person, she could remember once or twice she came to the training grounds to beat on dummies or just to practice movements. "No, I don't think I did, I am sorry Sera Ravonai..." Irathia frowned, she shifted her feet slightly.

Getting Back Up

Sera Ophelia snapped her fingers. "Ah, might I think we should spar! To make sure you didn't get too rusty!" Sera Ophelia shouted, pointing at Irathia as she went to grab a training broadsword. "I hope you are ready Irathia, I don't think I will try to hold myself back." The knight smiled as she tapped the ground with the sword, leaving small little indents into the sand as she began walking slowly, awaiting Irathia's response. It seemed like she was eager to start teaching Irathia once again as much as Irathia was eager to learn... Sera Ophelia seemed to have a slight smirk to her as well.

Irathia looked down at her hammers... She swallowed, even though she wanted to learn, she still had so much worries... She felt her jaw clench as the ideas flew into her mind, but she just shook her head... She was going to stop getting so angry all the time, anger is not the only thing to her. Irathia smiled slightly as she looked up at Sera Ophelia, still pacing back and forth. Irathia held her hammers out as her legs spread, her body slowly locking into her battle stance. "Let's go." Irathia said.

Sera Ravonai went into her stance, they began pacing, Irathia trying to find a way to attack... Irathia was caught off guard when her teacher charged forward and swung her sword at one of Irathia's arms. Irathia barely managed to dodge, though the sword did hit Irathia's hammer. Causing Irathia to get off balance. She tried to get her footing back before another attack came at Irathia's stomach. Irathia managed to swinging her armored arms in front of the blade as the training item slammed into her gauntlets, causing the metal to bend slightly from the pressure. The force caused Irathia to fall on her back, her head hitting the sand causing her to see white.
