14th of Winter, 516

In the waves of early winter, a bit off from the shoreline, where the waves start to fold over, a young woman begins to form, her body started out as small, but began to form more and more, it filled out all of her features. Her horns wrapped around her skull like a crown, as her hair grew out. The body, seemingly lifeless, floated in the water, as the mouth and eyes began to move slowly. A breath, a heart beat. The woman gasped and gagged as water flooded into her mouth. Her arms and legs creaked as they suddenly began to move, as she struggled to keep her head above the water.

The sun was bright in her eyes, she winced as the smell of salt and ozone filled her nostrils. She looked around rapidly, for any semblance of land, from where she was, she could see a beach. She began moving her arms and legs, in a fashion of swimming, though she did struggle. The water was heavy around her body the air around her head was cold and moist, everything was so alien to her. She felt her body shiver in the cold waters as she struggled to the coast.

At one point, the ocean started to pick her up and throw her forward towards the sands, and then pull her back slowly. Again, she was pushed and pulled as she continued to swim and keep her head above the water. She felt the wind pick up as a particularly large wave came and picked her up, through the salty water she felt her eyes burn, she saw things swirling around in the water, and then sand. Her body slammed into the sand, she inhaled a mouthful of water at this stinging sensation that came across her body that hit the sand. The water pulled back as she laid on the shore. She let the water rush up and hit her again, though she was glad she wasn't pulled back in.

The woman got on her hands and knees as she crawled onto drier sands. She stared up at the sun, her name echoed in her mind but when she tried to speak it she only whimpered. She stared at her body, she wiggled her toes into the sun warmed sand. She smelled something, it wasnt salt... She liked it as she tried to form words she could understand... Something formed in her head, words. She continued to study her body as words formed in her mind, as she continued to smell the ocean.

The morning started easily and with a regular day. Alex rolled out of bed with a soft weariness to him. He’d been sleeping a touch more than usual lately possibly now that he had a bed which didn’t feel like it was made out of rocks. Flittering his eyes open he thought back on the results of the prior day, and the strange results of the whirling maelstrom. Shaking his head he threw on his clothes and only the barest essentials of weapons. Taking just his bastard swords and a dagger with him, atop of his armour and harness he threw on his jacket. Shaking his head he headed out into the streets of Alvadas. The maze like mysticism of the city starting to mount upon him over the course of the last couple of days. He needed to head out of the city for a little while.

Stepping past the sanity centre and the gaping maw he found his way out and down to the patchwork port. The sight a very familiar one to him as he felt the blast of the sea air against him and was brought back to his time in Zeltiva, the soft waves lulling at the seafront. With a soft sigh he stepped over to the railings of the piers the thick wood something to brace himself against as he closed his eyes and just listened to the sound of the waves crashing into the shore.

However this sound didn’t last long as the sound of thrashing and crashing against the waves filled his ears after just a few moments. His eyes snapped open as he surveyed the scene around him. And as his eyes glanced down towards the shoreline he saw a figure laid out against the sand. Not moving. He took a look over the edge and made a camlculated estimate of how high it was about ten feet.

Ah, Screw it.

He placed his hand against the railings and with a single motion he pushed himself up and over the edge and then leapt down onto the sand below. The soft loose sand giving way beneath his feet as he landed. His coat billowing in the wind and his legs now burning from the point of impact. That was going to suck tomorrow, but for now was this figure alive or dead? That was the question. One which was quickly answered as they clambered further onto the shore and rolled against the sand.

Now within a couple of feet of the figure as it rolled over he could see it was a she, who now just stared wide-eyed and skywards. At least they were a live but what on Miz were they? He’d never seen anything of the like. He walked over slowly his boots crushing foot prints into the slightly moister sand as he stepped closer leaving a trail behind him.

He crouched down next to the figure looking at the spools and spools of hair that ran behind her. With a slightly concerned look and a soft tone that spoke of comfort and an offer of help he let the words flow freely. “Are you alright there, or do you need help?” As he spoke he could now see they were completely bereft of clothing and whilst turning his head away he unbuckled his jacket tossing it over them like a large blanket to cover them. It was only then he spotted the horns poking out from the hair like the spires of a crown.

Lost and Fallen (Alexander Faircroft)

The woman didn't seem to notice the man approaching her, though now she was feeling all over her body. Everything felt weird, her skin was soft and smooth, a bit cold and wet as well. She began to feel all over her face feeling her features. Everything was so... wonderful! Everything was so new! She couldn't wait to start seeing everything her eyes can see. The woman then felt something sort of odd, a large, heavy, thing. fell on her as something started making noises. Noises she could understand! This was kind of exciting for her. She remembered what this thing was that was on top of her, it was clothing... A jacket? It smelled used and old... It covered most of her body as well. She was curious why this thing was on her. She thought for a small moment, and then remembered that normal people wear clothes, and that she was naked.

She just had a toothy grin as she sat up and stared at the man in front of her. "Hello!" She suddenly covered her mouth in surprise. She didn't realize she could make the same noises that the other person can. "Ahhhh." She opened her mouth and made the noise, her hands still covering most of her mouth before she closed it again. She found herself grinning, as the words in her head began to form a string of more words. "Yeah... I am fine, at least I think I am."

The woman looked around a bit, "Where am I? Who are you? What are those things you have on you?" She smiled, the questions just falling out of her mouth. She smiled, all these words were just forming in her mind and came out of her mouth! It was so surprising. She took some breaths to calm herself down, the man must have thought that she was going mad. "Sorry, sorry. I... Um... What is this place? I dont recognize it... Or anything really." She said, she held on to his jacket a bit tighter as she realized that she had no clue where or who she was. She felt some fear grip her, though it wasn't much compared to the sheer amount of excitement she felt swirling within her.

"This place, it seems so wonderful." She whispered to herself as she looked around more, the sound of the ocean and the smell filled her mind as one of her hands touched the fine sands. Her fingers dug into the fine rocks, it was silky to the touch... With the other hand she raised it up to push some hair that went in front of her eyes, she felt something weird, it was smooth, and it felt like it wrapped around her head. "Also, whats this on my head." She said, touching the horns that can be seen.

The oddity of the situation was not lost on him. He’d just seen a rather unmoving figure on the beach and decided to help them and now they were smiling? As she rolled up to sit opposite him the jacket rolled down. It didn’t seem to affect her rather strangely chipper demeanour. Keeping his gaze locked with hers was a challenge but one made significantly harder by the sheer shimmering majesty that was he skin. The shining mix of fiery tones drew his attention more than it probably should have.

The word hello snapped him from his slightly stark stupor and only then did he catch himself staring at her exposes stomach and watching the patterns of the light refracting off of it. Her continued words let him know that firstly she was alright and secondly she had a rather lovely voice to listen too. Shaking his head and now looking northwards of her head he spotted the peaks of something poking through the top of her hair. Something green. Assuming it to be simply seaweed he passed it off opting to at least try and hold his gaze level with her own eyes. The Molten yellow there drawing his attention.

The tirade of questions that flew at him was astonishing and almost too quick for him to attempt to keep up with. Though when she started to slow by taking a few deep breaths he tilted his head sideways. When her words, finally came tumbling back out he got the question she wanted to know first. “Well In order of the questions you asked.” He paused a moment taking a deep breath. “Firstly you’re in Alvadas the city of Illusions, secondly my name is Alex. And these-” He patted the blades at his side and the ones at his chest. “Are weapons.”

Her hand then lifted brushing the hair out of her face and revealing easily what he’d thought was seaweed was in fact a horn. Extending from the temple on the left side of her head. The almost crystalized essence of a forest contained within drew his eyes too it like a moth to a flame. Shaking his head he managed to refocus slightly. “Those are horns.” He spoke with a calm word making sure to keep as even a face as he could.
“Also would you mind putting the jacket on? It’s kind of hard to focus…” he spoke with a strained word. Trying his level headed best to not look downwards.

"Horns? I have horns?" She said as she ran a hand along the length of the smooth almost stone feeling horn. It had a slight curve to it that ended with the tips pointing straight down her neck. She found the other horn and it had the exact same shape... She was fascinated with them, though her attention was quickly drawn to the man that threw the jacket on her. He looked interesting, tall mainly, and his eyes were nice to look at. Though she noticed that he seemingly having issues looking back at her for a while, where are one point there eye's locked... Or was he staring at her horns? She couldn't really tell all that well as his eyes seemed to have traveled all over.

"Why would I need to put on the jacket?" She said, she folded her legs under her, so she was sitting higher as her legs were being used as a pseudo seat. She put her hands in her lap, lacing her fingers together as her eyes slid towards the jacket on the sand. "I suppose I am a bit..." She tried to think of the word that would fit how she was feeling. Her skin was cool due to the fact she was in the ocean, some late drops of sea water still ran down her smooth skin, though she felt as if it wasn't dire or anything. "Cool? Is that the right word?" She mumbled the last part to herself, "Yeah! Cool... I feel cool." She said, her mind began to process the other information given to her.

"What do you mean by illusion?" She said, she hasn't heard of any sort of city of illusions. What were things like there? Could people manipulate other people? Perhaps change even how they look? She found herself getting more and more excited as the thoughts shot through her head, though she didn't want to barrage the man with questions once again. Just the name itself seemed mysterious and it excited her to no end as she thought about what the city could contain.

"Alex? It's Alex. Right." She was talking to herself, she looked down at the ground. "Can you take me to this city? It sounds amazing!" She said, looking back up at the man. She was clearly very excited, as she had a wide toothy grin, revealing perfect white teeth. "Please?" She seemed, she brought her hands up to her chest, keeping her fingers laced together, making it look like she was begging.

Lost and Fallen (Alexander Faircroft)

14th Day of Winter, 516 AV.

Patchwork. A word that described the port and the state of Raylan's memories regarding Alvadas. Some were good, some bad, others were so altered by excess libations that caused truth to forever escape him. However, among those thing he knew one thing. And that was that every one of his memories about the sea were enjoyable ones. That was why Raylan ventured out past the Gaping Maw to pitch his tent up on the sands of the Patchwork Port. There was something about the Suvan Sea that enveloped his heart like a warm blanket. He cherished it, yet grew anxious when near it, and he couldn't stop coming back to it.

He walked in slow circles around his tent, causing his footprints to form a circled perimeter in the sand. His fingers traced over the thin strings that ran down the neck of the mandolin in his hands, each string rough against the pads of his fingertips, plucking at them to give them the energy to produce sound. The sounds were roughly simplistic, the melody almost a soothing lullaby that was deep in tone. His mind trying to figure out the strings he needed to pluck next. At the moment he was playing by heart, using his mood to try and make his own song.

Quick, careless steps lead him away from his tent, leaving the circle he made as his bear feet sank into the wet sand on the shore. He only wore a open long black coat that left him bare chested and a pair of coffee-colored pants. He continued to walk for several chimes, holding two fingers down to strum them at the same time. He played a single chord, ten kept his fingers on the same strings while sliding them down the neck to change the sound. He kept moving them up and down until he found a cord he found pleasant to add it to the melody he had been playing before.

He only stopped his playing once he noticed someone in the distance. The girl was obviously a woman given from what he naked body flaunted. His gaze would have studied her figure more intently if he didn't notice her horns. "An Ethaefal?" The entire situation gave him the oddest feeling of deja vu considering he worked for an Ethaefal who had a habit of practicing nudism at The Stark Naked and Starstruck bath house.

Raylan's fingers tapped against the body of the mandolin, making a steady drumming beat as he looked around to see if she was with anyone. During his search, all he could find was a long trail of fresh footprints in the sand leading away from the girl. Once his eyes returned to her, It occurred to him that the girl seemed to be begging or pleading. But, for what? He could think of no reason not to ask her, so approached her with a smile gracing his features.

"Don't you hate it when you ask someone to help you make the Gaping Maw laugh and they say no." He took several steps forward, then started to walk around the girl in a circle the same way he did around his tent. In a strange way, he felt like he used the long trail of his footprints to connect her circle with the one he made before. "Lovey. What kind of dastardly question could you possibly have that would result in scaring someone off? ... I ask because I might need to use said query someday to get out of sticky situation" He chuckled to himself then showed off his curiosity by raising a brow in her direction.

Raylan was in no rush for an answer, so returned his gaze to the mandolin. He practiced playing as slow as possible, stopping to make sure the next string was correct before strumming. He yearned for the day that he could make his instrument sing, but a out of breath 'yodeling' would have to suffice for now.

Lost and Fallen (Alexander Faircroft)

She sat still as the man walked away, her begging position still in place, slightly dumbfounded as her begging position began to slump over. The jacket still sat in front of her, her face began to frown as she continued to sit not sure what to do with herself... She listened to the soft lapping of the ocean, still sitting as her legs began to feel... Odd, it felt like millions of little needles were likely poking at the skin as her muscles tensed.

Softly in the distance she heard something else, something new, something pleasant... She looked, and saw a man beginning to circle her. Her eyes tried to follow the man, eventually she had to turn her head until it almost hurt to continue turning the way she was going. Instead of whipping her head around to continue staring she simply rolled her head and neck so it was hanging upside down to continue to follow, before she began to follow the man normally when he once again walked out of view.

"I simply asked to go see this 'city of illusions.' I don't know where I am... Also what is the Gaping Maw? And that thing you did with that thing you are holding... What is it?" *Her questions rattled off in a quick and rapid manner, her words almost stumbling over each other as she continued getting used to talking. Some of the words even resembled one of a child, with soft letter pronunciations or struggling to get the words out. She quickly stopped her talking before sitting on her rear end once again, splaying out her legs in front of her and resting on her hands. After doing so her legs felt much better compared to the odd tingly feeling that had cursed them.

The woman sighed as the feeling quickly faded from her legs, she wiggled her toes as the feeling quickly came back to them. She felt the grains of sand in between her toes, her eyebrow raised as her quickly shifting attention focused on the mysterious grains that stuck to her feet. She leaned forward as her delicate hands touched the the grains, feeling them as the irritation from the rubbing of the sand against skin began to settle in.

Lost and Fallen (Alexander Faircroft)

Postby Raylan Ramsey on April 27th, 2017, 12:33 am

Raylan couldn't help but cant his head to one side upon noticing her child-like wonder. Her pure faced innocence. She was perfect. And he could use her. For what exactly, he didn't know. But the prospects of future machination were as tantalizing as the woman's very pleasant body. He initially ignored her first mentions of the city once she spoke about his mandolin. Raylan flexed the fingers of his right hand that he used to strum the mandolin, holding the lengthened finger nails on that hand to the strings.

"This is called a mandolin. I use it to play music, like this." He held the base of his left thumb against the back of the instruments neck and squeeze the strings between his thumb and fingers. With his right hand, he started to strum all of the strings with his finger nails. He lifted two of his fingers off of the string to strum them again, playing a soft tune on them as he took the time to find the correct way to play a song he'd made up called 'Sea foam nights'Imagine the simple tune of twinkle twinkle little star.

His finger fumbled as he strummed the wrong strings. He shook his head before shifting his fingerings to different cords. It still didn't sound right, so he dropped his hand lower down the neck of the mandolin to set on a different fret. Once he strummed the same set of strings again, it made the proper sounds he wanted, and started to play it repeatedly. "Right now, we are on the beach near the city. Everyone calls this place Patchwork Port... you'll know why when you see it."

As he played, he started to walk back towards his own tent, following the previous trail he made in the sand. "The Gaping Maw is a person everyone meets when entering Alvadas, the city of illusions." He then shifted around to start walking backwards. "You coming, beautiful? I'll show you it after I pack up my tent...But please, feel free to ask more questions."

He wasn't sure, but Raylan decided to muster his force of will. It was a simple matter, to tap the well spring of his djed to empower his words. He guided the arcane, letting it travel like energy shooting across his every nerve until it surged to his vocal cords. He empowered the words he had spoken, feel free to ask more questions, with hypnotic power. He laced his words with a simple hypnotic suggestion. 'Stay close to him'. Raylan wasn't sure what to do with her, but he was sure that he wanted her to stay close to him, have a nagging subliminal need to want to follow him until he could use her properly.

"What is your name?" He mused while still walking backwards, bare chested while the black coat he wore flapped lightly in the sea breeze as his bare feet left foot prints in the sand.

Lost and Fallen (Alexander Faircroft)

She paused from her sand shenanigans, almost freezing in place as she heard the sound of strumming in a simple tune. She thought it sounded nice, she couldn't tell what to feel about it. It was a good feeling, she wanted to hear more of it, that is for sure. But when this man suddenly messed up, it made her cringe slightly as the sour note rang, not really aware that she should have covered it up as she visibly scrunched up. She shook her head before focusing on the man now.

She got up anyways, leaving the jacket behind as she trotted behind the man, her feet padded along the man's larger footprints. She could barely tell that the orders were given to follow him, due to the fact she was already planning to follow him around. She had her bare arms straight out as if she was trying to balance on the footsteps, her still bare body wet with the ocean. The ocean breeze coming and sending a chill down her back, though she smelt the ocean breeze, the salt and the other hint of a metal, though she didn't know what it was yet.

She sat in silence as the man explained many thing, they all sounded so... Amazing! Surely everything that was explained would be a sight to behold, such as this Patchwork Port, or this Gaping Maw person. Which made her wonder, this Gaping Maw person surely would be odd, to greet every single person that enters a city must be tiring, she wondered what he might look like, or what he or she might do other than the whole greeting party deal they do.

Then the man asked something that caught her off guard... What was a name. Did she even have a name? What is the point of a name anyways, it sounded bothersome. She didn't speak for what seemed like several chimes as she searched through her mind for the answer to that question. What was her name? What would it even be anyways? "I... Don't know my name..." Another breeze came from the ocean, as the sent of that familiar metal like smell filled her nostrils. She rubbed her chin, she felt like it was on the tip of her tongue, yet it was not there, she found herself becoming flustered now, visibly distressed.

Lost and Fallen (Alexander Faircroft)

Postby Raylan Ramsey on April 29th, 2017, 3:33 am

Raylan gave a quiet chuckle and a curt nod, he didn't know much about Ethaefal. But he'd spoken to his Ethaefal employer enough to know that they fell from somewhere up high. That was when the notion of her being a child clicked in his mind. "Newly fallen?" He thought to himself as he let his gaze fall from her horns to her feet, then back up again. "No need to strain yourself. A name is only a word, love.

Upon reaching his tent, Raylan started to get completely dressed since his beach day relaxation was over. He dawned his jet black Night Leather armor, adjusting the breast piece made of flexibly tough spider silk followed by bracer, grieves, leggings, before slipping on his boots. Afterwards, he walked over to hand the woman his black coat. As he stood in front of her, it was in his nature to flit with any naked and attractive person standing in front of him.

I'll tell you this, until you come up with a name I shall simply call you ... He paused for a moment as he walked around her, trying to find some word that best described her. And as he walked back to her front her, he chuckled. Dimples? No. Honey, for someone sweet as a bunny? No. Maybe bunny... yes, Bunbun! Hop to it Bubun."

He'd been having a pleasant day thus far, so his facial features naturally set on a joyful countenance. But his eyes held a lustful nature behind them. The way he Looked at her. To anyone else, they'ed know they were being looked at intimately. Or, maybe she did too? "I for one could stare at the wonders of your elegant form all day, but some people tend to be prudish in the city. I'm not sure why? Anyway, I am sad to say that you should wear my coat until we can get you some clothes... hopefully I can get you out of them later."

His last words were spoken with a smirk and a wink, then turned to start braking down his campsite. It was a simple process since he only had to pull the pegs that kept his tent poles standing upright, then folded the tarp, and rolled the bedroll up to strap it to the top of his pack. It was a boring process, one that quickly ended once he wore the pack on his back. "Come, come." He beckoned her on as he walked to The Patchwork.

"This is the docks. I've spent many a day here in my life... feel free to take in that sweet ocean smell." He spoke as he never stopped walking, he assumed the woman wouldn't dillydally for too long given the last hypnotic suggested he'd used on her. Then trudged along to The Gaping Maw as if he were some type of tour guide.

“You have come in search of the City of Illusion. Tell me, stranger, why are you here?”

The Maw spoke up as always, this time to Oza since Raylan was no newcomer to the city. And this is The Maw, wonderful conversationalist. But a hard person to make laugh. Trust me, I've tried. He spoke as he stood at the entrance to the city, waiting for her to give an answer before they continued on.
