The Inverted Go to Ravok

Image

As the Watchtowers flare to indicate season change, rumours burst into life that the Inverted have decided to head into the far off city known as Ravok. Sure enough, a messenger leaves the city at midday on a Wind Eagle and the Inverted start to recruit entertainers for their show, and people to help with the journey. Guards, hunters, merchants, and of course, actors and performers of all kinds, are invited to accompany the caravan to Ravok, and those wishing to help but stay at home are encouraged to help create costumes, props and supplies for the journey.

The theatre troupe leave for Syliras on the 11th, remaining there for one day before journeying from the 27th to the 87th, when they finally reach Ravok. There, they prepare for the performance on the last day of the season, and take a better look at what the city of Rhysol is like.

All PCs are welcome to contribute any way they want, while those which are interested in travelling with the group can sign up in my office, here. PM Chameleon for further details!

When Sickness Strikes

Despite the efforts of Ionu's Mercy, the sickness that came to Alvadas the previous season seems to continue to thrive. Although everyone finds their symptoms changing, it seems to only be getting worse, causing hysteria among the masses. A small group decide to ask the priests of the Seasons for advice, and immediately start to blame the Vantha who still remain in the city.

Anti-Vantha propaganda starts appearing in the streets again on the 14th, blaming them for the sickness that has hit the city. While the priests attempt to order for the Vantha to be killed, offering another reward, the rest of the city doesn't seem to agree, including the Speakers, as trying to kill them all off last time had resulted in nothing.

Instead, the Speakers initiate their own Vantha hunt on the 20th, inspired by Ionu's golden bird from Spring, only this time, they want to protect the living Vantha from pointless murder. They ask for all Vantha, whether alive or as a ghost, to come to them to try and figure out an alternative method of fixing what Morwen's absence has created.

(PCs will be PMed how their sickness has changed for this season if they were previously infected. Those wishing to kill Vantha for the Seasons' priests may attempt to do so, but be aware that the Speakers will see it as any normal murder and if caught, you will be hung, drawn and quartered - or something even worse.)

Fire, Fire!

Seemingly in reaction to the Speakers going against the priest's wishes, the Womiyu is set alight in the evening of the 49th. As the building burns, a mysterious masked figure arrives in her red painted wagon, brandishing sprays of water with her bare hands. Desperately, she asks for the help of those around her, to save the Speakers that are trapped inside.

(This will be a Moderated Event, which you can sign up to, using the correct form, in my office.)

Attack of the Parasites

By the 60th, everyone finds that their symptoms have disappeared, and the tension in the city begins to alleviate. This is quickly cut short by a parasite that is activated on the 61st, causing everyone who had contracted the illness previously to be affected. The parasite causes those infected to feel an unquenchable urge to hurt others, either physically or mentally, which causes a wave of malicious actions across Alvadas.

Those unaffected by the illnesses from before - and therefore by the parasite - do not suffer from the parasite, but find themselves especially targeted by those who do suffer from it.

Finally, on the 70th, the parasite dies, and everyone returns to a normal state of health, but the damage seems to have already been done. Ionu's Mercy experiences an unprecedented flood of those injured, now they know they can trust doctors to help rather than hurt, and eagerly ask for any volunteers to help them however they can.

Building Up and Knocking Down

After the sickness leaves Alvadas, Aysu the Sea eagerly pushes forward the project, desperate to get it happening before the next season. Reimancers and constructors are hired to start building the expansion of the wall, which quickly gets underway on the 72nd.

The extra area of Alvadas is soon enveloped under Ionu's control, and the new land is offered to those aspiring to start a farm, a business or create some housing. To help those who have idea but lack the funds, a small office is created that offers loans to those who need them to build something on the new piece of land.

For those who know that even with a loan, they wouldn't have enough money, a community farm is also created. Those who so desire to are allowed to come and help as they wish, in return for a small share of the crops. They quickly discover that the fruit and vegetables they are growing are not of the usual variety, but instead strangely illusion food.

Weather and Illusions

In celebration of the Inverted's plans, everything in the city turns bright blue until they leave on the 11th.

On the 27th, people start to fall from the sky, most drifting down holding brightly coloured umbrellas. The majority of them simply disappear on landing, but several, some illusions and others real people, fall onto the people below. Everyone finds that at some point during the day, their dream guy, gal or armchair falls onto them. For those who find out that it was only an illusion that fell on them have only the day to get to know them, before they disappear in a puff of smoke. *Credit to Kayak and Dove, I believe

From the 70th, Ionu begins to cycle the seasons. For six days, people experience Spring all over again, as flowers bloom from every location, possible and impossible. Some of these grow much larger than usual, creating paths made out of giant flowers. A few aspiring tailors beautiful dresses from the petals, which remain even after the illusion has finished. Contrasting to the oversized flowers, all the animals in Alvadas shrink to their baby counterparts.

From the 76th, the city moves to Summer, the previous illusions changing to a constantly sunny sky. People experience drowsiness around midday that can only be combated with a short siesta, and the few clouds that come to the sky sink near to the ground and taste like candyfloss.

On the 84rd, the season returns to Fall, and certain individuals find they are constantly being followed by gusts of orange coloured leaves. Those working on the community farm or on their own pieces of land find that in this short time, the crops planted earlier have grown fully, and a large feast is thrown on the 90th with all the new crops.

What Can You Smell, Dear?

Image

From the 31st, to the 60th, everything smells different to what it should. Fiddles smell like rain, books smell like ashes and puddles of cheesecake. Some individuals find that, from the 50th to the 60th, they can only smell their favourite - or least favourite - smell, much to their confused delight or distaste. (PCs that signed up last season may roll 1d2 to smell either 1-the smell they listed as their favourite in the registry, or 2-the one they said they hated.)

The cause is tracked down to a man name Roland, who had given out vials of scent last season, which were amplified by Ionu and the city itself, to assult the senses and help his daughter smell something for the first time.

On the 83rd, Roland's daughter manages to smell something, and Roland, pleased with his experiment, leaves bottles of unusual perfumes lying around for people to find and 'enjoy'.

Déjà Vu

On the 90th, the illusions within the city seem to be different for every person. At some point during the day, they find themselves in a position that is almost identical to one they have almost experienced, down to the people around them (which, if the actual person is unavailable, are simply other PCs or NPCs with an illusion that makes them resemble whoever they are filling in for.) Everyone is given a chance to replay the events of whenever they find themselves, or learn from their mistakes and play the day out differently.

(PM me, Chameleon, if you have any questions about this. This'll give you the chance to rewrite those old threads anew to see how your PC - and you, too - have changed since then. Or explore past events. Or anything, really!)
