Hwyn didn't like to admit it, but he was beginning to find that Alvadas was quite good at getting the better of him. Wandering Aimlessly Hwyn pondered the mechanics of the city, each day buildings shifted and streets changed like some ill advised chef was stirring the city as was his desire with no regard to the inhabitants within. That said even that had it's own special sort of appeal, each day had a little sense of adventure to it, one could never know where one alley would take them or where they would pop out when they left their home in the morning.

On this particualr day the Skies were a tad ominous drawing contrast to the bright yellow dress Hwyn wore. Today he had decided to go with Light blue eyeliner and pink lips, with his Violin strapped across his back he looked every part the colorful entertainer as was his desire to fit in among the colorful Ionu worshipers that littered the streets. as he walked He hummed the city was full of pretty sounds and colors and Hwyn loved it, it brought life to the city, it was very much unlike Syliras something Hwyn was happy to find, his travels were constantly widening his horizons in new and fun ways.

Adding a Skip to his step Hwyn remembered the importance of maintaining his disguise. instead of walking like a man as he tended to when he was distracted he added a touch of femininity to his stride, nothing robust or exaggerated, just a certain sway and circulation to his steps. A clockwork stride of left and right in his hips that while slightly shortening his stride gave his pace an allure that men seemed drawn to. It was useful on multiple fronts Hwyn found that such strides and poses tended to draw a little more out of those who watched his performances and each copper miza he earned just for adding a little effort to his posture was worth it.

Lost in though Hwyn only stopped walking when he realized that he was standing directly in front of a large grey wall, to his left and too his right he found himself similarly blocked in. His only option was to turn about and detour. Turning around however turned out to be more daunting than he had expected it felt as if the alley he had ended up in was forever long and between him and the couple blocks he would have to walk to extricate himself from the dreadful alley were shadows that played ominously. shaking his head Hwyn tried to play it off as the City teasing him, but all the same he felt like he wasn't entirely alone in the alley. perhaps the city was chiding him for not paying his due respects?

Wandering hearts (Kawari)

A breeze ruffled the Kelvic's untied hair as she wove her way through the the alleys in search of some place for food. Not that she minded the meals at the Watering Hole, but she was not used to such an unvaried diet, and so, she followed her nose around corners and through small passage ways, at times abandoning one scent for one of more appeal. Kawari did in fact have a strong sense of smell, one that traded over from her Kevlic form; it was one of the few constants she had in the ever shifting city that was Alvadas. Not that she minded the new layout every day, but part of her missed the consistency of her previous home, Syliras. All the same, the changing city would never allow her to grow bored and was exhilarating in its own way, at times seeming like a puzzle or some elaborate game.

In her hunt of delicious scents, Kawari found her clothes more of a hindrance, snagging on the odd point and corner. After a few times too many, she shed the tan coloured breeches and light blue blouse, before she tucked them into her backpack, leaving her in her undergarments. The air was warm enough that it didn't bother her bare skin, but the echoed disapproval she had earned from her Pottery Master, Sal, for similar actions came briefly to mind, before she shooed them away; he was not here to scold her in this new city. It had been about a moon since she had last seen him. As a wave of loneliness washed her, Kawari picked up her pack and continued on her way, avoiding people despite herself.

Indeed, it was a task in itself to avoid the numerous people who littered the streets, though their bright clothes gave warning enough. She herself had arrived at the beginning of Summer by ship, near about when the first of these colourful people had begun entering the city. 'Ionu's worshipers', she had heard them called in disgruntled voices at the Wolf's Cave, which was nearly packed full, despite residence of the more dangerous folk, such was the wolf siblings and the Symenestra, and others like them. Kawari gave the wolves especially a wide-berth; wolves had been known to eat her kind, especially when rearing pups. Then again, they were not likely to eat one of their customers, but she was wary nonetheless.

All at once, a strong scent hit her nose that made her mouth water- cooking fish. She had missed the gentle taste of the slippery creature, the one food that was lacking at the Watering Hole, for all its steaks and plants. Quickly, she began to chase the scent, twisting around corners, paying little mind to those who would have caught sight of her, had they been paying attention. Twisting around one corner, she near ran full on into a small child, noticing him at the last moment. In an instant, she shifted into her kelvic form, so as to lessen the impact, a fluffy ball of fur of fifteen pounds barreling into him instead, her pack and undergarments falling beside them. Dismayed by her carelessness, she jumped off of him, only to see the child wearing a dress and the colourful paints that many two-legged females wore. It was a contradiction to her nose, which as she sniffed him, told her that it was indeed a him, but it was a fact that was pushed to the back of her brain as she worriedly set about nudging the boy with her nose, searching for any sign of injury.

Wandering hearts.

As Hwyn made his way out of the alley any his paranoia was replaced by suprise and a little bit of confusion. The sound of rapid footsteps was quickly followed by something coming around the corner. Though before Hwyn could identify what he saw it was gone and was replaced by something much smaller barreling into his stomach. Knocking him back Hwyn landed roughly on his bum, though not hard enough to do much more than smarting.

The small creature quickly hopped off of him and was now looking at him oddly, as if it was concerned. That in and of itself was odd as with the exception of dogs most animals weren't too particularly interested in the wellbeing of humans. Looking at the small animal Hwyn decided that he definitely wasn't sure what it was but that it was rather calm it didn't seem to be planning to gnaw on him, and that it was a quite pretty animal.

"Oww.. where'd you come from?"

Not too particularly perturbed by being tackled Hwyn looked the animal over before noticing that a discarded pack and a pair of undergarments. Had the animal stolen them? Animals as far as Hwyn was aware weren't particularly interested in most human possessions, something was certainly odd but it was beyond him to figure out exactly what it was.

Reaching out Hwyn would attempt to scratch the animal behind the ears and rub it's head to signify that their were no hard feelings. He felt a certain kinship with the little beasty just on the basis that it was likely as lost as he was.

"where did you come from? Are you as lost as i am or did I just manage to get in your way cutie?"

Talking to the animal while smiling Hwyn doubted that the little thing could understand him and spoke rhetorically like one would to a pet or child that's yet to speak. thinking to himself he realized that his collision with the small animal had made him lose track of his prior thoughts. Where was he heading today? If anything the most immediate need of his body was hunger, he should snag himself some breakfast before he waited till afternoon to maybe find a party or something to perform at.

Observing the animal Hwyn found himself wondering how many animals Alvadas had that he didn't know about, the little ball of fluff had small colorful eyes a small nose like some dogs had, dark marking around it's eyes. It didn't look anything like a rodent, but he didn't think it was a dog either, by that same measure it was very much real, as far as whyn knew Ionu's illusions didn't normally plow people over.

"You know, for such a pretty creature I don't think i've ever seen one like you, I wonder just where you came from little guy?"

Although she had let his words wash over her as she searched him, his tone had seemed... quizzical. When the small human didn't raise his voice at her, Kawari relaxed, sat and tilted her head to the right, considering him. With light coloured fu- hair, the child was slight but not without muscle, with large blue-green eyes. A faint smell of fear drifted from him, but it did not seem to be directed at her, quickly fading as it was. From his curious gaze, she wondered if her sudden appearance had distracted him from whatever had frightened him. Warily, she looked around to see if there was anything there, but saw not but a long alley and a dead end. Deciding that there was no immediate danger, she turned her attention back to the one before her and watched as he reached out to touch her. Making no sudden movements, Kawari sniffed his hand before allowing him to scratch behind her ears, leaning in when he hit the right spot, her tail swaying in appreciation.

She made mewling noises in response to the boy's questions, frustrated that she couldn't respond in a way that he would understand. Suddenly, she had an idea. Sniffing dramatically, she wandered around their small area for a few moments, before visibly licking her chops, and looked at him expectantly with a light yip. If he had understood her, she wasn't sure, but was distracted for a moment when she felt something underneath her fore paws, only to realize that it was one of her undergarments.

As she noticed her discarded garments, she took them up in her mouth and set about tugging them towards her pack. Once finished with the undergarments, the small canine trotted over to her boots, which were still by the corner from where she had shifted into her tanuki form, took the first by the edge of the ankle in her teeth and picked it up, returning to her pile, repeating the same with the second. That task done, Kawari returned her attention to the child, who had been observing her with a curious gaze and trotted over to sit before him once more and gazed at him in return.

Knowing when she was being complimented, Kawari drew herself up, pleased with his words. In the next instant, she crouched before him in her human form, her tanned skinned bare. "Thank you!" she said in response to his compliment with a smile that was a few fingers away from his face, before kissing his cheek. Sal would have admonished her for the kiss, but she knew that secretly, the old man had been pleased when she had kissed his own cheek, the same way he had been pleased when she licked his hands when in her canine form. "Syliras was my home, but now I live here," Kawari said as she watched for the young human's reaction with interest.

Title and Date

Animals were funny creatures, But Hwyn was certain that for the most part, understanding of human speech was beyond them. So as he petted the small creature before him he was quite surprised by how animated the furry thing was. It seemed to be listening to him prattle on and for that matter it seemed to be replying with it's own adorable noises. Still not Sure what it was Hwyn had to giggle at the little creature. Thohg it's next actions confused him it began to pile the clothing that had appeared on the pack, did the creature need such a thing? Confused Hwyn watched silently.

Then the small animal came to bear in front of him what followed was beyond his comprehension, the small animal in a swirl of lights was suddenly replaced by a very pretty..... very naked girl in front of him, who proceeded to kiss him on the cheek. This and a brief thanks followed by the fact that she was from Sylyras all registered as data in Hwyn's head but the only reaction he was able to give was to turn three shades of red and hide his face. The series of events was simply beyond his normal threshold of oddities, even in Alvadas a city of illusions the animal turning into a girl and then a girl kissing him were simply more than his brain could register in such a short span.

Attempting to squelch any thoughts fueled by Lusy Hwyn peaked from between his fingers and confirmed that there was indeed a naked girl in front of him and that he wasn't in fact crazy. but in this case what was he supposed to say. Hello? thank you? You're pretty? this entire situation was unprecedented and beyond his control.

"U-u-u-u... Hi? I'm H-h-h-h-Hwyn, N-n-n-n-nice to meet, you, you're v-v-very, pretty... Uhm M-me too, I'm c-came from S-syliras."

Babbling like a brook Hwyn wasn't sure what to say could he tell her to put on clothes? Did he want to? His brain was spiraling and he wasn't sure whether to thank or curse Ionu at this point.

Curiosity lit her expression as the girl-who-was-a-boy's complexion, which peeked out from between his fingers, flushed darker and darker shades of pink. When his eyes briefly peeped out, the Kelvic wondered at their brilliant colours, a beautiful meld of green-blue that reminded her of some of the glazes at home- no, her old home with Master Sal. Then the child spoke:
"U-u-u-u... Hi? I'm H-h-h-h-Hwyn, N-n-n-n-nice to meet, you, you're v-v-very, pretty... Uhm M-me too, I'm c-came from S-syliras."

"H-h-h-h-Hwyn is from Syliras too?!" she whispered in surprise, shining eyes round. She had taken his stutter as though it were how he pronounced his name.
"Do you know Master Sal? Some people call him Slavador Bateson, and he makes pottery! The ones made out of clay. He carves pictures and swirls, and glazes them and some that have the same pretty colours as your eyes..." she murmured wistfully as she reached to gently pull one hand away from his flushed face and inspected his eyes.

Briefly reminded of the old man once more, Kawari re-evaluated the boy before her, leaning in at a breath's distance to examine him. With lids nearly shut, the Kelvic scented the human, but did not smell sickness or blood about him, and lightly touching her cheek to his, he did not seem too warm. Hwyn did not smell of fright either, but there was a scent that she did not recognise, his breathing was uneven and he did seem distressed...
Was this why Master Sal had warned her to wear clothing? Was it some sickness that she did not know about?
'It is not appropriate for a young woman to go without clothing,' he had told her, not that she had listened much at first, but then he had barred her from the pottery room for two whole days until she had agreed to wear clothing. She frowned at the memory. Kawari still did not understand what the old man meant by 'appropriate', just that it was something that did not make him happy.
The young Kelvic refocused her gaze and considered Hwyn for a moment, her head tilted to the left, mirroring her earlier pose in her furred form.

"... H-h-h-h-Hwyn... is not wearing clothes bad?"

Before him she crouched unashamed of her appearance, all the embarrassment of the situation instead transferred to Hwyn this was not a situation he had a precedent for nor did he know how to handle it. He could hear her talk through the blood pounding in his ears her saying his name wrong and asking him about Syliras. It wasn’t tell his hand was pulled down by her that he was forced to look directly before him. Trying to stammer a response while also trying to control figure out what the emotions that tugged at his mind where he fumbled out words.

“N-n-no… I-i.. I don’t know him sorry… I was o-o-o-only in Syliras for a little while. M-m-my eyes aren’t that s-special”

The she got closer, Hwyn looking into his eyes before pressing her face against his. Unable to do anything but let her do whatever she desired he tried not to let his eyes wander over the body of the first woman he’d ever seen… seen… seen, dressed thusly, or… not.. .as it were. His heart felt like it was beating heard enough to be audible to people down the street. Her visage her smell the sound of her breathing near his ear. All things he’d never been interested in now something his body was painfully aware of.
Then she asked him a question that made him swallow hard, as he again tried and failed to formulate words in a cohesive manner his brain seemingly about as bad off as his heart.

“It…. It isn’t that it… is b-b-bad, y-y-y-you… you are very beautiful… But… Uhm clothes… keep you warm… so you don’t get cold… so… if you aren’t c-c-c-cold, maybe it’s o-k-k-kay? I mean… U-u-u-h. C-clothes are g-g-g-good for making p-p-p-people look nice too… but… Y-y-you are already v-v-very pretty.. s-soo…

Cutting himself off he mentally recoiled. What are you saying idiot he could feel what was left of his sanity arguing with his biology. This situation was just far too strange, Syliras hadn’t been like this at all everyone was dour and dutiful but Alvadas was full of life, he’d already been on edge but now his mind was split and unsure of what to do… It was Ionu’s doing right? The cities trickster god must be messing with him? She must be sent just to mess with him? Right? The city was supposed to tease you?

As she listen to his stuttered explanation, she realized that the boy's name was simply Hwyn and that after her examination of him, Hwyn seemed even more distressed than before, if his increased stuttering and heavy breathing were anything to go by. Kawari observed as his pretty eyes, filled with mixed emotions, wandered her form and caught onto a new scent as it rose from his skin. 'Maybe this has to do with what it means to be "not appropriate," like Master Sal said? Maybe not wearing clothes makes others distressed and uncomfortable...' her thoughts trailed off. Though the boy called her "beautiful" and "pretty," he called her so in a different tone than he had when she had worn her furred form. The kelvic thought for a moment, and wondered what happen if she hugged the boy and giggled at the idea, before the sobering image of a rabbit passing out due to fright crossed her mind.

'No, that wouldn't be nice,' she thought as she studied the boy's embarrassed expression. Then she considered his words. 'Clothes keep you warm,' he had said. In her smaller form, her fur kept her warm; sometimes too warm, sometimes even after she had shed her winter coat. However, as she stretched her arms out to examine and take stock of her present form, she came to he conclusion that her hairless state would not do so well in colder weather. The boy had also said that clothing made people look nice, and he had complemented her when she had been wearing her fur.

"Clothing is like fur, because this shape doesn't have much fur," she concluded with a pleased smile, and looked to the boy for confirmation. After she considered him for a moment, Kawari stood and began picking up her clothes. Having selected her undergarments first, the kelvic began to dress and within a chime, she stood fully clothed, though her shirt was left loose and her feet bare as an allowance for air to brush against her warm skin. Turning her attention back on the boy, she posed him a question.

"Hwyn, is this better?" Kawari asked in attempt to gauge Hwyn's reaction while she watched him with a quizzical expression.

Wandering hearts

When she finally decided she was going to dress again accepting Hwyn’s response he was finally able to tear his gaze away. Not looking at her until she knew she was again decent he counted the seconds slowly taking control of his own mind once more. After a few moment he finally looked back at her and was pleased to find her form decent. When she asked him if her appearance was better he nodded slowly still not trusting his tongue.

Standing up he bowed curtly to her. Retracing his minds steps he tried to remember what he’d originally been doing in the alley in the first place. Then he remembered, he was lost. Frowning at the thought he hoped his new shape changing friend had some idea of where they were.

“So, uhm… what are you doing out here? Was t-there a reason you were running around b-back here? And… Uh… how do you d-do that… change,… your s-shape?”

Thinking about it he’d heard of people that could change shape but he’d never met one. Thinking about it he wondered again if she was just some Illusion of Ionu’s it wasn’t out of the question this was his city, she did seem quite real however. Deciding that it would be rude to ask if someone was real or not he decided not to do so and treat her like a real person until proven otherwise. It also occurred to him that he didn’t know much about the woman, other than the fact that she could change shape, and that she didn’t seem to care much for shame.

“I…. excuse me, but, can I ask what your name is? And, yes, much better, you l-l-look very p-p-pretty in clothes t-too….”

Frowning he decided that again his word choice had failed him. Shaking his mind off of it he wondered what he should do, did she need something was it an accident and they would depart as strangers? He was mildy happy just at the thought of company, he still had some coin in his pocket from his performances, and he was staying at the temple for the time being so he didn’t have any reason to go home.

“C-can I help y-you with anything miss?”
