Old CS :
Zeyan
The Iceblade

Full Name: Zeyan
Alias: Snow
Race: Vantha
Gender: Male
Age: 19
Birthday: 2nd of Winter
Birthplace: Avanthal
Height: 6ft
Weight: 175lbs

Profession: Mercenary Pending
Current Housing: Tent City

Fluent: Common
Basic: Vani
Poor: Ancient tongue

Appearance
Look at what lies beneath the Snow

Zeyan is a man retaining a youthful visage, and would surely be considered handsome were it not for his constantly tired facial expression. He doesn't keep his colorless, shoulder-length mane in any particular style, allowing the strands of white to fall over his tall forehead. Under light, one could be fooled to assume that his hair, in fact, glows. Zeyan's slightly angular jawline is clean shaved, with the few hairs of beard, due to their snowy color, perfectly blending in with his tan. The Vantha's eyes are dark red in color, sharply contrasting his milky skin. His lips appear to always be color-drained, and are pulled in a thin, weary line. His build is lean, with slight muscles visible - however, more from the lack of fat than of training.

Zeyan's clothes are simple in both design and quality, and always appear to be made for someone larger than himself. As such, they are most usually baggy, though in turn, allowing for freedom of movement. Likewise, due to his extremely pale skin, the Vantha shies from the Sun, making him resort to using cloaks and other means to cover up most of his exposed flesh.

As of the beginning of the Vantha hunt, Zeyan never leaves his tent without his hooded cape and facemask to cover up his features.

As is the case with every Vantha, the color of Zeyan's eyes shifts from its native red to reflect on his moods.
-Blue: A very light, icy shade of blue, reserved exclusively for when he uses magic, an action that causes him to experience great euphoria.
-Pink: In the rare event that Zeyan becomes embarrassed or flustered, or just affectionate, his iris will glint in a swirl of pink.
-Vermilion: His eyes, which are usually take color of burnt tea leaves, grow in intensity to reflect the anger that burns behind them. In these cases, one could spy that the Vatha's eyes almost burn with color.
-White: At times when Zeyan is extremely relaxed, or drowsy, his eyes will come to match his hair.
-Black: If the Vantha gets agitated or alarmed, his iris will adopt a slaten black pigmentation. This color almost never fully manifests, and instead, appears in swirls that mix with his native eye color.
-Green: Due to his apparent lack of emotional intelligence, Zeyan does not understand a great deal of things, and when he is puzzled or confused, his eyes will pass from red, to a clouded, murky green.

Personality
Ice Cold

Zeyan was changed during his initiation, and in more ways than just physically. After he had awaken, he felt a lot more detached from the world than he did before. Suddenly, people that he loved and cared for, became nothing more than mere strangers. He stopped feeling sorry for the beggars, and others in unfortunate situations, and saw no problems in, in fact, exploiting said situations, should he see the opportunity, and gain to do so. He had made a drastic shift from a kind, aloof boy, to who he is now.

He is incredibly straightforward, and painfully blunt. Things most would avoid saying, or taking note of, Zeyan has no problem spilling out. Due to this, lying comes as something difficult to pull off. With empathy, gone were also his guilt, sense of shame, and fear. Zeyan thusly, oft knows not when danger is imminent, or the correct way to respond to it. Some would say that he is always in a gloom mood, ever tired and weary. Nightmares frequent his dreams since his initiation, and a night of quality sleep is something of a rare luxury. Despite all of this, he has a distinct appreciation towards art, in whatever form it may come, and still enjoys carving when he has time to kill.

History
Tracing back, the Footprints in the Snow

Zeyan was born in Avanthal, the only heir in a family of outcasts. Supposedly, many generations in the past, a man named Zelvathar committed a heinous crime. One so great, that he was stripped of his family name, inheritance, and sent away from cultured civilization. Zelvathar however, was proficient in the art of murder, and eventually rose to become an infamous assassin in his time. His sons and daughters would follow in his blood-soaked steps, and take in what had become the "family trade". Long after everyone that had any recollection of the incident had died, the nameless family was still deeply immersed in the dark arts, using their signature technique of fighting with weapons crafted from ice to slay whoever had a bounty on their head. Everyone, until a man named Vathas.

Vathas was, like his father, and his father before him, trained since he was young in the ways of assassination. He, however, decided to try and leave the family business after he had met, and later fell in love with a Vantha woodcarver named Illisia, of the Snowsong hold. She was a frail woman, likewise kind. She knew well of her, now husband's, dark and gruesome past. Yet, her love meant more to her than any of the lives he had taken. Later, she had given birth to a dark-haired boy whom they named Zeyan, and a little girl that carried her mothers name, both of whom she cared for deeply. Vathas did his best to turn a new slate, to forget everything about the acts he had committed, and to give his children the childhood he never had.

Yet, ages of bloodshed did not allow themselves to be forgotten quite so easily, as he had soon found out.

During the years, they have made many enemies, and without the protection of his kin, who had all but abandoned him after he had forsaken the family trade, Vathas was left to stand alone against the incoming enemies. Like lions that have spotted a youth of the heard that had separated itself, said enemies arrived to the snowy city of Avanthal, seeking bloody debts, long overdue to be paid.

Vathas, however, knew what was coming, and had readied his son to sail to Zeltiva, where he had an uncle. He on the other hand, stood his ground with his wife, who was far to weak for travel, and his baby daughter. Equipped with only a dusty diary, and a strange coin that he was supposed to show to the captain of the ship he as instructed to, Zeyan left off on his long voyage, his heart heavy with grief.

Once in Zeltiva, Zeyan learnt the truth from his uncle, a hardened killer going by the name of Illidian. Illidian resented Vathas for abandoning what he thought was their whole purpose for existing, and was delighted to learn of what happened. This, in turn, made the assassin present Zeyan with two choices.

Learn, or die.

In the following years, Zeyan had spent his time studying under his new master as they traveled from one place to another, doing jobs and hits. As they visited Avanthal for his coming of age, the boy noticed that his childhood home looked notably different, and was, as well, inhabited by other people, people who had never heard of anyone named Vathas, or Illisia. Zeyan was meek, and could never properly hold the weapons he so strongly detested, let alone take a life. That, however, changed soon after his initiation. Despite coming from a long line of reimancers, Zeyan's initiation went all but smooth. After the ordeal was over, the young boy spent five days in a coma. When he had awaken, the world he knew, looked a lot different, he did too. His black locks were now stark white, and the various task his pleased uncle gave him, came a lot easier.

Not long after, his uncle had met his match. He was always overly confident in his skills with his ice blades, his speed, his strength. Yet, Illidian was gravely injured during their stay in Lisnar, when one of their regular contacts betrayed them, and the pair was ambushed. Zeyan watched with awe as his uncle dispatched all of their attackers, turning droplets of heavy rain into thousands of sharp needles. He died laughing, with a smile on his face, and presented Zeyan with an oddly shaped key that he always wore around his neck. He would point at the diary the white-haired boy always held close by, and uttered a pained "These, are what they seek."

After that, Zeyan, now left on his own again, keeping both eyes open. He later found a trio of mercenaries that sought another member of their merry band. Zeyan, competent in reimancy, was readily accepted. Now, they are currently staying at Sunberth, doing bloody jobs, and selling their swords. Most of his funding was spent trying to discreetly unlock the meaning of the coded diary, though, with little luck.

As he departed from Avanthal, Zeyan was given a mysterious bookImage by his father. It was very old, and bound in dark leather, slightly worn from age. However, it had some value, seeing as how well it was kept. Its yellowed out pages were furrowed by rows of thin, elegant writing. However, Zeyan could never understand it, even later when he began learning Ancient Tongue from his uncle, who refused to answer all questions regarding the book. Later, with his dying breath, Illidian gave Zeyan an odd key, one that seemed to go hand-in-hand with the book, revealing that it was was "they" were searching for.

After spending most of his blood money of learning the secrets about the book, the only thing that Zeyan discovered was that it was written in some sort of old, forgotten code.

Housing
Never could stay in one place

Zeyanan currently lives somewhere on the outskirts of Sunberth's Tent City. His large tent and tarp are set to face the three other members of the small mercenary band, in a way that they all look towards a singe bonfire, located in the center. A lantern and two torches keep the darkness away at nights. Inside, a bedroll and blanket are tucked in the far left corner of the tent. Next to them is a backpack, filled with rations and toiletries, alongside some fishing tackle that he never really makes use of. Likewise, this is where the Vantha holds most of his riding equipment.

Around the tent, one could spot a palomino Guildling named HorseImage. The equine is never too long in one place, and is seemingly filled with endless energy. Likewise, the mare draws great pleasure from annoying Zeyan. Various pranks come in the form of stealing food, waking her rider up, as well as pulling the tent stakes. Horse almost never stays outside, but is accustomed to sleeping inside the tent, tucked next to Zeyan, much to his disapproval.
